The understanding of the gas dynamics of the atmospheric pressure interface is very important for the development of mass spectrometry systems with high sensitivity. While the gas flows at high pressure (>1 Torr) and low pressure (<10–3 Torr) stages are relatively well understood and could be modeled using continuum and molecular flows, respectively, the theoretical modeling or numeric simulation of gas flow through the transition pressure stage (1 to 10–3 Torr) remains challenging. In this study, we used the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DMSC) method to develop the gas dynamic simulations for the continuous and discontinuous atmospheric pressure interfaces (API), with different focuses on the ion transfer by gas flows through a skimmer or directly from the atmospheric pressure to a vacuum stage, respectively. The impacts by the skimmer location in the continuous API and the temporal evolvement of the gas flow with a discontinuous API were characterized, which provide a solid base for the instrument design and performance improvement. The complex formation of 2-hexadecylcarbamoyl-8-hydroxyquinoline(HHQ) monolayers at the air/water interface by reaction with metal ions from the subphase was investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The formation of HHQ-metal complexes leads to the appearance of new peaks assigned to the metal ions. The information on stoichimoetry provided by XPS indicated that a metal ion is coordinated by two HHQ molecules for La3+ and Cd2+ ions, but by one HHQ molecule for Mn2+ and Ni2+ ions. 相似文献

Space charge effects play important roles in the performance of various types of mass analyzers. Simulation of space charge effects is often limited by the computation capability. In this study, we evaluate the method of using graphics processing unit (GPU) to accelerate ion trajectory simulation. Simulation using GPU has been compared with multi-core central processing unit (CPU), and an acceleration of about 390 times have been obtained using a single computer for simulation of up to 105 ions in quadrupole ion traps. Characteristics of trapped ions can be investigated at detailed levels within a reasonable simulation time. Space charge effects on the trapping capacities of linear and 3D ion traps, ion cloud shapes, ion motion frequency shift, mass spectrum peak coalescence effects between two ion clouds of close m/z are studied with the ion trajectory simulation using GPU. 相似文献

An ionic liquid (IL) modified carbon ceramic electrode (CCE) was designed and further used for the voltammetric detection of rutin in this paper. IL-CCE was prepared by mixing graphite powder with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMIMBF4) doped silicate sol-gel matrix together and further characterized by different methods. Then electrochemical behaviors of rutin on the IL-CCE were investigated by different electrochemical methods such as cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Due to the presence of IL in the CCE, an enhanced electrochemical response of rutin appeared with a pair of well-defined redox peaks in pH 2.5 phosphate buffer solution (PBS). The electrochemical behaviors of rutin on the IL-CCE were carefully investigated. Under the selected conditions the oxidation peak currents exhibited good linear relationship with the rutin concentration in the range from 0.3 to 100.0 μmol/L with the detection limit as 0.09 μmol/L (3σ). The application of pore-gradient polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PG-PAGE) incorporated with carbon nanotube modified by Triton X-100 and carboxylation so as to improve the separation of human serum proteins is reported. The novel PG-PAGE was made by adding water-soluble single-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) when preparing the polyacrylamide gel. Significant improvements in separation of complement C3 protein and haptoglobin (Hp) in human serum were achieved. It was estimated that the interactions between the hydrophilic groups on the proteins and the surface of the CNTs result in different adsorption kinetics of complement C3 and Hp subtype on the nanoparticles incorporated in the gel, thus enhancing the separation of the two proteins in serum. This new CNT matrix-assisted PG-PAGE method for enhanced separation of complement C3 and Hp in human serum was successfully applied to distinguish the samples from liverish patients and healthy people. 相似文献
