Direct measurements of the bulk flow of a ferrofluid in a uniform rotating magnetic field were obtained using the ultrasonic velocity profile method. The fluid was observed to corotate with the field in a rigid-body-like fashion throughout the bulk of the container, except near the air-fluid interface, where it was observed to counterrotate. AlN nanocrystals were prepared in organic solvent at atmospheric pressure and low temperature by the Schlenk technique. Both hexagonal and cubic AlN nanocrystals were obtained. The hexagonal nano-AlN powder possessed a wurtzite structure with a=3.124 Å, c=5.024 Å, the average grain size was about 2 nm. The lattice constant of the cubic nano-AlN was a=9.171 Å, the average grain size was about 4 nm. The structural and optical properties of the obtained AlN were analyzed. We report a diode-pumped Pr3+:YAlO3 laser emitting at 747 nm. A power of 232 mW at 747 nm has been achieved in continuous-wave operation with a diode emitting
2 W at 448 nm. Furthermore, intracavity second-harmonic generation in continuous-wave mode has also been demonstrated with
a power of 52 mW at 374 nm by using a LBO nonlinear crystal. The fluctuation of the violet output power was better than 2.3%.

Achieving comprehensive information on thin film lattice dynamics so far has eluded well established spectroscopic techniques. We demonstrate here the novel application of grazing incidence inelastic x-ray scattering combined with ab initio calculations to determine the complete elastic stiffness tensor, the acoustic and low-energy optic phonon dispersion relations of thin wurtzite indium nitride films. In the t-J model, the electron fractionalization is dictated by the phase string effect. We find that in the underdoped regime, the antiferromagnetic and superconducting phases are dual: in the former, holons are confined while spinons are deconfined, and vice?versa in the latter. These two phases are separated by a novel phase, the so-called Bose-insulating phase, where both holons and spinons are deconfined. A pair of Wilson loops was found to constitute a complete set of order parameters determining this zero-temperature phase diagram. The quantum phase transitions between these phases are suggested to be of non-Landau-Ginzburg-Wilson type. 相似文献

The internal friction of partially Sr-substituted Pr(Ba1?xSrx)2Cu3O7?δ (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, and 0.4) ceramics was measured by the vibrating-reed method from liquid nitrogen temperature to room temperature at kilohertz frequencies. The intensity of the internal friction peak, which appears around 250 K, decreases upon Sr doping. The result is explained in terms of a possible combining structural freezing transition of CuO5 square pyramids and oxygen atoms in CuOx chains. Another internal friction peak around 134 K was observed in tetragonal Pr(Ba0.6Sr0.4)2Cu3O7?δ which is temporarily explained by the hopping of holes in the CuO2 layers. 相似文献
