A series of bipolar host materials containing dibenzo[b,d]thiophene (DBT) or dibenzo[b,d]thiophene 5,5-dioxide core were successfully synthesized, and their physical, photophysical, and electrochemical properties were investigated. The three host materials showed well-localized electron distribution at the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) states, as evidenced by theoretical calculations. Triplet energies of the new host materials are higher than 2.6 eV, and the blend film with bis[2-(4,6-difluorophenyl)pyridinato-C2 Misra, A. et al. (2006). Semicond. Sci. Second-order rate constants (k(N)) were measured for aminolyses of Y-substituted-phenyl 2-methoxybenzoates 2a-i and 4-nitrophenyl X-substituted-benzoates 3a-j in MeCN at 25.0 °C. The Br?nsted-type plot for the reactions of 2a-i with piperidine curves downward, indicating that a change in rate-determining step (RDS) occurs. The Hammett plot for the reactions of 3a-j with piperidine consists of two intersecting straight lines, which might be taken as evidence for a change in RDS. However, the nonlinear Hammett plot has been suggested not to be due to a change in RDS but rather to the stabilization of the ground state of substrates possessing an electron-donating group (EDG) (e.g., 3a-c) through a resonance interaction, since the corresponding Yukawa-Tsuno plot exhibits an excellent linear correlation with ρ = 0.54 and r = 1.54. The ρ value found for the reactions of 3a-j in MeCN is much smaller than that reported previously for the corresponding reactions in H(2)O (i.e., ρ = 0.75). It is proposed that the reactions of 3a-j in MeCN proceed through a forced concerted mechanism due to instability of T(±) in the aprotic solvent, while the reactions of 2a-i proceed through a stepwise pathway with a stabilized T(±) through an intramolecular H-bonding interaction.  相似文献

Eisenia bicyclis (Kjellman) Setchell is a common brown alga that inhabits the middle Pacific coast around Korea and Japan. In this study, the ethanol extract and its serial solvent fractions were prepared from fresh E. bicyclis, and their hepatoprotective effects were investigated against hepatotoxicity in tert-butyl hyperoxide(t-BHP)-injured HepG2 cells. When these samples were used at a dose of 10-40 μg/mL?1, they significantly protected the t-BHP-induced cell death in HepG2 cells. Among fractions, ethyl acetate fraction (EF) and n-butanol extract (BF) exhibited potent hepatoprotective activities (62.60% for EF and 64.86% for BF) in t-BHP-injured HepG2 cells at a concentration of 10 μg/mL?1. To find the potential factors for this activity, the samples were characterized on total phenolics, chlorophylls, carotenoids, and radical scavenging activity. Among them, EF showed the highest content of total phenolics and the strongest antioxidant activity both in on- and offline assays. Five phlorotannin compounds, oligomers of phloroglucinol, were isolated chromatographically from this fraction and structurally identified by (1)H-NMR and liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry analyses as eckol(1), 6,6'-bieckol(2), 8,8'-bieckol(3), dieckol(4), and phlorofucofuroeckol A(5). Compound 5 among five purified compounds showed the strongest protective activity (45.54%) at a concentration of 10 μM. At the high dose (40 μM), the protective activities of three compounds (compound 2, 4, and 5) were higher than that of quercetin treated with 10 μM concentration. Therefore, we can speculate that they can be developed as potential candidates for natural hepatoprotective agents.  相似文献

A hole‐injection/transport bilayer structure on an indium tin oxide (ITO) layer was fabricated using two photocrosslinkable polymers with different molecular energy levels. Two photoreactive polymers were synthesized using 2,7‐(or 3,6‐)‐dibromo‐9‐(6‐((3‐methyloxetan‐3‐yl)methoxy)hexyl)‐9H‐carbazole) and 2,4‐dimethyl‐N,N‐bis(4‐ (4,4,5,5‐tetramethyl‐1,3,2‐dioxaborolan‐2‐yl)phenyl)aniline via a Suzuki coupling reaction. When the oxetane groups were photopolymerized in the presence of a cationic photoinitiator, the photocured film showed good solvent resistance and compatibility with a poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK)‐based emitting layer. Without the use of a conventional hole injection layer (HIL) of poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene)/(polystyrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), the resulting green light‐emitting device bearing PVK: 5‐4‐tert‐butylphenyl‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole (PBD):Ir(Cz‐ppy)3 exhibited a maximum external quantum efficiency of 9.69%; this corresponds to a luminous efficiency of 29.57 cd/A for the device K‐4 configuration ITO/POx‐I/POx‐II/PVK:PBD:Ir(Cz‐ppy)3/triazole/Alq3/LiF/Al. These values are much higher than those of PLEDs using conventional PEDOT:PSS as a single HIL. The significant improvement in device efficiency is the result of suppression of the hole injection/transport properties through double‐layered photocrosslinked‐conjugated polymers. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Fucoxanthin, one of the main marine carotenoids, is abundant in macro- and microalgae. Here, fucoxanthin was isolated and structurally identified as the major carotenoid in the diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum through chromatographic and spectroscopic methods, such as liquid chromatography–positive-ion atmospheric pressure chemical ionization/mass spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance. This pigment was quantified by reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography, and a number of extraction procedures were assessed to investigate the effect of solvent type, extraction time, temperature, and extraction method (maceration, ultrasound-assisted extraction, Soxhlet extraction, and pressurized liquid extraction). Among the investigated solvents, ethanol provided the best fucoxanthin extraction yield (15.71 mg/g freeze-dried sample weight). Fucoxanthin content in the extracts produced by the different methods was quite constant (15.42–16.51 mg/g freeze-dried sample weight) but increased steeply based on the percentage of ethanol in water, emphasizing the importance of ethanol in the extraction. The results indicate that P. tricornutum is a rich source of fucoxanthin (at least ten times more abundant than that in macroalgae) that is easily extracted with ethanol, suggesting potential applications in human and animal food, health, and cosmetics.  相似文献

Forest biomass is a promising resource for future biofuels and bioproducts. Pre-pulping extraction of hemicellulose by alkaline (Green Liquor) pretreatment produces a neutral-pH extract containing hemicellulose-derived oligomers. A near-term option for use of this extract is to hydrolyze the oligomers to fermentable monomer sugars. Chips of mixed northern hardwoods were cooked in a rocking digester at 160 °C for 110 min in Green Liquor at a concentration of 3% Na2O equivalent salts on dry wood. The mass of wood extracted into the Green Liquor extract was approximately 11.4% of the debarked wood mass, which resulted in a dilute solution of oligomeric hemicelluloses sugars. The concentration of the extract was increased through partial evaporation prior to hydrolysis. Dilute sulfuric acid hydrolysis was applied at conditions ranging from 100 to 160 °C, 2% to 6% (w/v) H2SO4, and 2- to 258-min residence time. The maximum fermentable sugar concentration achieved from evaporated extract was 10.7 g/L, representing 90.7% of the maximum possible yield. Application of the biomass pretreatment severity function to the hydrolysis results proved to offer a relatively poor prediction of temperature and reaction time interaction. The combined severity function, which incorporates reaction time, temperature, and acid concentration, did prove to provide a useful means of trading off the combined effects of these three variables on total sugar yields.  相似文献
