The differential cross section of the reactionγ+p→π + was measured at pion CM-angles of 20° and 30° for photon energies between 500 MeV and 1,400 MeV. The pions were detected in a magnetic spectrometer. By measuring each pion trajectory and by offline calculation of the initial pion parameters an energy resolution of about 2.5% FWHM was achieved. The results complete a set of data which were measured in recent years at the Bonn 2.5 GeV synchrotron. In comparison to photoproduction analyses two effects were revealed: The η cusp appears in the energy dependence of the cross section as a sharp drop atK γ=710 MeV. In the region of the third resonance the data show a greater enhancement than predicted by most of the analyses. 相似文献

The question whether scalar-type interactions contribute to weak interactions at large momentum transfer has been investigated by a measurement of the longitudinal polarization of positive muons produced in charged-current interactions of high-energy antineutrinos with iron. At an average momentum transfer <Q 2>=4 GeV2 the muon spin is found to be oriented forward with respect to the muon momentum vector, with an average polarization of 1.10±0.24, consistent with positive helicity. A limit on scalar contributions of σs, p/σtot <7% at the 95% confidence level can be deduced. A search for violation of time reversal invariance which could manifest itself by a polarization component perpendicular to the muon production plane gave a limit of σtv/σtot <16% (95% c.l.). It is concluded that the weak leptonic charged current retains its dominant vector and axial vector structure at large momentum transfers. 相似文献

The photoablation of polystyrene (PS) and polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) was studied in real-time during the uv laser pulse at 193 nm. The transmission and total reflection of thin polymer layers on quartz glass substrates was measured time-resolved. From the results for the strongly absorbing PS it can be concluded that the emission of material starts within the first few nanoseconds of the laser pulse. Photoablation of PMMA, which is a relatively weak absorber at 193 nm, is accompanied by strong modifications of the transmission by the first several ten laser pulses. 相似文献

DC magnetron sputtered tungsten: W film properties and electrical properties of W/Si Schottky diodes
Deposition of metallic tungsten (W) thin films on silicon substrates has been carried out using dc magnetron sputtering in argon or xenon gas. The deposition of W films was investigated at various working gas pressures, while the entire deposited W films were obtained at fixed power. The stress, resistivity, and structure of the W films were systematically determined as a function of the pressure of both argon and xenon. A compressive-to-tensile stress transition is observed as the working gas pressure is increased. The transition occurs at a critical pressure and coincides with a significant decrease of the grain size and an increase of the W-film resistivity. The stress transition of W-sputtered films with argon is associated with the transformation of -W phase into -W phase. The films deposited in xenon always exhibit the -W structure. In addition, a change in the Schottky barrier height (SBH) on n-type silicon of about 40±10 meV is observed at the critical pressure. On the other hand, the barrier height on the p-type silicon remains constant under all the experimental conditions investigated. These last results indicate that the Fermi level at the interface is pinned with respect to the valence band edge. The observed variation of the barrier height on n-type Si is discussed in terms of defects, change of the work function of the metal (W), and modification of the band gap of Si. A variety of research activities in the field of fundamental and applied nuclear physics has evolved in the last years using
resonantly tuned radiation from powerful lasers. The technique of resonance ionization spectroscopy has delivered outstanding
results and found broad acceptance in the last years as a particularly efficient and highly selective method for rare and
exotic radioisotope studies. It is used for production, spectroscopy and detection of these species and provides complete
isobaric, high isotopic and even some isomeric selection, which altogether is needed for on-line investigation of short lived
species far off stability as well as for ultra trace determination. Good overall efficiency pushes the experimental limits
of detection in elemental trace analysis down to below 106 atoms per sample, and additionally isotopic selectivity as high as 3 × 1012 has been demonstrated. The widespread potential of resonance ionization techniques is discussed, focusing on the experimental
arrangements for applications in selective on-line isotope production, spectroscopy of rare radioisotopes and ultra trace
