Plasma Thermal Conversion of Methane to Acetylene   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
This paper describes a re-examination of a known process for the direct plasma thermal conversion of methane to acetylene. Conversion efficiencies (% methane converted) approached 100% and acetylene yields in the 90–95% range with 2–4% solid carbon production were demonstrated. Specificity for acetylene was higher than in prior work. Improvements in conversion efficiency, yield, and specificity were due primarily to improved injector design and reactant mixing, and minimization of temperature gradients and cold boundary layers. At the 60-kilowatt scale cooling by wall heat transfer appears to be sufficient to quench the product stream and prevent further reaction of acetylene resulting in the formation of heavier hydrocarbon products or solid carbon. Significantly increasing the quenching rate by aerodynamic expansion of the products through a converging–diverging nozzle led to a reduction in the yield of ethylene but had little effect on the yield of other hydrocarbon products. While greater product selectivity for acetylene has been demonstrated, the specific energy consumption per unit mass of acetylene produced was not improved upon. A kinetic model that includes the reaction mechanisms resulting in the formation of acetylene and heavier hydrocarbons, through benzene, is described.  相似文献

An untargeted metabolomics approach was used to investigate a cultured strain of Microcystis aeruginosa (UTEX LB2386) known to be a prolific producer of a diverse class of cyanopeptides. Identification of a putative new compound with a molecular weight of 996 led to the purification and structure elucidation of this new member of the micropeptin class of cyanopeptides. Micropeptin 996 displayed potent inhibition of the serine protease enzyme chymotrypisin relative to structurally related members of this class.  相似文献

N-[1-Alkylpyridin-4(1H)-ylidene]amides (PYAs) are a new class of easily prepared, neutral N-donor ligands that share some features in common with N-heterocyclic carbenes. They are strongly electron-donating toward metal centers, and a palladium(II) complex of one of these ligands has been shown to successfully catalyze both the Heck-Mizoroki and Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions.  相似文献

The structures of a series of spherical host-guest complexes [{MeE(PPh)(3)Li(4)·3thf}(4)(μ(4)-X)](-) (E = Al, [1X](-); E = Ga, [2X](-); E = In, [3X](-)) reveal that changing the halide ions (X = Cl, Br, or I) within their central tetrahedral Li(4) sites has negligible effect on the structural parameters.  相似文献

A candidate certified reference material (CRM) for multiple shellfish toxins (domoic acid, okadaic acid and dinophysistoxins, pectenotoxins, yessotoxin, azaspiracids and spirolides) has been prepared as a freeze-dried powder from mussel tissues (Mytilus edulis). Along with the certified values, the most important characteristics for a reference material to be fit-for-purpose are homogeneity and stability. Acceptable between-bottle homogeneity was found for this CRM. Within-bottle homogeneity was assessed using domoic acid, and it was shown that repeated subsampling of the CRM can be performed precisely down to 0.35 g. Both short- and long-term stability studies carried out under isochronous conditions demonstrated excellent stability of the various toxins present in the material. While degradation of some analytes was observed at +60°C in short-term studies, it was determined that shipping at ambient temperature is adequate. No instability was detected in long-term stability studies, and it was shown that the material can be held at +18°C safely for up to 1 year. To guarantee stability of the CRM over its lifetime the stock will be maintained at −20°C. The results of the homogeneity and stability testing show that CRM–FDMT1 is appropriate for its intended use in quality assurance and quality control of shellfish toxin analysis methods.  相似文献

The rapid source identification and environmental risk assessment (ERA) of hundreds of chemicals of emerging concern (CECs) in river water represent a significant analytical challenge. Herein, a potential solution involving a rapid direct-injection liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry method for the quantitative determination of 102 CECs (151 qualitatively) in river water is presented and applied across six rivers in Germany and Switzerland at high spatial resolution. The method required an injection volume of only 10 µL of filtered sample, with a runtime of 5.5 min including re-equilibration with >10 datapoints per peak per transition (mostly 2 per compound), and 36 stable isotope-labelled standards. Performance was excellent from the low ng/L to µg/L concentration level, with 260 injections possible in any 24 h period. The method was applied in three separate campaigns focusing on the ERA of rivers impacted by wastewater effluent discharges (1 urban area in the Basel city region with 4 rivers, as well as 1 semi-rural and 1 rural area, each focusing on 1 river). Between 25 and 40 compounds were quantified directly in each campaign, and in all cases small tributary rivers showed higher CEC concentrations (e.g., up to ~4000 ng/L in total in the R. Schwarzach, Bavaria, Germany). The source of selected CECs could also be identified and differentiated from other sources at pre- and post- wastewater treatment plant effluent discharge points, as well as the effect of dilution downstream, which occurred over very short distances in all cases. Lastly, ERA for 41 CECs was performed at specific impacted sites, with risk quotients (RQs) at 1 or more sites estimated as high risk (RQ > 10) for 1 pharmaceutical (diclofenac), medium risk (RQ of 1–10) for 3 CECs (carbamazepine, venlafaxine, and sulfamethoxazole), and low risk (RQ = 0.1–1.0) for 7 CECs (i.e., RQ > 0.1 for 11 CECs in total). The application of high-throughput methods like this could enable a better understanding of the risks of CECs, especially in low flow/volume tributary rivers at scale and with high resolution.  相似文献

Collision cross sections (CCS) have been measured for three salen ligands, and their complexes with copper and zinc using travelling-wave ion mobility-mass spectrometry (TWIMS) and drift tube ion mobility-mass spectrometry (DTIMS), allowing a comparative size evaluation of the ligands and complexes. CCS measurements using TWIMS were determined using peptide and TAAH calibration standards. TWIMS measurements gave significantly larger CCS than DTIMS in helium, by 9 % for TAAH standards and 3 % for peptide standards, indicating that the choice of calibration standards is important in ensuring the accuracy of TWIMS-derived CCS measurements. Repeatability data for TWIMS was obtained for inter- and intra-day studies with mean RSDs of 1.1 % and 0.7 %, respectively. The CCS data obtained from IM-MS measurements are compared to CCS values obtained via the projection approximation, the exact hard spheres method and the trajectory method from X-ray coordinates and modelled structures using density functional theory (DFT) based methods.  相似文献

It is well known that β-ketoesters are useful intermediates for the synthesis of a range of heterocyclic templates. While there are many useful synthetic methods available to access these intermediates, there are still opportunities for the discovery of useful methodologies for their construction from novel starting materials. In this regard, we report on the discovery of a facile Pd-catalyzed Mizoroki–Heck coupling of ethyl 3-ethoxyacrylate with aryl and heteroaryl halides to form substituted alkoxyacrylates which can be hydrolyzed to form novel aryl and heteroaryl β-ketoesters.  相似文献
