$$L^2_f$$ L f 2 -harmonic 1-forms on smooth metric measure spaces with positive $$\lambda _1(\Delta _f)$$ λ 1 ( Δ f )

In this paper, we study vanishing and splitting results on a complete smooth metric measure space \((M^n,g,\mathrm {e}^{-f}\mathrm {d}v)\) with various negative m-Bakry-Émery Ricci curvature lower bounds in terms of the first eigenvalue \(\lambda _1(\Delta _f)\) of the weighted Laplacian \(\Delta _f\), i.e., \(\mathrm {Ric}_{m,n}\ge -a\lambda _1(\Delta _f)-b\) for \(0<a\le \dfrac{m}{m-1}, b\ge 0\). In particular, we consider three main cases for different a and b with or without conditions on \(\lambda _1(\Delta _f)\). These results are extensions of Dung and Vieira, and weighted generalizations of Li-Wang, Dung-Sung, and Vieira.

O′-β′复相Sialon陶瓷中相组成的控制

用Si₃N₄,SiO₂和Al₂O_?作原料,以Y₂O_?为添加剂,研究了O’-β’所在的四个相容性区中组成,于1400—1800℃之间,O’和β’的形成动力学。O’于1400℃开始生成,1600℃达到最大形成量。高于1600℃,O’减少乃至消失。研究发现,O’的这种不稳定性,并非自身热分解的结果。Al含量的增加,液相出现和β’的形成,才是导致O’-Sialon溶解而消失的原因。 此外,认为Si₃N₄-O’(x=0.3)-Y₂Si₂O₇-YAG相容性区,是在制备具有合理的O’-β’平衡相组成的复相陶瓷时,可供实际选用的组成区。

Numerical solutions of the shallow water equations with discontinuous bed topography

A simple scheme is developed for treatment of vertical bed topography in shallow water flows. The effect of the vertical step on flows is modelled with the shallow water equations including local energy loss terms. The bed elevation is denoted with z_b^‐ for the left and z_b⁺ for the right values at each grid point, hence exactly representing a discontinuity in the bed topography. The surface gradient method (SGM) is generalized to reconstruct water depths at cell interfaces involving a vertical step so that the fluxes at the cell interfaces can accurately be calculated with a Riemann solver. The scheme is verified by predicting a surge crossing a step, a tidal flow over a step and dam‐break flows on wet/dry beds. The results have shown good agreements compared with analytical solutions and available experimental data. The scheme is efficient, robust, and may be used for practical flow calculations. 研究了V型三能级原子BEC与双模压缩光场相互作用系统中,忽略原子间相互作用和考虑原子间相互作用时光场的正交压缩和光子数压缩。结果表明,光场的正交压缩依赖于压缩参数,而光子数压缩与压缩参数、光场信号强度有关,在一定条件下,两种压缩可同时存在。原子间相互作用影响两种压缩的涨落随时间变化的周期,以及正交分量涨落随时间变化的幅度,而对光子数压缩涨落随时间变化的幅度几乎无影响。     

Observation of the nonlinear effect in relativistic Thomson scattering of electron and laser beams

Thomson scattering of high-power laser and electron beams is a good test of electrodynamics in the high-field region. We demonstrated production of high-intensity X-rays in the head-on collision of a CO₂ laser and 60-MeV electron beams at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Accelerator Test Facility. The energy of an X-ray photon was limited at 6.5 keV in the linear (lowest order) Thomson scattering, but the nonlinear (higher order) process produces higher energy X-rays. We measured the angular distribution of the high-energy X-rays and confirmed that it agrees with theoretical predictions.

New Electroweak Model Without a Higgs Particle

A new unified electroweak model is proposed in this paper. In this unified electroweak model, Higgsmechanism is not used, so no Higgs particle exists in the model. In order to keep the masses of intermediate gaugebosons non-zero, two sets of gauge fields will be introduced. In order to introduce symmetry breaking and to help tointroduce the masses of all fields, a vacuum potential is needed. Except for those terms concerning Higgs particle, thefundamental dynamical properties of this model are similar to those of the standard model. And in a proper limit, thismodel will approximately return to the standard model. The purpose of this paper is not to say that the Higgs particledoes not exist in Nature, it is only to prove that, without a Higgs particle, we can also set up a unified electroweak modelwhich is consistent with present experiments.
