Many studies have described and analyzed the singer's formant. A similar phenomenon produced by trained speakers led some authors to examine the speaker's ring. If we consider these phenomena as resonance effects associated with vocal tract adjustments and training, can we hypothesize that trained singers can carry over their singing formant ability into speech, also obtaining a speaker's ring? Can we find similar differences for energy distribution in continuous speech? Forty classically trained singers and forty untrained normal speakers performed an all-voiced reading task and produced a sample of a sustained spoken vowel /a/. The singers were also requested to perform a sustained sung vowel /a/ at a comfortable pitch. The reading was analyzed by the long-term average spectrum (LTAS) method. The sustained vowels were analyzed through power spectrum analysis. The data suggest that singers show more energy concentration in the singer's formant/speaker's ring region in both sung and spoken vowels. The singers' spoken vowel energy in the speaker's ring area was found to be significantly larger than that of the untrained speakers. The LTAS showed similar findings suggesting that those differences also occur in continuous speech. This finding supports the value of further research on the effect of singing training on the resonance of the speaking voice. 相似文献

We give an analogue of Levin–Sodin–Yuditskii's study of the dynamical Ruelle determinants of hyperbolic rational maps in the case of subhyperbolic quadratic polynomials. We study adaptive dynamics in a structured population model of asexual individuals which takes into account environmental heterogeneity among the subpopulations. The key purpose of the present work is to address how population turnovers, i.e. extinction events followed by recolonization, affect the rate of fixation of advantageous mutations. This model is a generalization of our previous model to address the interplay between environmental correlation and evolutionary forces on the adaptive process. The incorporation of population turnovers into the model enables us to make a direct correspondence between the model and host-parasite dynamics (epidemiological models). Strikingly, contrary to the intuitive and usual deleterious effect associated to extinction events, it is observed that population turnovers can in fact speed up adaptation as heterogeneity rises. On the other side, in nearly homogeneous population turnovers have a neutral effect on fixation rates, but a detrimental outcome is also achieved when extinction events become very common. The analysis of volatile compounds, and particularly of certain hydrocarbons, e.g. pentane, and some aldehydes, e.g. hexanal, has been used to estimate the degree of oxidation of vegetable oil. We have tested a dynamic headspace technique without heating the sample during the purge time of the analysis. Some tests have been performed after heating the sample at 180°C for a specified time before the analysis, to compare the results of analysis with and without heating. We prove exponential decay of correlations for a realistic model of piecewise hyperbolic flows preserving a contact form, in dimension three. This is the first time exponential decay of correlations is proved for continuous-time dynamics with singularities on a manifold. Our proof combines the second author’s version (Liverani in Ann Math 159:1275–1312, 2004) of Dolgopyat’s estimates for contact flows and the first author’s work with Gouëzel (J Mod Dyn 4:91–137, 2010) on piecewise hyperbolic discrete-time dynamics. 相似文献

An expert sequential injection system involving a prior assay is proposed for spectrophotometric determination of phosphate and eventually zinc in soil extracts. The result of phosphate determination is the basis for a concentration-oriented decision regarding to the need or not for zinc determination. Zinc was only determined if a threshold value (peak height corresponding to 5.0 mg l−1 P) was surpassed. The methods involved formation of molybdenum blue and the Rhodamine 6G/ammonium thiocyanate/Zn2+ ternary complex. Variations in the threshold value were < 2% during 4 h operating periods, false responses were not verified, and the analytical time was reduced in about 30%. Precise results (R.S.D. <3% P and < 1% Zn) in agreement with spectrophotometry and flame atomic absorption spectrometry were obtained. The innovation permits faster information processing, as well as a reduction in the number of measurements, number of analytical steps, laboratorial time, and consumption of sample and reagents, thus waste generation. 相似文献
