The unprecedented selective encapsulation of trans-[Co(en)2Cl2]+ from the mixture of trans and cis isomers into the cavity of macrocyclic cavitand cucurbit[8]uril (C48H48N32O16, CB[8]) leads to the inclusion compound {trans-[Co(en)2Cl2]@CB[8]}Cl.17H2O (1). Single-crystal X-ray analysis, 1H NMR, and ESI-MS spectra confirm the formation of host-guest complex 1 in both solid state and solution. The geometry of the complex cation alters significantly upon inclusion, which causes appreciable hypsochromic shifts of the absorption bands of the guest complex. According to TGA data, inclusion of trans-[Co(en)2Cl2]+ dramatically stabilizes the complex toward thermal decomposition. Encapsulation of trans-[Co(en)2Cl2]+ into the CB[8] cavity also increases the stability of the metal complex toward isomerization into the cis form. The supramolecular adduct {cis-[Co(en)2(H2O)2](CB[8])6}Cl3.ca109.5H2O (2) was isolated only after prolonged heating of an aqueous solution of 1 at 120 degrees C in an evacuated tube; it was characterized by X-ray crystallography, IR, and elemental analysis.  相似文献

2,2'-Bis[2-(1-propylbenzimidazol-2-yl)]biphenyl), 4, and its bis complexes with Fe(II) and Mn(II) have been prepared and characterized structurally and spectroscopically. Ligand 4 adopts an open, "trans" conformation in the solid state with the benzimidazole (BzIm) groups on opposite sides of the biphenyl unit. In its complexes with metal ions, a "cis" conformation is observed, and 4 behaves as a geometrically constraining bidentate ligand with four planar groups connected by three "hinges". Reaction of 4 with Fe(II) or Mn(II) yielded isomorphous crystals (space group Pnn2) of Fe(II)(4)2.(ClO4)2 and Mn(II)(4)2.(ClO4)2, in which the M(II)(4)2 cations exhibit distorted-tetrahedral coordination geometries (N-M-N angles, 109 +/- 11 degrees ) enforced by rigid, chiral nine-membered M(4) rings in the twist-boat-boat conformation. Individually, the cations show R,R or S,S stereochemistry, and the crystals are racemates. Mn(II)(4)2.(ClO4)2 exhibits a quasi-reversible Mn(II) --> Mn(III) oxidation at E(1/2) = 0.64 V; the corresponding Fe(II) --> Fe(III) oxidation occurs at E(1/2) = 1.76 V. The electrochemical stability of the Fe(III) oxidation state in this system suggests the possibility of isolating an unusual pseudotetrahedral Fe(III)N(BzIm)(4) species. Ultraviolet spectra of the iron and manganese complexes are dominated by absorptions of the ligand 4 blue-shifted by approximately 2000-3000 cm(-1). Ligand-field absorptions were observed for the Fe(II) complex; those for the Mn(II) complex were obscured by tailing ultraviolet absorptions. Electron paramagnetic resonance and magnetic susceptibility measurements are consistent with a high-spin Mn(II) complex, while for the Fe(II) complex, the falloff of the magnetic moment with decreasing temperature is indicative of zero-field splitting with D approximately 4 cm(-1).  相似文献

Ligand docking to flexible protein molecules can be efficiently carried out through ensemble docking to multiple protein conformations, either from experimental X-ray structures or from in silico simulations. The success of ensemble docking often requires the careful selection of complementary protein conformations, through docking and scoring of known co-crystallized ligands. False positives, in which a ligand in a wrong pose achieves a better docking score than that of native pose, arise as additional protein conformations are added. In the current study, we developed a new ligand-biased ensemble receptor docking method and composite scoring function which combine the use of ligand-based atomic property field (APF) method with receptor structure-based docking. This method helps us to correctly dock 30 out of 36 ligands presented by the D3R docking challenge. For the six mis-docked ligands, the cognate receptor structures prove to be too different from the 40 available experimental Pocketome conformations used for docking and could be identified only by receptor sampling beyond experimentally explored conformational subspace.  相似文献

