Abstract

Energy-dispersive x-ray diffraction using synchrotron radiation was carried out on α-cristobalite to 3 GPa and 350°C in a cubic anvil press. A cascading structural phase transition occurred beyond 0.61 GPa at room temperature. The transition was accompanied by a splitting of most of the a-cristobalite reflections: the (111) reflection at 0.61 GPa through the (211) reflections at 2.13 GPa, with many other lines between. The pressure of this transition decreased with increasing temperature.  相似文献

Specific method for direct radioimmunoassay of IRP and IRI separately in human plasma has been described. The method is used for extraction of total insulin and separation of IRP from IRI by paper chromatography to be assayed separately. The separation of the two components are indentified and confirmed by column chromatography, paper chromatography and U.V. spectral analysis in comparison with the standard compounds.

134 plasma samples of different cases were, investigated for determination of IRI, IRP and IRT, of which 39 normals, 16 normal obes, 21 juvinil diabetes, 18 adult oncet diabetes, 10 recent adult diabetes, 12 hypothroid and 18 bilharzial hepatosplenomegaly to evaluate the levels of the test in comparison with blood sugar concentration.  相似文献

We studied low-energy (~ 1.55 keV) electron-spin-polarized 4He+ ion scattering on a Bi(111) ultrathin film epitaxially grown on a Si(111) substrate. We observed that the scattered ion intensity differed between the incident He+ ions with up and down spins even though Bi is a non-magnetic element. To analyze the origin of this spin-dependent ion scattering (the spin asymmetry), we investigated the detailed relationship between the spin asymmetry and the incident angle, the azimuthal angle, the scattering angle, and the incident energy. All the data indicate that the spin asymmetry originates from the scattering cross section owing to the non-central force in the He+–Bi atom binary collision. The non-central force is most likely attributed to the spin–orbit coupling that acts transiently on the He+ 1s electron spin in the binary collision.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the changes of noise and computer tomography (CT) number in each dental substance, by using the metal artefact reduction algorithm; we used dual CT for this study. For the study, we produced resin, titanium, gypsum, and wax that are widely used by dentists. In addition, we made nickel to increase the artefact. While making the study materials, we made sure that there is no difficulty when inserting the substances inside phantom. In order to study, we scanned before and after using the metal artefact reduction algorithm. We conducted an average analysis of CT number and noise, before and after using the metal artefact reduction algorithm. As a result, there was no difference in CT number and noise before and after using the metal artefact reduction algorithm. However, when it comes to the noise value in each substance, wax's noise value was the lowest whereas titanium's noise value was the highest, after applying the metal artefact reduction algorithm. In nickel, CT number and noise value from artefact area showed a decreased noise value when applying the metal artefact reduction algorithm. In conclusion, we assumed that we could increase the effectiveness of CT examination by applying dual energy's metal artefact reduction algorithm.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Polymers based on ionic conducting materials have important interest because of their potential applications in polymer electrolytes and membranes for fuel cell application. PVdF-co-HFP poly(viniliden-co-hexafluoropropylene) was chosen as a polymer matrix because of its high ionic conductivity and better mechanical properties. Polymer matrix composites were prepared with various amounts of LiClO4 salt by a solution casting method. The sample-ionic conductivity measurements were recorded by AC impedance analyzer at different frequencies from 0.1?Hz to 20?MHz and at different temperatures from 273 to 373?K.

The changes of nanoscopic free volume and free volume fraction in these materials were investigated in terms of temperature from 273 to 373?K using Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy (PALS) and Simha-Somcynsky (SS) Hole Theory. The free volume had a bump at about 3% in weight percentage of the salt and there is a slight increase after 10%. The effects of weight percentages of LiClO4 and temperature were investigated. The mechanism of the ac ionic conductivity was presented in terms of the free volume models, however thermo-occupancy function justifies the best accurate representation of the data.  相似文献

