Optimal threshold values of age and two-phase maintenance policy for leased equipments using age reduction method

This paper investigates the optimal threshold values of age to perform preventive maintenance (PM) actions for leased equipment within the lease period. In this paper, we use age reduction method to describe the degree of PM and construct the maintenance cost function. For repairable leased equipment, two maintenance models are proposed: (i) maintenance policy of single-phase and (ii) maintenance policy of two-phase. During the lease period, PM actions are carried out when the age of equipment reaches a certain threshold value. Any failure of the leased equipment is rectified by a minimal repair within the lease period. Under these maintenance schemes, the mathematical models of the expected total cost for maintenance policies of single-phase and two-phase are established, and the optimal maintenance policies are derived such that the expected total cost is minimized. Finally, the features of the optimal maintenance policy are illustrated through numerical examples.     

Numerical differentiation for high orders by an integration method

This paper mainly studies the numerical differentiation by integration method proposed first by Lanczos. New schemes of the Lanczos derivatives are put forward for reconstructing numerical derivatives for high orders from noise data. The convergence rate of these proposed methods is as the noise level δ→0. Numerical examples show that the proposed methods are stable and efficient.

本文应用距离几何的理论与方法,研究了n维球面空间中n维单形与有限点集的几何不等式问题,建立了球面空间中n维单形一种形式的Pedoe不等式与有限点集一种形式的张-杨不等式,并应用它获得n维球面空间中Veljan-Korchmaros型不等式与Finsler-Hadwinger型不等式.     

Similarity degrees for the crossed product of von Neumann algebras

In this paper, we will estimate an upper bound for the similarity degree of the crossed product of a hyperfinite finite von Neumann algebra by weakly compact action of an infinite discrete group. We will also improve some upper bounds for similarity degrees of some finite von Neumann algebras.     

Discrete Jacobi sub‐equation method for nonlinear differential–difference equations

We will propose a unified algebraic method to construct Jacobi elliptic function solutions to differential–difference equations (DDEs). The solutions to DDEs in terms of Jacobi elliptic functions sn, cn and dn have a unified form and can be presented through solving the associated algebraic equations. To illustrate the effectiveness of this method, we apply the algorithm to some physically significant DDEs, including the discrete hybrid equation, semi‐discrete coupled modified Korteweg–de Vries and the discrete Klein–Gordon equation, thereby generating some new exact travelling periodic solutions to the discrete Klein–Gordon equation. A procedure is also given to determine the polynomial expansion order of Jacobi elliptic function solutions to DDEs. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

We investigate the exact rates of convergence to zero (as T→∞) of the variables sup_{0≤ t ≤ T − aT} inf _f∈S sup_{0≤ x ≤1}|Y _t,T (x) −f(x)| and inf_{0≤ t ≤ T−aT} sup_{0≤ x ≤1}|Y _t,T (x−f(x)| for any given f∈S, where Y _t,T (x) = (W(t+xa _T ) −W(t)) (2a _T (log Ta _T ⁻¹ + log log T))^−1/2. We establish a relation between how small the increments are and the functional limit results of Cs?rg{\H o}-Révész increments for a Wiener process.
