An effective method for tuning fluorescent response of an ultrathin (5 nm) polymer film, which can be used for generation of sensing arrays, is reported. This method is distinctive in that the modification of the optical response is achieved with polymer grafting of a non‐fluorescent polymer to a fluorescent film. Using this approach, a number of films demonstrating different fluorescent emission when exposed to solvent vapors were synthesized. 相似文献

The synthesis, structural characterization, and chemical-bonding peculiarities of the two new polar lanthanum-magnesium germanides La(4)Mg(5)Ge(6) and La(4)Mg(7)Ge(6) are reported. The crystal structures of these intermetallics were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The La(4)Mg(5)Ge(6) phase crystallizes in the orthorhombic Gd(4)Zn(5)Ge(6) structure type [Cmc2(1), oS60, Z = 4, a = 4.5030(7) ?, b = 20.085(3) ?, c = 16.207(3) ?, wR2 = 0.0451, 1470 F(2) values, 93 variables]. The La(4)Mg(7)Ge(6) phase represents a new structure type with a monoclinic unit cell [C2/m, mS34, Z = 2, a = 16.878(3) ?, b = 4.4702(9) ?, c = 12.660(3) ?, β = 122.25(3)°, wR2 = 0.0375, 1466 F(2) values, 54 variables]. Crystallographic analysis together with linear muffin-tin orbital band structure calculations reveals the presence of strongly bonded 3D polyanionic [Mg-Ge] networks balanced by positively charged La atoms in both stoichiometric compounds. The La(4)Mg(5)Ge(6) compound is related to Zintl phases, showing a prominent density of states pseudogap at the Fermi level. A distinctive feature of the La(4)Mg(5)Ge(6) structure is the presence of Ge-Ge covalent dumbbells; in La(4)Mg(7)Ge(6), the higher Mg content generates a polyanionic network consisting exclusively of Mg-Ge heterocontacts. Reversible hydrogen storage capacity of the La(3-x)Mg(x)Ni(9) alloys, charged by gaseous hydrogen or by electrochemical methods, reaches its maximum at composition La(2)MgNi(9). As (La,Mg)Ni(3-3.5) alloys are the materials used in advanced metal hydride electrodes in Ni-MH batteries, this raises interest in the study of the structure-properties interrelation in the system La(2)MgNi(9)-H(2) (D(2)). In the present work, this system has been investigated by use of in situ synchrotron X-ray and neutron powder diffraction in H(2)/D(2) gas and by performing pressure-composition-temperature measurements. The saturated La(2)MgNi(9)D(13.1) hydride forms via an isotropic expansion and crystallizes with a trigonal unit cell (space group R3m (No.166); a = 5.4151(1) ?; c = 26.584(2) ?; V = 675.10(6) ?(3)). The studied hybrid structure is composed of a stacking of two layers resembling existing intermetallic compounds LaNi(5) (CaCu(5) type) and LaMgNi(4) (Laves type). These are occupied by D to form LaNi(5)D(5.2) and LaMgNi(4)D(7.9). The LaNi(5)D(5.2) slab has a typical structure observed for all reported LaNi(5)-containing hybrid structures of the AB(5) + Laves phase types. However, the Laves type slab LaMgNi(4)D(7.9) is different from the characterized individual LaMgNi(4)D(4.85) hydride. This results from the filling of a greater variety of interstitial sites in the La(2)MgNi(9)D(13)/LaMgNi(4)D(7.9), including MgNi(2), Ni(4), (La/Mg)(2)Ni(2), and (La/Mg)Ni(3), in contrast with individual LaMgNi(4)D(4.85) where only La(2)MgNi(2) and Ni(4) interstitials are occupied. Despite a random distribution of La and Mg in the structure, a local hydrogen ordering takes place with H atoms favoring occupation of two Mg-surrounded sites, triangles MgNi(2) and tetrahedra LaMgNi(2). A directional bonding between Ni, Mg, and hydrogen is observed and is manifested by a formation of the NiH(4) tetrahedra and MgH(6) octahedra, which are connected to each other by sharing H vertexes to form a spatial framework. 相似文献

Sulfenylchlorides, sulfenates, and sulfenamides of 1,4‐naphthoquinone were synthesized, and different methods of their syntheses were investigated. Misfolding of the protein α‐synuclein (αSyn) into amyloid fibrils plays a central role in the development of Parkinson's disease. Most approaches for the inhibition of αSyn fibril formation are based on stabilizing the native monomeric form of the protein or destabilizing the fibrillized misfolded form. They require high concentrations of inhibitor and therefore cannot be easily used for therapies. In this work, we designed an inhibitor (Inh‐β) that selectively binds the growing ends of αSyn fibrils and creates steric hindrance for the binding of monomeric αSyn. This approach permits the inhibition of fibril formation at Inh‐β concentrations (IC50=850 nm ) much lower than the concentration of monomeric αSyn. We studied its kinetic mechanism in vitro and identified the reactions that limit inhibition efficiency. It is shown that blocking of αSyn fibril ends is an effective approach to inhibiting fibril growth and provides insights for the development of effective inhibitors of αSyn aggregation. 相似文献
