A survey on the mechanisms of powerful terahertz (THz) radiation from laser plasmas is presented.Firstly,an analytical model is described,showing that a transverse net current formed in a plasma can be converted into THz radiations at the plasma oscillation frequency.This theory is applied to explain THz generation in a gas driven by two-color laser pulses.It is also applied to THz generation in a tenuous plasma driven by a chirped laser pulse,a few-cycle laser pulse,a DC/AC bias electric field.These are well verified by particle-in-cell simulations,demonstrating that THz radiations produced in these approaches are nearly single-cycles and linear polarized.In the chirped laser scheme and the few-cycle laser scheme,THz radiations with the peak field strength of tens of MV/cm and the peak power of gigawatt can be achieved with the incident laser intensity less than 10 17 W/cm 2. 相似文献

We propose employing multi-beam propagating technology to mitigate the influence of atmospheric scintillation to the wireless optical code division multiple access (WOCDMA) system and then deduce the bit error rate (BER) formulas of systems in weak and strong scintillations,respectively.According to simulation experiment results,multi-beam propagation can improve the system performance very well compared with single-beam propagating technique.Moreover,the more beams we use,the better the performance we get.When the received optical power is-30 dBm,the BER of the system employing four beams is 5 and 1 dB lower than that of using single-beam propagating technique in weak and strong scintillations,respectively. 相似文献

An information hiding method based on the optical interference principle is proposed. In this method, a secret image can be obtained by two light beams' interference. One of the beams is modulated by our assigned host image; and the other is modulated by a noise-like complex distribution, which is regard as the encrypted image. The transmission of the encrypted image can be implemented by hiding it in the host image to prevent the communication from being perceived by unauthorized person. In addition, this method can also realize simultaneous encryption and hiding for two images. A novel configuration using only one Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) for photonic-assisted instantaneous microwave frequency measurement is proposed. The amplitude comparison function (ACF), related to the input microwave frequency while independent of the input optical power and modulate index, is achieved by using a ratio of low-pass to bandpass frequency responses introduced by intensity and phase modulation with a shared MZI. The microwave frequency can be estimated by the measured ACF. A proof-of-concept experiment for measurement of RF from 5 to 10 GHz is successfully demonstrated with the measurement errors less than ± 0.2 GHz. 相似文献

Two-dimensional (2D) rod-type photonic crystal (PC) line defect waveguide (LDW) laser cavities based on three types of line defect modes with zero group velocity are studied by using finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. These laser cavities have high quality (Q) factor, better localization of light, non-uniform gain distribution and small overlap between gain medium and light field. Therefore, they have the advantages over conventional and air-bridge PC cavities with uniform gain, such as low threshold, single mode lasing and effectively avoiding thermal effect. From their comparison, one can find the mode at middle Brillouin zones (BZ) is the best one to be used as lasing mode. Its dynamic lasing process and lasing features are demonstrated by the numerical experiment where the FDTD method coupling Maxwell's equations with the rate equations of electronic population is used. 相似文献

The results of an experimental study of quantum correction of electron-electron interaction (EEI) to the conductivity of two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) in an undoped heterostructure are reported. A small but significant decrease of the Hall slope with the increase of temperature was discovered. This is not due to the increase of electron concentration as temperature increases but to the EEI effect. Both diffusion and ballistic contributions of EEI to the conductivity of 2DEG were observed. As the temperature increases, the negative diffusion EEI correction to the conductivity increases in an absolute value while the ballistic EEI correction reduces to a renormalization of the transport mobility. 相似文献

This work investigated the effect of infusion of a self-made ultrasound contrast agent with long persistence (named ZHIFUXIAN) on rat right ventricular pressure and made a preliminary evaluation on the relative safety of the novel microbubbles. Normal saline, SonoVue and ZHIFUXIAN were injected through caudal vein at the total volume of 0.5 ml for each injection. The right ventricular systolic pressure (RVSP) and end-diastolic pressure (RVEDP) were monitored and the changes of the pressure were compared with baseline readings. RVSP increased when saline, SonoVue or ZHIFUXIAN were injected, the greatest change being after SonoVue (about 2 mm Hg), but there was no statistical significance compared with baseline (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in RVSP between saline, SonoVue and ZHIFUXIAN at any time point. Also, there was no significant difference in RVEDP between groups at each time point and between different time points in each group. The results indicate that the self-made microbubbles effect on right ventricular hemodynamics is equivalent to that of normal saline at the same volume needed for effective enhanced imaging, demonstrating that it does not produce changes in right ventricular blood pressure under the study conditions.
