Multisection semiconductor lasers for optical microwave generation have been fabricated that consist of a loss-coupled distributed feedback (LC-DFB), a phase control, and an amplifier section. High-frequency self-pulsations are generated according to the concept of a single-mode laser with short optical feedback. The effect of the optical feedback via the phase control and the amplifier section on the self-pulsation is apparently shown as a result of the superior single-mode characteristic of the LC-DFB section. Continuous frequency tuning is achieved in the range of 17-35 GHz. 相似文献

The structural synergy between biominerals (CaCO(3), hydroxyapatite) and biosubstrates were examined for the first time. The templating effect of substrate and a newly identified supersaturation-driven interfacial structure mismatch effect were identified in the context of a new nucleation model. It follows that the heterogeneous nucleation which corresponds to a good structural match and synergy between biominerals and substrates will promote an ordered, compact, and tough complex biomineral structure, and occur only at low supersaturations, whereas at high supersaturations the heterogeneous nucleation associated with a poor structural match and synergy between biominerals and substrates will become dominant due to supersaturation-driven interfacial structural mismatch. The latter normally results in a disordered and porous structure. A phenomenon, so-called microgravity-driven homogeneous nucleation, was also examined. It turns out that microgravity will suppress convection and consequently promote homogeneous-like nucleation during biomineralization. This could be responsible for microgravity-induced osteoporousis. 相似文献

A series of 4‐[2‐(alicyclic‐[1,2,4]oxadiazol‐3‐yl)phenoxy]‐butyric acids were synthesized from N‐hydroxy‐2‐isopropoxy benzamidine in 4 steps with good yields. These [1,2,4]oxadiazoles are novel platelet aggregation inhibitors preventing human platelet aggregation induced by thromboxane derivative U44,619 and adenosine diphosphate. A structure‐activity‐relationship study revealed that the potency for these 5‐oxadiazoles increases with the increase in the ring size of the alicylic rings. A sweep optical frequency synthesizer is demonstrated by using a frequency-stabilized optical frequency comb and injection-locked distributed-Bragg-reflector (DBR) laser diode. The injection-locked DBR laser acts as a single-frequency filter and, simultaneously, a high-gain amplifier of the optical frequency comb. The frequency instability of the heterodyne beat signal between two independently injection-locked DBR lasers is measured to be 2.3 x 10(-16) at 1 s averaging time. The output frequency of the sweep optical frequency synthesizer can be precisely tuned over 1 GHz, and a saturated absorption spectrum of the Cs D2 line at 852 nm is recorded by the injected DBR laser. 相似文献

The response of a monoaza-15-crown-5 with an optically active aminobenzoxazinone moiety to divalent cations was investigated. The crown ether was found to undergo a strong emission shift to the blue when complexed with specific divalent metals that have ionic diameters between 1.9-2.4 A. Consequently the photoactive macrocycle is responsive to Mg(2+), Ca(2+), Ba(2+), Sr(2+), Cd(2+), and particularly responsive to Hg(2+)and Pb(2+). Macrocycle emission spectra are shown to be a function of cation concentration. Alkaline metal cations and smaller transition metals ions such as Ni(2+), Co(2+)and Zn(2+)do not cause significant changes in the macrocycle emission spectra. Emission, absorption, and complex stability constants are determined. Mechanisms of cation selectivity and spectral emission shifts are discussed. Challenges involving immobilization of the macrocycle while preserving its spectral response to cations are explored. 相似文献
