Brillouin spectroscopy was used to study elastic properties of the Si (1 1 1) decorated with Ni nanostructures deposited by nanospherical lithography. The height of the nickel nanostructure deposited was about 25 nm, while the area taken by the structure differed depending on the type of matrix used. It was found that the Ni nanostructures change the velocity of both bulk and surface phonons in the systems studied. This finding is in contradiction to the results concerning the surface phonons velocities in different media covered with a homogenous thin metal film, in which the effect was observed for films thicker than 70 nm.  相似文献

In this paper we apply linear control theory to study the effect of various inventory policies on order and inventory variability, which are key drivers of supply chain performance. In particular, we study a two-echelon supply chain with a stationary demand pattern under the influence of three inventory policies: an inventory-on-hand policy that bases orders on the visible inventory at an installation, an installation-stock policy that bases orders on the inventory position (on-hand plus on-order inventory) at an installation, and an echelon-stock policy that bases orders on the inventory position at that installation and all downstream installations. We prove analytically that the inventory-on-hand policy is unstable in practical settings, confirming analytically what has been observed in experimental settings and in practice. We also prove that the installation-stock and echelon-stock policies are stable and analyze their effect on order and inventory fluctuation. Specifically, we show the general superiority of the echelon-stock in our setting and demonstrate analytically the effect of forecasting parameters on order and inventory fluctuations, confirming the results in other research.  相似文献

The use of supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) is a well established practice worldwide in the manufacture of Portland cement (PC)-based construction materials. While utilisation of industrial by-products has been successful, the potential of mining wastes is yet to receive adequate attention in the context of construction materials. In an expanded form perlite, which is a naturally occurring, hydrated volcanic siliceous glass, is an ideal material as a lightweight aggregate for use in a wide range of construction materials including concrete. The mining and processing of the grades of perlite required for the production of lightweight aggregate results in the creation of a fine grained waste which currently has no economic value. This paper reports preliminary data on the utilisation of waste perlite fines as a SCM in calcium silicate-based construction material and discusses the potential of this mining waste to reduce the environmental impact of the production of conventional cement-based construction materials.  相似文献

The adsorption behavior (capacity, density distribution and packing density) and the isosteric heat versus loading in a slit pore whose walls contain defective graphene layers are investigated in this paper. The defective wall is characterized by the extent and size of the defect. Simulation results obtained with the Grand Canonical Monte Carlo method reveal complex patterns of isosteric heat, and this complex behavior is a result of the interplay between three factors: (i) the surface heterogeneity (solid-fluid interaction, sites with varying degree of affinity), (ii) fluid-fluid interaction and (iii) the overlapping of potentials exerted by the two defective walls. We illustrate this with argon adsorption in pores of various sizes, and results obtained from the simulation agree qualitatively with the experimental data at 77 K on Saran microporous S600H and micro-mesoporous S84 charcoals of Beebe et al. [R.A. Beebe, B. Millard, J. Cynarski, J. Am. Chem. Soc. 75 (1953) 839]. The S600H was found to contain pores predominantly in the neighborhood of 7 Å with 30% of defect and a defective size of 2.84 Å. This is consistent with the argument made by Beebe et al. that this sample is a microporous solid and most pores can accommodate only one layer. The other sample, S84, has larger pores than S600H, and it is found that it has a wider pore size distribution and the pore width is centered at about 12 Å.  相似文献

We demonstrate the surprising integrability of the classical Hamiltonian associated to a spin 1/2 system under periodic external fields. The one-qubit rotations generated by the dynamical evolution is, on the one hand, close to that of the rotating wave approximation (RWA), on the other hand to two different “average” systems, according to whether a certain parameter is small or large. Of particular independent interest is the fact that both the RWA and the averaging theorem are seen to hold well beyond their expected region of validity. Finally, we determine conditions for the realization of the quantum NOT operation by means of classical stroboscopic maps.  相似文献

 We consider the Vehicle Routing Problem, in which a fixed fleet of delivery vehicles of uniform capacity must service known customer demands for a single commodity from a common depot at minimum transit cost. This difficult combinatorial problem contains both the Bin Packing Problem and the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) as special cases and conceptually lies at the intersection of these two well-studied problems. The capacity constraints of the integer programming formulation of this routing model provide the link between the underlying routing and packing structures. We describe a decomposition-based separation methodology for the capacity constraints that takes advantage of our ability to solve small instances of the TSP efficiently. Specifically, when standard procedures fail to separate a candidate point, we attempt to decompose it into a convex combination of TSP tours; if successful, the tours present in this decomposition are examined for violated capacity constraints; if not, the Farkas Theorem provides a hyperplane separating the point from the TSP polytope. We present some extensions of this basic concept and a general framework within which it can be applied to other combinatorial models. The isotopic production cross sections of heavy residues in relativistic heavy-ion collisions have been investigated in inverse kinematics. The primary reaction products were fully identified in mass and atomic number prior to beta decay using the fragment separator FRS. The huge collection of data obtained helps in the understanding of the two main reaction mechanisms involved: fragmentation and fission. These data provide basic information for future radioactive ion beam facilities and for technical applications like intense neutron sources by means of spallation targets.  相似文献

In this paper we analyse numerical models for time-dependent Boussinesq equations. These equations arise when so-called Boussinesq terms are introduced into the shallow water equations. We use the Boussinesq terms proposed by Katapodes and Dingemans. These terms generalize the constant depth terms given by Broer. The shallow water equations are discretized by using fourth-order finite difference formulae for the space derivatives and a fourth-order explicit time integrator. The effect on the stability and accuracy of various discrete Boussinesq terms is investigated. Numerical experiments are presented in the case of a fourth-order Runge-Kutta time integrator.  相似文献

We present some of our results for the electromagnetic properties of excited Σ hyperons, computed within the framework of the Bonn constituent-quark model, which is based on the Bethe-Salpeter approach. The seven parameters entering the model are fitted against the best-known baryon masses. Accordingly, the results for the form factors and helicity amplitudes are genuine predictions. We compare with the scarce experimental data available and discuss the processes in which Σ *'s may play an important role.  相似文献