Molecular and ionic complexes of cis-2',5'-di(pyridin-3-yl)pyrrolidino[3',4':1,9](C(60)-I(h))[5,6]fullerene DP3FP with chlorobenzene (C(6)H(5)Cl), manganese(II) tetraphenylporphyrin (Mn(II)TPP) and tetrakis(dimethylamino)ethylene (TDAE) have been obtained for the first time. X-ray single crystal structure determination for the crystalline DP3FP·C(6)H(5)Cl (1) solvate proved unambiguously its molecular structure with the cis-arrangement of chelating 3-pyridyl groups. It has been demonstrated that DP3FP easily forms self-assembled photoactive complexes with metallated porphyrins. For example, the formation of a 1 : 1 complex between DP3FP and zinc (II) tetraphenylporphyrin (Zn(II)TPP) in cyclohexane solution (2) was evidenced using absorption spectroscopy. A successful X-ray single crystal structure determination was performed for a self-assembled triad composed of a DP3FP molecule linked with two Mn(II)TPP molecules in {DP3FP·(Mn(II)TPP)(2)}·(C(6)H(4)Cl(2))(3) (3). A strong organic donor TDAE reduces DP3FP to the radical anion state thus forming an ionic complex (TDAE˙(+))·(DP3FP˙(-))·(C(6)H(4)Cl(2))(1.6) (4). Optical, electronic and magnetic properties of 4 were investigated in detail. The performed studies strongly suggest that pyrrolidinofullerene DP3FP can be used as a building block in the design of various organic materials with advanced optoelectronic and/or magnetic properties.  相似文献

Electro-optically active polymer–liquid crystal composites based on ferroelectric liquid crystals and stretched porous polyethylene films were developed. The alignment of ferroelectric liquid crystals incorporated into the porous polyethylene films with average porous diameter of around 200 nm was observed and studied. It was shown experimentally that these samples containing ferroelectric liquid crystals are flexible electro-optical films exhibiting a saturation electric field near 2·10Vm?1 and a response time of about 30 μs under the action of the saturation field. A simple theoretical model of ferroelectric liquid crystal molecules' complete reorientation in electric fields inside pores of the films has been proposed and confirmed experimentally.  相似文献

The cycloadducts of menthofuran with acylbromoacetylenes, (3-bromo-1,6-dimethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-2H-2,4a-epoxynaphthalen-4-yl)(aryl)methanones, rearrange (CHCl3, reflux, 1 h) to 2-(2-acylethyl)benzofurans (along with the expected 2-bromo-3-hydroxy-4,7-dimethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydronaphthalene-1-yl)(aryl)methanones) via 2-acylethynylmenthofurans, thus indicating the exceptionally mild and rapid transfer of four hydrogens from a cyclohexane ring to a triple bond through the furan moiety in the key intermediate 2-acylethynylmenthofuran.  相似文献

MXenes have shown promise in myriad applications, such as energy storage, catalysis, EMI shielding, among many others. However, MXene oxidation in aqueous colloidal suspensions when stored in water at ambient conditions remains a challenge. It is now shown that by simply capping the edges of individual MXene flakes, Ti3C2Tz and V2CTz, by polyanions such as polyphosphates, polysilicates or polyborates, it is possible to quite significantly reduce their propensity for oxidation even when held in aerated water for weeks. This breakthrough resulted from the realization that the edges of MXene sheets are positively charged. It is thus an example of selectively functionalizing the edges differently from the MXene sheet surfaces.  相似文献

A chiral ferroelectric smectic C* liquid crystal (FLC) with the helix pitch p 0?=?330 nm was developed to avoid any scattering of visible light when the helix is not unwound over a certain limit. Planar cells with different FLC layer thickness (16 and 44 μm) have been assembled with helix axis parallel to the glass plates and aligned along the rubbing direction. The ellipticity of the light passing through the cells vs. the electric field was investigated, and a method for evaluating the electrically controlled birefringence via ellipticity measurements has been established. We have found that the FLC cell is an optical retardation layer driven by the electric field, the effective birefringence being proportional to the square electric field. The physical origin of the electrically controlled phase shift of the light passing through the FLC layer has been analysed.  相似文献
