A next-generation slow radioactive nuclear ion beam facility (SLOWRI) which provides slow, high-purity and small emittance ion beams of all elements is being build as one of the principal facilities at the RIKEN RI-beam factory (RIBF). High energy radioactive ion beams from the projectile fragment separator BigRIPS are thermalized in a large gas catcher cell. The thermalized ions in the gas cell are guided and extracted to a vacuum environment by a combination of dc electric fields and inhomogeneous rf fields (rf carpet ion guide). From there the slow ion beam is delivered via a mass separator and a switchyard to various devices: such as an ion trap, a collinear fast beam apparatus, and a multi-reflection time of flight mass spectrometer. In the R&D works at the present RIKEN facility, an overall efficiency of 5% for a 100A MeV 8Li ion beam from the present projectile fragment separator RIPS was achieved and the dependence of the efficiency on the ion beam intensity was investigated. Recently our first spectroscopy experiment at the prototype SLOWI was performed on Be isotopes. Energetic ions of 10Be and 7Be from the RIPS were trapped and laser cooled in a linear rf trap and the specific mass shifts of these isotopes were measured for the first time.  相似文献

We report the first experimental demonstration of an optical quantum controlled-NOT gate without any path interference, where the two interacting path interferometers of the original proposals have been replaced by three partially polarizing beam splitters with suitable polarization dependent transmittance and reflectance. The performance of the device is evaluated using a recently proposed method, by which the quantum process fidelity and the entanglement capability can be estimated from the 32 measurement results of two classical truth tables, significantly less than the 256 measurement results required for full quantum tomography.  相似文献

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a 40 Gb/s secure optical communication system with on-off-keying (OOK) modulation format by using a time domain spectral phase en/decoding scheme, which employs a highly dispersive element and high-speed phase modulator for introducing significant symbol overlapping for both the encoded and incorrectly decoded noiselike signals to enhance the information security against eavesdropping using a power detector. The influence of dispersion and chip modulation rate on the symbol overlapping of the incorrectly decoded signal has been analytically investigated and experimentally verified. Security enhancement for 40 Gb/s OOK data using fast reconfigurable 40 Gchip/s optical codes with code lengths of up to 1024 has been demonstrated and compared with a 10 Gb/s system.  相似文献

The first reported Raman scattering experiments have been performed on single crystal and amorphous films of the metastable alloy (GaSb)1-xGex with compositions across the pseudobinary phase diagram. In crystalline films, the optical phonons exhibit a “one-two” type mode behavior. Broadening and softening of the Raman peaks with increasing alloy concentrations are attributed to a relaxation of q-vector selection rules due to substitutional disorder on both the cation and anion sublattices. Additionally, disorder induced scattering from the zone-edge acoustic phonons was observed. In amorphous alloy films, the reduced Raman spectra were compared to the one-phonon densities of states of the end-member crystals. The resulting apparent lack of polarization dependence indicated that the amorphous films were of the random network type.  相似文献

The ground state hyperfine splitting of87Sr+ was measured with a precision of 1×10–8. The experiments were performed with an RF ion trap connected to an ISOL (isotope separator on-line), where all the possible transitions between Zeeman sublevels were observed by a laser-microwave double resonance method. The magnetic dipole hyperfine constant was determined to beA=–1 000 473.673 (11) kHz.  相似文献

A conditional geometric phase shift gate, which is fault tolerant to certain types of errors due to its geometric nature, was realized recently via nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) under adiabatic conditions. However, in quantum computation, everything must be completed within the decoherence time. The adiabatic condition makes any fast conditional Berry phase (cyclic adiabatic geometric phase) shift gate impossible. Here we show that by using a newly designed sequence of simple operations with an additional vertical magnetic field, the conditional geometric phase shift gate can be run nonadiabatically. Therefore geometric quantum computation can be done at the same rate as usual quantum computation.  相似文献
