Analytic Solution of Charge Density of Single Wall Carbon Nanotube under Conditions of Field Electron Emission

We derive the analytic solution of induced electrostatic potential along single wall carbon nanotubes. Under the hypothesis of constant density of states in the charge-neutral level, we are able to obtain the linear density of excess charge in an external field parallel to the tube axis.

Fredholm property of elliptic boundary value problems for partial differential and differential- operator equations

In this paper we find conditions on boundary value problems for elliptic differential-operator equations of the 4-th order in an interval to be fredholm. Apparently, this is the first publication for elliptic differential-operator equations of the 4-th order, when the principal part of the equation has the form u′?n(t) + Au″(t) + Bu(t), where AB^-1/2 is a bounded operator and is not compact. As an application we find some algebraic conditions on boundary value problems for elliptic partial equations of the 4-th order in cylindrical domains to be fredholm. Note that a new method has actually been suggested here for investigation of boundary value problems for elliptic partial equations of the 4-th order.     

Diffuse x-ray scattering study of the formation of microdefects in heat-treated dislocation-free large-diameter silicon wafers

Diffuse x-ray scattering (DXS) is used to study the formation of microdefects (MDs) in heat-treated dislocation-free large-diameter silicon wafers with vacancies. The DXS method is shown to be efficient for investigating MDs in silicon single crystals. Specific defects, such as impurity clouds, are found to form in the silicon wafers during low-temperature annealing at 450°C. These defects are oxygen-rich regions in the solid solution with diffuse coherent interfaces. In the following stages of decomposition of the supersaturated solid solution, oxide precipitates form inside these regions and the impurity clouds disappear. As a result of the decomposition of the supersaturated solid solution of oxygen, interstitial MDs form in the silicon wafers during multistep heat treatment. These MDs lie in the {110} planes and have nonspherical displacement fields. The volume density and size of MDs forming in the silicon wafers at various stages of the decomposition are determined.     

Modulation of Spin Distribution and Spin Transport by a Magnetic Field in a Quasi-One-Dimensional System with Spin--Orbit Coupling

The distributions of spin and currents modulated by magnetic field in a transverse parabolic confined two-dimensional electronic system with a Rashba spin--orbit coupling have been studied numerically. It is shown that the spin accumulation and the spin related current are generated by magnetic field if the spin--orbit coupling is presented. The distributions of charge and spin currents are antisymmetrical along the cross-section of confined system. A transversely applied electric field does not influence the characteristic behaviour of charge- and spin-dependent properties.     

全球大气重力波联测期间电离层扰动的台阵观测

本文利用武汉电离层观象台的加密频高图和三站Doppler图记录及新近提出的短波扰动反演方法,分析了1985年全球大气重力波联测(WAGS)期间10月18日这天白天的重力波扰动,发现在该日扰动中有两列不同形态的波列分别属于中尺度的内重力波和大尺度的导制重力波。本文还进一步估算了这两列重力波的水平传播参量,深入分析了它们的频谱结构的高度变化特征,发现了重力波功率谱谱峰的分裂和偏移等重要现象。本文结果表明,新的反演方法使电离层无线电汉诊断的简易短波实验系统,也能成为探测和研究重力波一类大尺度电离层动力过程的有效手段。

An axially symmetric contact problem for a half-space with an elastically reinforced cylindrical cavity

We consider the pressure of a plate on a half-space with a round cylindrical cavity. The surface of the cavity is reinforced by elastic elements that are modeled by very general operators. The problem is reduced to a Fredholm integral equation of second kind. A detailed study is made of the case of reinforcement described by the Winkler law. An approximate solution is obtained in the form of the asymptotics with respect to the radii of the plate and the cavity.Translated fromDinamicheskie Sistemy, No. 6, 1987, pp. 80–85.     

An approach to numerical solution of multipoint boundary-value problems

An approach is proposed to solving multipoint boundary-value problems for linear differential equation of w-th order, based on reduction to two-point boundary-value problems. The two-point problems are solved by the stable discrete orthogonalization method.
