Improvement of window thermal performance using aerogel insulation film for building energy saving

In buildings, windows have a major influence on space heating demand and indoor environment both with respect to climate and daylight. To reduce the window coefficient of the overall heat transmission, we use aerogel. Aerogels have a high surface area, low density, open pore structure, and excellent insulation properties. We mixed pressure sensitive adhesive and aerogel (10, 15, and 20 mass%) using a homogenizer. A mixture of the adhesives and silica aerogels attached film can reduce thermal conductivity. Silica aerogels are characterized by a surface area analyzer (BET), a Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, a thermogravimetry (TG) analyzer, and probe tack method. Thermal conductivity was measured by a TCi thermal conductivity analyzer.     

Sulfinate Esters from Methoxymethyl Sulfides

Several benzene (or phenylmethane) sulfinate esters were synthesized in 53–98% yields from the corresponding methoxymethyl (MOM) sulfides employing NBS as oxidant.     

Selective Oxidation of Alcohols with a New Reagent: Iron(III) Nitrate Supported on Aluminum Silicate

A selective and effective oxidation of alcohols, except aliphatic alcohols, such as 1‐hexanol or 1‐octyl alcohol, to the corresponding aldehydes and ketones using a new reagent, iron(III) nitrate supported on aluminum silicate, under heterogeneous conditions with reflux with 85–98% yield is described.     

Further Implications of the Bessis–Moussa–Villani Conjecture

We find further implications of the BMV conjecture, which states that for hermitian matrices B≥0 and A, the function is the Laplace transform of a positive measure supported on [0,∞].     

Application of alkoxide in catalytic transfer hydrogenation of unsaturated nitrogen compounds

Alcoholate was utilized in catalytic transfer hydrogenation of unsaturated nitrogen compounds. In the reduction of nitro compounds, oximes and imines, alkoxide was used as the promoter, with alcohol as the hydrogen source, while in the reduction of nitriles, alkoxide was used as the hydrogen source.     

Classical and quantum effects in spatially modulated optical parametric oscillators

We study the effects of transverse spatial modulations in a multimode degenerate optical parametric oscillator. Intracavity photonic crystals allow us to tune the instability threshold and improve entanglement above threshold. Here we compare such results with the case in which the modulation is in the injected field profile.     

Joint Remote Preparation of a Class of Four-Qubit Cluster-Like States with Tripartite Entanglements and Positive Operator-Valued Measurements

In this work, a novel scheme is proposed to realize joint remote preparation regarding a class of four-qubit cluster-like entangled states based on optimal positive operator-valued measurements. To obtain the preparation of desired states, two tripartite non-maximally entangled states are taken as quantum channels, and devoted to building the robust connections amongst the states’ senders and receiver. It turns out that the present scheme enables one to achieve joint remote state preparation with certain success probability (SP) and unit fidelity. Moreover, several nontrivial issues are discussed, including the improvement of SP and the correlation between SP and the employed channels.
