We present results of Monte Carlo computer simulations of a coarse-grained hydrophobic-polar Gō-like heteropolymer model and discuss thermodynamic properties and kinetics of an exemplified heteropolymer, exhibiting two-state folding behavior. It turns out that general, characteristic folding features of realistic proteins with a single free-energy barrier can also be observed in this simplified model, where the folding transition is primarily driven by the hydrophobic force.  相似文献

The nuclear spin dynamics in an asymmetrically doped 16-nm AlAs quantum well grown along the [001] direction has been studied experimentally using the time decay of the Overhauser shift of paramagnetic resonance of conduction electrons. The nonzero spin polarization of nuclei causing the initial observed Overhauser shift is due the relaxation of the nonequilibrium spin polarization of electrons into the nuclear subsystem near electron paramagnetic resonance owing to the hyperfine interaction. The measured relaxation time of nuclear spins near the unity filling factor is (530 ± 30) min at the temperature T = 0.5 K. This value exceeds the characteristic spin relaxation times of nuclei in GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures by more than an order of magnitude. This fact indicates the decrease in the strength of the hyperfine interaction in the AlAs quantum well in comparison with GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures.  相似文献

Screening of excitonic states by a system of 2D electrons (or holes) in GaAs/AlGaAs single quantum wells is studied. With increasing concentration of 2D charge carriers, a threshold-type disappearance of excitonic states is observed in both luminescence and reflectance spectra. The higher the quality of the 2D system, the lower the corresponding threshold concentration. In the best systems, the collapse of excitonic states occurs at unexpectedly low electron densities n e =5×109 cm?2, which correspond to the mean dimensionless distance between the particles r s =8. This value far exceeds the threshold values observed for 3D systems (r s ≈2), as well as the values obtained for quantum wells in previous studies. The problem of measuring the concentration of low-density 2D charge carriers in photoexcitation conditions is solved by applying the method of optical detection of the dimensional magnetoplasma resonance. This method provides reliable measurements of the density of a 2D system to the values about 109 cm?2.  相似文献

The 3G-inequality for Green functions g D on arbitrary bounded domains in ${{\mathbb{R}}^2}$ , which Bass and Burdzy (Probab Theory Relat Fields 101(4):479–493, 1995) obtained by a genuinely probabilistic proof (using loops of Brownian motion around the origin), is proven (in a more precise form) employing elementary properties of harmonic measures only. Since harmonic measures are hitting distributions of Brownian motion, this purely analytic proof can be viewed as well as being probabilistic. We present measurements of the magnetoresistance of a two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) under continuous microwave as a function of the irradiation frequency. In a previous work by Simovič et al. [Phys. Rev. B 71 (2005) 233303], the magnetoresistance under microwave was shown to be modulated by oscillations of large amplitude that are periodic with magnetic field, their period and phase depending strongly on the electron density. Here we show that the phase and the amplitude of the microwave-induced oscillations also depend on the frequency of irradiation and the sign of the magnetic field.  相似文献
