A new device has been developed for the trapping of volatile pollutants in trapping solvents. The device allows solvent recirculation and cryogenic trapping of evaporated volatiles to minimize the stripping effect and any losses of volatile analytes. Due to solvent recirculation, the trapping solvent column height remains constant during the extraction without any need for replenishment. Also mass transfer conditions are favorable due to the flattened shape of bubbles of CO2 and the longer extraction time. The bubbles have higher interfacial area and they have to pass a three times longer distance in the solvent column. The device produces more concentrated extracts, reduces solvent consumption, and reduces or eliminates its evaporation to the environment. The cryotrapping part reduces losses of volatile analytes and the stripping effect. It also enables single-phase extraction into much smaller solvent volumes. Due to constant and favorable extraction conditions, the precision of the method was also greatly improved (RSDs decreased from 2.2 to 0.8%). As proved by a set of rapid spiked-sample extractions of highly volatile compounds at very high flow rates, the relative standard deviation of the experiments performed in the new device is 3.5 times lower.  相似文献

A crystallic silver amalgam was found to be a suitable working electrode material for voltammetric determination of electrochemically reducible organic nitro-compounds. Optimum conditions for crystal growth were found, the crystal surface was investigated by atomic force microscopy in tapping mode and single crystals were used for the preparation of quasi-cylindrical single crystal silver amalgam electrode (CAgAE). An electrochemical behavior of this alternative electrode material was investigated in aqueous media by direct current voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and adsorptive stripping voltammetry (AdSV) using 4-nitrophenol as a model compound. Applicable potential windows of the CAgAE were found comparable with those obtained at a hanging mercury drop electrode, providing high hydrogen overpotential, and polished silver solid amalgam electrode. Thanks to the smooth single crystal electrode surface, the effect of the passivation is not too pronounced, direct DPV determination of 100 μmol l(-1) of 4-nitrophenol at CAgAEs in 0.2 mol l(-1) acetate buffer pH 4.8 provides a RSD around 1.5% (n = 15). DPV calibration curves of 4-nitrophenol are linear in the whole concentration range 1-100 μmol l(-1) with a limit of quantification of 1.5 μmol l(-1). The attempt to increase sensitivity by application of AdSV was not successful. The mechanism of 4-nitrophenol reduction at CAgAE was investigated by CV.  相似文献

Fluorescence anisotropy measurements were performed on a set of multichromophoric compounds, which contain a different number of aminopyrenyl moieties linked to a triazine ring, in order to reveal the nature of both the electronic excited states and relaxation pathways of the compounds. Our experimental results complement quantum chemical calculations. We propose that the lowest excited state from which fluorescence proceeds is localized on a single individual aminopyrene moiety. In contrast, excitation to a higher excited state is likely followed by a migration of energy to another nearby aminopyrene chromophore before the internal conversion to the emitting state takes place. We suggest that this migration is responsible for the experimentally measured decrease of fluorescence anisotropy of the studied compounds.  相似文献

CE methods for the speciation of inorganic and organomercury compounds are reviewed. Sample preparation, separation conditions and detection modes are discussed. Efficient separation and sensitive determination of mercury species by CE typically involves complexation with various thiols, chromogenic and other chelating agents; however, some methods do not require complexation. Spectrophotometric detection based on UV-visible absorption is by far the most commonly used. Hyphenated techniques, such as CE/inductively coupled plasma (ICP)-MS, hydride generation coupled to ICP-MS or atomic fluorescence spectrometry and CE/atomic absorption spectrometry are gaining popularity due to their high sensitivity and selectivity. Last, but not least, the potential and applications of electrochemical methods for detection of separated mercury species are outlined.  相似文献

Simultaneous separation of up to 22 inorganic and organic anions, alkali, alkaline earth and transition metal cations was achieved in less than 3 min in the capillary electrophoresis system with contactless conductometric detector. The sample was injected from both capillary ends (dual opposite end injection) and anionic and cationic species were detected in the center of the separation capillary. The parameters of the separation electrolyte, such as pH, concentration of the electrolyte, concentration of complexing agents and concentration of 18-crown-6 were studied. Best results were achieved with electrolytes consisting of 8 mM L-histidine, 2.8 mM 2-hydroxyisobutyric acid, 0.32 mM 18-crown-6 at pH 4.25 or 9 mM L-histidine, 4.6 mM lactic acid, 0.38 mM 18-crown-6 at pH 4.25. Other electrolytes containing complexing agents such as malic or tartaric acid at various concentrations could also be used. The detection limits achieved for most cations and anions were 7.5 - 62 micro gL(-1) except for Ba2+ (90 micro gL(-1)), Cd 2+, Cr 3+ and F- (125 micro gL(-1)), and fumarate (250 micro gL(-1)). The repeatability of migration times and peak areas was better than 0.4% and 5.9%, respectively. The developed method was applied for analysis of real samples, such as tap, rain, drainage and surface water samples, plant exudates, plant extracts and ore leachates.  相似文献

An efficient method of modifier addition for supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of polar isoflavones was developed and yielded extraordinarily high recoveries. To find the optimal extraction conditions, a temperature and pressure optimization and modifier impact study was performed in naturally contaminated and spiked samples. Ultra-fast high-performance liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS) was used for the determination of isoflavones on an Atlantis dC18 high-speed reversed phase chromatographic column (20 x 2.1 mm, 3 microm particle size). A newly elaborated supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) procedure allowed more accurate (< 5%) and precise (< 4-7%) determination of isoflavones in biological materials. The HPLC/MS method significantly reduced analysis time with simultaneous improvement of sensitivity and detection limits. The on-column limits of detection LOD (S/N = 3) for isoflavone glycosides (daidzin, genistin, glycitin, ononin, and sissotrin) were 1.3-3.6 fmol and 0.2-1.0 fmol for aglycones (daidzein, glycitein, genistein, formononetin, and biochanin A), respectively.  相似文献
