7‐R‐9‐ethyl‐6,9‐dihydro‐6‐oxo‐[1,2,5]selenadiazolo[3,4‐h]quinolines (R = H, COOC2H5, COOCH3, COOH and COCH3, E1h , E2h , E3h , E4h , E5h ) and 6‐ethyl‐6,9‐dihydro‐9‐oxo‐[1,2,5]selenadiazolo[3,4‐f]quinoline ( E1f ) were characterized by UV/vis, FT‐IR and fluorescence spectroscopy. The electronic absorption spectra of the derivatives E1h , E2h , E3h and E5h in the aprotic solvents dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and acetonitrile (ACN) reveal low‐energy absorption maxima with λmax > 400 > nm, shifted hypsochromically in water. In DMSO, N‐ethyl selenadiazoloquinolones behave as strong fluorescent agents (λem ≥ 550 nm) with the exception of the carboxylic acid derivative E4h which shows only poor emission. Photoinduced reactions of N‐ethyl selenadiazoloquinolones were investigated by means of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. Photoexcitation of N‐ethyl selenadiazoloquinolones in aerated DMSO with either 385 nm or 400 nm wavelengths, monitored by EPR spin trapping technique, results in the generation of superoxide radical anions; under an inert atmosphere, the generation of methyl radicals originating from the solvent predominates. Upon exposure at either 365 nm, 385 nm or 400 nm, aerated ACN solutions of selenadiazoloquinolones in the presence of sterically hindered amines produce nitroxide radicals via a reaction with photogenerated singlet oxygen. The 7‐substituted derivatives of 9‐ethyl‐6,9‐dihydro‐6‐oxo‐[1,2,5]selenadiazolo[3,4‐h]quinoline behave as photosensitizers activating molecular oxygen upon photoexcitation and possess the sufficient photochemical stability under the given experimental conditions. The cytotoxic effects of non‐photoactivated and UVA photoactivated N‐ethyl substituted selenadiazoloquinolones on cancer (human HeLa and murine L1210) and non‐cancer (NIH‐3T3) cell lines were monitored by the MTT test. We present the results of a reactivity study of titanium cationic clusters towards CO, C(2)H(2), C(2)H(4) and C(3)H(6) based on guided-ion-beam mass spectrometry and DFT calculations. We identified Ti(2)O(4)(+) and to a lesser extent TiO(2)(+) species which preferentially undergo oxidation reactions. An oxygen centered radical of Ti(2)O(4)(+) is responsible for selective oxidation. Energy profiles and MD simulations reveal the mechanisms of the reactions. Regeneration of the oxygen centered radical was achieved experimentally and theoretically through the reaction of N(2)O with Ti(2)O(3)(+).  相似文献

Newly synthesized derivatives of 6-oxo-6,9-dihydro[1,2,5]selenadiazolo[3,4-h]quinoline variously substituted at position 7 (R = H, COOH, COCH(3), CN, COOC(2)H(5) and COOCH(3)) are established in strongly alkaline aqueous solutions (0.1 M NaOH; pH ~ 13) as N(9)-deprotonated structures, but in less alkaline solutions (0.001 M NaOH; pH ~ 11) the N(9)-protonated oxo tautomeric forms dominate. Upon their anodic oxidation in alkaline solutions, the selenadiazole ring is replaced, forming instead the paramagnetic species analogous to the ortho semiquinone radical anions as monitored by in situ EPR spectroscopy. The quantum chemical calculations for two representative selenadiazoloquinolones (R = H and COOH) and their anodic oxidation products presented are in agreement with experiments.  相似文献

Blue light sensing using flavin (BLUF) protein photoreceptor domains change their hydrogen bond network after photoexcitation. To explore this phenomenon, BLUF domains from R. sphaeroides were simulated using Amber99 molecular dynamics (MD). Five starting configurations were considered, to study different BLUF proteins (AppA/BlrB), Trp conformations (“Win”/“Wout”), structure determination (X‐ray/NMR), and finally, His protonation states. We found dependencies of the hydrogen bonds on almost all parameters. Our data show an especially strong correlation of the Trp position and hydrogen bonds involving Gln63. The latter is in some contradiction to earlier results (Obanayama et al., Photochem. Photobiol. 2008, 84 10031010). Possible origins and implications are discussed. Our calculations support conjectures that Gln63 is more flexible with Trp104 in Win position. Using snapshots from MD and time‐dependent density functional theory, UV/vis spectra for the chromophore were determined, which account for molecular motion of the protein under ambient conditions. In accord with experiment, it is found that the UV/vis spectra of BLUF bound flavin are red‐shifted and thermally broadened for all calculated π → π* transitions, relative to gas phase flavin at T = 0 K. However, differences in the spectra between the various BLUF configurations cannot be resolved with the present approach. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

In thermally-accelerated aging followed by EPR spectroscopy of beer samples of various stabilities, free radical 4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperidinyloxy (TEMPOL) was shown to be an effective indicator of the breakdown of a sample's stability, comparable to the commonly used spin trapping agent alpha-phenyl-N-tert-butylnitrone (PBN). Both indicators were then employed to investigate the influence of additives on beer stability. The addition of L-ascorbic acid (ASC) to the beer samples accelerated the radical processes and a lower stability was found. DL-alpha-tocopherol (alpha-TOC) did not influence beer stability significantly (probably due to its limited solubility). Na2SO3, described as a very effective stabilizer in experiments with the PBN spin trap, was found not to be effective using the TEMPOL indicator. This is probably due to inhibition in the formation of spin adducts or their degradation by Na2SO3.  相似文献

A novel size dependence in the adsorption reaction of multiple O2 molecules onto anionic silver clusters Agn- (n = 1-5) is revealed by gas-phase reaction studies in an rf-ion trap. Ab initio theoretical modeling based on DFT method provides insight into the reaction mechanism and finds cooperative electronic and structural effects to be responsible for the size selective reactivity of Agn- clusters toward one or more O2. In particular, Agn- clusters with odd n have paired electrons and therefore bind one O2 only weakly, but they are simultaneously activated to adsorb a strongly bound second oxygen molecule. For the clusters Ag3O4- and Ag5O4-, this cooperative effect results in a superoxo-like, doubly bound O2 subunit with potentially high activity in catalytic silver cluster oxidation processes.  相似文献
