There is a one-to-one correspondence between inequivalent covariant displaced Fock representations of the free relativistic field and the 1-cohomology of the Poincaré group with coefficients in the 1-particle space.Representations with positive energy are obtained from cocycles with finite energy which have particle-like properties and are interpreted as condensed states of matter without a sharply defined mass.The 1-cohomology groups ofP + are calculated. These are trivial in 3- or 4-dimensional space-time, or if the mass is non-zero. Non-trivial cocycles for subgroups lead to representations in whichP-invariance is spontaneously broken. We recoverP-invariance in a direct integral representation possessing a gauge group, and a superselection structure labelled by the velocities of the condensed states of matter which are the cocycles determining each irreducible component of the representation. A model in 4-dimensional space-time is constructed.  相似文献

Supernovae are explosions of stars and are a central problem in astrophysics. Rayleigh–Taylor (RT) and Richtmyer–Meshkov (RM) instabilities develop during the star’s explosion and lead to intense interfacial RT/RM mixing of the star materials. We handle the mathematical challenges of the RT/RM problem based on the group theory approach. We directly link the conservation laws governing RT/RM dynamics to the symmetry-based momentum model, derive the model parameters, and find the analytical solutions and characteristics of RT/RM dynamics with variable accelerations in the linear, nonlinear and mixing regimes. The theory outcomes explain the astrophysical observations and yield the design of laboratory experiments. They suggest that supernova evolution is a non-equilibrium process directed by the arrow of time.  相似文献

Multi-anvil and laser-heated diamond anvil methods have been used to subject Ge and Si mixtures to pressures and temperatures of between 12 and 17 GPa and 1500–1800 K, respectively. Synchrotron angle dispersive X-ray diffraction, precession electron diffraction and chemical analysis using electron microscopy, reveal recovery at ambient pressure of hexagonal Ge−Si solid solutions (P63/mmc). Taken together, the multi-anvil and diamond anvil results reveal that hexagonal solid solutions can be prepared for all Ge−Si compositions. This hexagonal class of solid solutions constitutes a significant expansion of the bulk Ge−Si solid solution family, and is of interest for optoelectronic applications.  相似文献

This Concept article discusses recent applications of commercial organic superbases in modern synthetic methodologies. [structure: see text] The viability of proteins as targets of thermally and photoactivated enediynes has been confirmed at the molecular level. Model studies using a labeled substrate confirmed the efficacy of atom transfer from diyl radicals produced from enediynes to form captodatively stabilized carbon centered aminoacyl radicals, which then undergo either fragmentation or dimerization. To exploit this finding, a family of enediynes was developed using an intramolecular coupling strategy. Derivatives were prepared and used to target specific proteins, showing good correlation between affinity and photoinduced protein degrading activity. The findings have potential applications in the design of artificial chemical proteases and add to our understanding of the mechanism of action of the clinically important enediyne antitumor antibiotics.  相似文献

Small clusters of toluene(n) (n = 1-8) were created in a supersonic expansion of toluene with argon as a carrier gas. Mass-selected resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization spectra of these clusters were recorded for each n. For the dimer, the appearance of the spectrum under warm and very cold conditions was studied. We discuss previous results in the light of the present spectra. For n>2, the spectra resemble very closely that of the dimer.  相似文献

Nature has inspired an emergent supramolecular field of synthetic receptor arrays and assays for the pattern-based recognition of various bioanalytes and metal species. The synthetic receptors are not necessarily selective for a particular analyte, but the combined signal response from the array is diagnostic for the analyte. This tutorial review describes recent work in the literature for this emerging supramolecular field and details basic array and assay design principles. We review the analytes targeted, signaling types used, and pattern recognition.Developing specific receptors for the solution-based analysis of complex analytes and mixtures is a daunting task. A solution to this difficult task has been inspired by nature's use of arrays of receptors in the senses of taste and smell. An emerging field within supramolecular chemistry is the use of synthetic and readily available receptors in array formats for the detection of analytes in solution. Each receptor in a differential array does not necessarily have selectivity for a particular analyte, but the combined fingerprint response can be extracted as a diagnostic pattern visually, or using chemometric tools. This new genre of molecular recognition is advancing rapidly with several groups developing novel array platforms and receptors.  相似文献
