A variable B0 field static (broadline) NMR study of a large suite of niobate materials has enabled the elucidation of high‐precision measurement of 93Nb NMR interaction parameters such as the isotropic chemical shift (δiso), quadrupole coupling constant and asymmetry parameter (CQ and ηQ), chemical shift span/anisotropy and skew/asymmetry (Ω/Δδ and κ/ηδ) and Euler angles (α, β, γ) describing the relative orientation of the quadrupolar and chemical shift tensorial frames. These measurements have been augmented with ab initio DFT calculations by using WIEN2k and NMR‐CASTEP codes, which corroborate these reported values. Unlike previous assertions made about the inability to detect CSA (chemical shift anisotropy) contributions from NbV in most oxo environments, this study emphasises that a thorough variable B0 approach coupled with the VOCS (variable offset cumulative spectroscopy) technique for the acquisition of undistorted broad (?1/2?+1/2) central transition resonances facilitates the unambiguous observation of both quadrupolar and CSA contributions within these 93Nb broadline data. These measurements reveal that the 93Nb electric field gradient tensor is a particularly sensitive measure of the immediate and extended environments of the NbV positions, with CQ values in the 0 to >80 MHz range being measured; similarly, the δiso (covering an approximately 250 ppm range) and Ω values (covering a 0 to approximately 800 ppm range) characteristic of these niobate systems are also sensitive to structural disposition. However, their systematic rationalisation in terms of the Nb? O bond angles and distances defining the immediate NbV oxo environment is complicated by longer‐range influences that usually involve other heavy elements comprising the structure. It has also been established in this study that the best computational method(s) of analysis for the 93Nb NMR interaction parameters generated here are the all‐electron WIEN2k and the gauge included projector augmented wave (GIPAW) NMR‐CASTEP DFT approaches, which account for the short‐ and long‐range symmetries, periodicities and interaction‐potential characteristics for all elements (and particularly the heavy elements) in comparison with Gaussian 03 methods, which focus on terminated portions of the total structure. 相似文献

A new method to seal water in silver tubes for use in a TC/EA (thermal conversion/elemental analyzer) reduction unit using a semi‐automated sealing apparatus can yield reproducibilities (1 standard deviation) of δ2H and δ18O measurements of 1.0‰ and 0.06‰, respectively. These silver tubes containing reference waters may be preferred for the calibration of H‐ and O‐bearing materials analyzed with a TC/EA reduction unit. The new sealing apparatus employs a computer‐controlled stepping motor to produce silver tubes identical in length. The reproducibility of the mass of water sealed in tubes (in a range of 200–400 µg) can be as good as 1%. Approximately 99% of the sealed silver tubes are satisfactory (leak free). Although silver tubes sealed with reference waters are robust and can be shaken or heated to 110°C with no loss of integrity, they should not be frozen because the expansion during the phase transition of water to ice will break the cold seals and all the water will be lost. The tubes should be shipped in insulated containers. This new method eliminates air inclusions and isotopic fractionation of water associated with the loading of water into capsules using a syringe. The method is also more than an order of magnitude faster than preparing water samples in ordinary Ag capsules. Nevertheless, some laboratories may prefer loading water into silver capsules because expensive equipment is not needed, but users of this method are cautioned to apply the necessary corrections for evaporation, back exchange with laboratory atmospheric moisture, and blanks. A new method for generating group 3 metal complexes containing radical-anionic 2,2'-bipyridyl (bipy) ligands is described that relies on hydrogen-atom abstraction from dearomatized biheterocyclic complexes. This method does not involve electron transfer to neutral 2,2'-bipyridyl or salt metathesis between the lithium salt of the 2,2'-bipyridyl radical anion and group 3 metal halides. The new metal complexes were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, electron paramagnetic resonance, and absorption spectroscopy. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were used to probe the electronic structure of these compounds. To identify new protein and pharmacological regulators of Wnt/β-catenin signaling, we used a cell-based reporter assay to screen a collection of 1857 human-experienced compounds for their ability to enhance activation of the β-catenin reporter by a low concentration of WNT3A. This identified 44 unique compounds, including the FDA-approved drug riluzole, which is presently in clinical trials for treating melanoma. We found that treating melanoma cells with riluzole in?vitro enhances the ability of WNT3A to regulate gene expression, to promote pigmentation, and to decrease cell proliferation. Furthermore riluzole, like WNT3A, decreases metastases in a mouse melanoma model. Interestingly, siRNAs targeting the metabotropic glutamate receptor, GRM1, a reported indirect target of riluzole, enhance β-catenin signaling. The unexpected regulation of β-catenin signaling by both riluzole and GRM1 has implications for the future uses of this drug. 相似文献

The A1A" state of isocyanogen, CNCN, is observed using photofragment fluorescence excitation spectroscopy in a room temperature cell and in a molecular beam. The spectra are highly congested, but progressions that correspond to the Franck-Condon active C-N-C bending vibration in the excited state are evident. Linewidth measurements indicate that the excited state lifetime is <10 ps. These measurements are consistent with previous ab initio calculations, which predicted a bent excited state with a short lifetime due to predissociation. Although we do not believe that we have observed the origin band of the electronic transition, we place an upper limit of 42,523 cm(-1) on the energy of the excited state zero point level. 相似文献

“Chemistry‐on‐the‐complex” synthetic methods have allowed the selective addition of 1‐ethynylpyrene appendages to the 3‐, 5‐, 3,8‐ and 5,6‐positions of IrIII‐coordinated 1,10‐phenanthroline via Sonogashira cross‐coupling. The resulting suite of complexes has given rise to the first rationalization of their absorption and emission properties as a function of the number and position of the pyrene moieties. Strong absorption in the visible region (e.g. 3,8‐substituted Ir‐3 : λabs=481 nm, ?=52 400 m ?1 cm?1) and long‐lived triplet excited states (e.g. 5‐substituted Ir‐2 : τT=367.7 μs) were observed for the complexes in deaerated CH2Cl2. On testing the series as triplet sensitizers for triplet–triplet annihilation upconversion, those IrIII complexes bearing pyrenyl appendages at the 3‐ and 3,8‐positions ( Ir‐1 , Ir‐3 ) were found to give optimal upconversion quantum yields (30.2 % and 31.6 % respectively). 相似文献

The assembly and direct imaging of ferromagnetic nanoparticles into one-dimensional mesostructures (1-D) are reported. Polymer-coated ferromagnetic colloids (19 nm, 24 nm) were assembled at a crosslinkable oil-water interface under both magnetic field induced and zero-field conditions and permanently fixed into 1-D mesoscopic polymer chains (1-9 mum) in a process referred to as Fossilized Liquid Assembly (FLA). In the FLA process, nanoparticle chains were fixed at the oil interface through photopolymerization, enabling direct visualization of organized mesostructures using atomic force microscopy. Using the FLA methodology, we systematically investigated different conditions and demonstrated that dispersed ferromagnetic colloids possess sufficient dipolar interactions to organize into mesoscopic assemblies. Application of an external magnetic field during assembly enabled the formation of micron-sized chains which were aligned in the direction of the applied field. This universal methodology is an attractive alternative technique to cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (cryo-TEM) for the visualization of nanoparticle assembly in dispersed organic media. 相似文献
