Behavior of 2‐iminothiazolidin‐4‐one with different reagents

Annulations of 2‐imino‐4‐thiazolidinone ( 5 ) via cycloaddition followed by cyclocondensation reaction with 1,3‐diphenylpropenone ( 6 ), benzylidenemalonate, and 1,2‐bis(chloromethyl)benzene gave 7 , 19 and 20 , respectively. Reaction of 5 with suitable electrophiles (Mannich bases of arylalkanone), 1,4‐dichlorobenzene (diarylmethylation), and formylation afforded 8 / 9 , 21 / 22 , and 23 , respectively. J. Multicomponent reactions in a one-pot synthesis of α-aminophosphonates and α-aminophosphonic diamides with anti-inflammatory properties

Abstract  

Schiff-base Kabachnik–Fields intermediates generated in situ from substituted pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde and 2-aminothiophene derivatives were trapped by dialkyl phosphites to produce the corresponding α-aminophosphonates in moderate yields. The latter products could be also obtained in excellent yields (≥75%) by directly applying the phosphorus reagents to the Schiff bases. Next, dialkyl phosphites were applied to one of the parent aldehydes to give the expected α-hydroxyphosphonate derivatives. Applying hexaalkyl triamidophosphites to the Schiff base in ethanol afforded methylphosphonic diamide derivatives, whereas ring attack on the pyrazole ring occurred when the same amidophosphites were applied to the parent aldehyde to give the corresponding alkylidenephosphorane ylides in an open structure form in good yields. Some of the new compounds exhibited considerable anti-inflammatory properties.     

Glassy phase and thermodynamics for random field Ising model on spherical lattice in magnetic field

Phase diagram and thermodynamic parameters of the random field Ising model (RFIM) on spherical lattice are studied by using mean field theory. This lattice is placed in an external magnetic field (B). The random field (hi) is assumed to be Gaussian distributed with zero mean and a variance     

Organophosphorus chemistry 23 [1], the reaction of α,β-unsaturated nitriles with alkyl phosphites and phosphorus ylides

Wittig reagents 2 react with furfurylidenemalonitrile ( 1a ) and thienylidenemalonitrile ( 1b ) to give a mixture of products ( 6 and 7 ). Compound 1b reacts with di-alkyl phosphites ( 3 ) and trialkyl phosphites ( 4 ) to give the phosphonate 1:1 adducts 9 and 12 , respectively. Structures of the new products were confirmed on the basis of elemental analyses and spectral studies.