We conducted a numerical study on the fluid dynamic, thermal and chemical structures of laminar methane–air micro flames established under quiescent atmospheric conditions. The micro flame is defined as a flame on the order of one millimetre or less established at the exit of a vertically-aligned straight tube. The numerical model consists of convective–diffusive heat and mass transport with a one-step, irreversible, exothermic reaction with selected kinetics constants validated for near-extinction analyses. Calculations conducted under the burner rim temperature 300 K and the adiabatic burner wall showed that there is the minimum burner diameter for the micro flame to exist. The Damköhler number (the ratio of the diffusive transport time to the chemical time) was used to explain why a flame with a height of less than a few hundred microns is not able to exist under the adiabatic burner wall condition. We also conducted scaling analysis to explain the difference in extinction characteristics caused by different burner wall conditions. This study also discussed the difference in governing mechanisms between micro flames and microgravity flames, both of which exhibit similar spherical flame shape.  相似文献

The steady state burning rate of vertically oriented slabs of poly-methyl-methacrylate (PMMA) is numerically investigated. Model predictions are compared with measurements and results of the laminar boundary layer (LBL) theory. The numerical model provides a solution of the Favre-averaged Navier–Stokes equations coupled with sub-models for turbulence, combustion, soot production and radiation. The modelling of condensed phase processes is based on the one-dimensional heat transfer equation and pyrolysis is treated as a phase change using the latent heat approach. Results show that the pyrolysing region can be divided into three regions. In the laminar part of the flow (Gr x < 4.3 × 107), the predicted normalised burning rate, [mdot] p x, is a power-law function of Gr x with an exponent close to that of the LBL theory, surface re-radiation being the primary source of discrepancies. From the LBL theory for free flow, it is demonstrated that the local burning rate is inversely proportional to the shear velocity gradient. This is globally confirmed by numerical model results. At Gr x = 4.3 × 107 the change in slope of the burning rate observed experimentally, which indicates the end of the laminar flow region, is reproduced numerically. From Gr x = 2.5 × 109 model results show that the surface mass flux of pyrolyzate increases with x, in agreement with experimental data in literature.  相似文献

Since strain localization is a precursor of failure, it is an important subject to address in the field of geomechanics. Strain localization has been analysed for geomaterials by several researchers. Many of the studies, however, treated the problems brought about by strain localization as two-dimensional problems, although the phenomena are generally three-dimensional. In the present study, undrained triaxial compression tests using rectangular specimens and their numerical simulation are conducted in order to investigate the strain localization behaviour of geomaterials under three-dimensional conditions. In the experiments, both normally consolidated and over-consolidated clay samples are tested with different strain rates. Using the distribution of shear strain obtained by an image analysis of digital photographs taken during deformation, the effects of the strain rates, the dilation, and the over-consolidation on strain localization are studied in detail. The analysis method used in the numerical simulation is a coupled fluid-structure finite element method. The method is based on the finite deformation theory, in which an elasto-viscoplastic model for water-saturated clay, which can consider structural changes, is adopted. The results of the simulation include not only the distribution of shear strain on the surfaces of the specimens, but also the distributions of strain, stress, and pore water pressure inside the specimens. Through a comparison of the experimental results and the simulation results, the mechanisms of strain localization are studied under three-dimensional conditions.  相似文献

Single crystalline Al2O3 fibres (sapphire), coated with the NiAl alloy IP75 by physical vapour deposition (PVD), were assembled to fabricate composites by means of diffusion bonding. The microstructure and chemistry of both as-coated fibre and as-diffusion bonded composites were investigated by electron microscopy and microanalysis. The interface shear stress for complete debonding was measured by fibre push-out tests at room temperature, and the composite tensile strength was measured at 900°C and 1100°C. An amorphous layer with a thickness of about 400?nm formed between the fibre and the matrix during the PVD process and was maintained during diffusion bonding. A Laves phase precipitated along NiAl grain boundaries in the IP75 matrix. This caused a lower tensile strength of the IP75/Al2O3 composite at high temperatures compared to as-cast monolithic IP75 and rendered the composite useless for structural applications.  相似文献
