Ammonia, a key precursor for fertilizer production, convenient hydrogen carrier, and emerging clean fuel, plays a pivotal role in sustaining life on Earth. Currently, the main route for NH3 synthesis is by the heterogeneous catalytic Haber–Bosch process (N2+3 H2→2 NH3), which proceeds under extreme conditions of temperature and pressure with a very large carbon footprint. Herein we report that a pristine nitrogen‐doped nanoporous graphitic carbon membrane (NCM) can electrochemically convert N2 into NH3 in an acidic aqueous solution under ambient conditions. The Faradaic efficiency and rate of production of NH3 on the NCM electrode reach 5.2 % and 0.08 g m?2 h?1, respectively. Functionalization of the NCM with Au nanoparticles dramatically enhances these performance metrics to 22 % and 0.36 g m?2 h?1, respectively. As this system offers the potential to be scaled to industrial levels it is highly likely that it might displace the century‐old Haber–Bosch process.  相似文献

The transmembrane protein HER2, a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor family of tyrosine kinase, plays important roles in many fundamental cellular processes as well as the pathogenesis of many cancers. In this work, we have applied the single-molecule fluorescence microscopic method to study lateral mobility change of HER2 on activation by imaging and tracking individual GFP-tagged HER2 molecules on the membrane of living cells. The single HER2 molecules displayed different diffusion rates and modes. It was interesting to find that the mobility of HER2 increased upon stimulation by heregulin beta1, the specific ligand of HER3. The faster diffusion was related to the tyrosine phosphorylation of HER2 or EGFR. The results provided new information for the understanding of HER2 activation and molecular mechanism of signal transduction through HER2/HER3 heterodimerization.  相似文献

The synthesis of the first two arylenealkyne conjugated macrocycles containing a long alkylene bridge via Glaser coupling of template-directed tetraacetylenes was reported. Tetraacetylene intermediates with complex structures were constructed rapidly via quadruple Hagihara coupling of monoprotected bisacetylenes to appropriate tetraiodides and subsequent desilylation. The characterization of such compounds was carried out by NMR, GPC and UV-Vis spectra. An analytical method is developed and validated for the quantitative determination of finasteride, a potent 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor, in human plasma. Calibration curves are linear in the concentration range of 1 to 100 ng/mL. Sample pretreatment involves a liquid-liquid extraction with ethyl acetate using 0.2 mL aliquots of plasma. Finasteride and the internal standard (beclomethasone) are separated on a Waters Symmetry Shield RP18 column (50 x 2.1 mm, 3.5 microm) and eluted using a gradient mobile phase composed of acetonitrile and 10mM ammonium acetate with 0.1% formic acid. The column eluant is monitored by mass spectrometry with electrospray ionization. A complete validation of the method is performed. For quality control samples at three different concentrations that were analyzed in quintuplicate, on six separate occasions, the accuracy and precision range from 95.2% to 101% and 3.4% to 7.3%, respectively. The developed method is subsequently applied to measure the steady state finasteride concentration of patients who participated in the Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial.  相似文献

Fricke gel dosimeters have great potential for three-dimensional (3D) dose verification in radiation therapy; however, they suffer from time-dependent ion diffusion after irradiation, severely affecting their stability and reliability. In this work, a pullulan-based amphiphilic molecule was synthesized, characterized, and self-assembled into nanogels. Nanogel structures were embedded into gel dosimeters to reduce the diffusion rates, and radiation-sensitive nanogel-incorporated Fricke hydrogel nanocomposites were prepared successfully. The results demonstrated that the diffusion coefficient of improved dosimeters was reduced to 0.125 ± 0.001 mm2 h−1, while maintaining the high optical dose sensitivity (0.0410 ± 0.0004 Gy−1 cm−1). It provides a powerful tool toward the practical application of 3D dosimeters.  相似文献

Aqueous redox flow batteries (ARFBs) are a promising technology for grid-scale energy storage, however, their commercial success relies on redox-active materials (RAM) with high electron storage capacity and cost competitiveness. Herein, a redox-active material lithium ferrocyanide (Li4[Fe(CN)6]) is designed. Li+ ions not only greatly boost the solubility of [Fe(CN)6]4− to 2.32 M at room temperature due to weak intermolecular interactions, but also improves the electrochemical performance of [Fe(CN)6]4−/3−. By coupling with Zn, ZIRFBs were built, and the capacity of the batteries was as high as 61.64 Ah L−1 (pH-neutral) and 56.28 Ah L−1 (alkaline) at a [Fe(CN)6]4− concentration of 2.30 M and 2.10 M. These represent unprecedentedly high [Fe(CN)6]4− concentrations and battery energy densities reported to date. Moreover, benefiting from the low cost of Li4[Fe(CN)6], the overall chemical cost of alkaline ZIRFB is as low as $11 per kWh, which is one-twentieth that of the state-of-the-art VFB ($211.54 per kWh). This work breaks through the limitations of traditional electrolyte composition optimization and will strongly promote the development of economical [Fe(CN)6]4−/3−-based RFBs in the future.  相似文献
