To probe the cooperativity of charge transfer between organoimido and hexamolybdate, and enhance the second-order nonlinear optical (NLO) response of organoimido derivatives of hexamolybdates, electronic structures and second-order NLO properties of a series of charge-transfer covalently bonded organoimido derived hexamolybdate complexes with donor-(π conjugated bridge)-acceptor-(π conjugated bridge)-donor or acceptor-(π conjugated bridge)-donor-(π conjugated bridge)-acceptor structures were studied by density functional theory. Studies show that different combinations of the donor, acceptor, heterocycle, –C≡C– and –N=N– moieties, and orientation of heterocycle remarkably affect the second-order NLO responses. The complexes containing electronic acceptor matched with the direction of charge transfer possess remarkable large molecular second-order polarizabilities. Electronic transitions to crucial excited states show that x-polarized transition, contributed to the off-diagonal second-order polarizabiliy tensor (βzxx), possesses lower excited energy compared with z-polarized transition which accounted for the diagonal second-order polarizabiliy tensor (βzzz) and thus led to the large in-plane nonlinear anisotropy (u = βzxx/βzzz) value, as well as good two-dimensional (2-D) second-order NLO properties. A derivative of 2‐methylindole, 3‐[2‐(4‐nitrophenyl)ethenyl]‐1‐allyl‐2‐methylindole, NPEMI‐A, is studied for its photoconductivity and photorefractivity behaviour. Its blends with the organic polymer poly‐(2,3‐dimethyl‐N‐vinylindole), PVDMI, are also investigated. Due to the expected and devised mutual solubility of the two components of the blends, it is possible to carry out measurements with the weight percent of the chromophore NPEMI‐A changing from zero to 100. Films were produced by a squeezing process between two ITO‐covered glass sheets. No opacity phenomena, that are so common for many other organic blends due to the segregation of the dissolved chromophore, are observed. The photorefractive optical gain Γ2 is obtained as a function of the chromophore content. Differential scanning calorimetry measurements (DSC) are also carried out to obtain the whole change of the glass transition temperature Tg as a function of the amount of chromophore contained in the blends. From the experimental trend of Tg a meaningful quantitative estimate of the value of the electrostatic interactions acting in the studied blends, is obtained. The importance of the value of Tg, and of the electrostatic interactions, in determining the extent of the photorefractivity is clearly evident. The results are compared for NPEMI‐A (Γ2=210 cm?1) and for NPEMI‐E (Γ2 ≈ 2000 cm?1) that has a N‐2‐ethylhexyl group instead of a N‐allyl group. The Pockels and Kerr contributions and—for the first time—a “collaborative effect” of the photorefractivity of NPEMI‐A are distinguished and quantitatively evaluated. 相似文献

Preparation and characterization of Mg(II)-, Ca(II) and Cd(II) complexes of 1,2-ethanediol and water
Mixed ligand complexes of different compositions were prepared with water, sulfate ion and 1,2-ethanediol as ligand. IR spectra and the thermoanalytical curves of the complexes were recorded. Oxygen atoms bound by one or two coordinate bonds to the metal ion, or by hydrogen-bonds in the crystal, were observed. As for the water molecule, 1,2-ethanediol molecules of crystal and monohydrate type were found, depending on the type of binding of the oxygen atoms.This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date. 相似文献

Stable polyacrylamide (polyAA)–montmorillonite adducts were prepared by two distinct processes: (1) free radical copolymerization of AA with alkaline clay previously treated with 2-(N-methyl-N,N-diethyl ammonium iodide)ethylacrylate (QD1) and (2) direct interactions of alkaline montmorillonite with various preformed copolymers of AA with QD1. The structure of the adducts as determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction was shown to consist of AA macromolecules inserted between lamellar layers whose spacing was larger than in the polymer-free clay. The polymer was strongly attached to the inorganic surfaces, probably due to cooperative formation of electrostatic bonding. The thermal stability of the organic polymers in the resulting complexes was substantially enhanced while the mobility of macromolecules decreased. 相似文献

In four series of strictly related organocobalt complexes, derived from cobaloximes by replacement of the O…H…O with O…-BF2…O and/or (CH2)3 groups, the trends of 59Co-NMR shielding and electrochemical data are discussed. A largely parallel behaviour of the plots of E1/2(I) values for the first Co(III)/Co(II) electron transfer vs. the 59Co chemical shifts reflects the similar sensitivity of the two parameters to a change in electron affinity of the central metal ion due to a variation of the organic group R. E1/2(II) values for the second Co(II)/CO(I) electron transfer are less sensitive to the change of R, but the trend of the plot vs. δ(59Co) is still parallel in the four series. Consistent deviations from a roughly linear dependence of E1/2(I) on pKa of the hydrocarbon acid corresponding to R, on Taft constant s?* and on 59Co shielding are noticed for the isopropyl derivatives and attributed to a steric effect. This was confirmed in a series of R? Co(DMG)pyridine complexes in which 59Co shielding decreases steadily with increasing steric parameter Es (Taft) of the alkyl group. There is experimental evidence from X-ray data that δ(59Co) decreases with an increase of the Co? C bond length, illustrating steric hindrance in alkyl coordination to be responsible for the decreased shielding of the 59Co nucleus. The relative displacements of the graphic displays for the different series reflect the effect of changes in electron affinity of the redox center, due to the equatorial ligand, which, in turn, is caused by variations in the electron-withdrawing power due to the introduction of the BF2 group and by the change from ?2 to ?1 valence of the (CH2)3-capped ligands. 相似文献

The photo-oxygenation of adamantylideneadamantane ( 1 ) on siliceous supports using admixed granules of ion-exchange resin fixed to methylene blue (MB) and rose bengal (RB) gave exclusively the corresponding dioxetane derivative 2 for the former sensitizer, while the latter gave 2 and traces of the epoxide 3. RB and the charge-transfer complex produced from N-ethylcarbazole and 2,4,5,6-tetranitrofluoren-9-one both reacted with chemically generated singlet oxygen to give superoxide radical anion. Trapping of the latter with 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline 1-oxide gave an adduct exhibiting a characteristic ESR spectrum. The treatment of 1 in MeOH with 30% aqueous H2O2 for 22 h at 60° gave 3 in 100% yield. Repetition of this experiment in the presence of 2,6-di(tert-butyl)-p-cresol caused no significant change. These results indicate that singlet oxygen reacts with 1 , in the presence of RB, by two different processes. The first leads to dioxetane formation. The second process involves conversion of singlet oxygen by RB to superoxide radical anion which subsequently gives H2O2 so producing epoxide 3 from 1 . 相似文献

Co-Salox complexes are suitable catalysts for the reduction of prochiral α,β-unsaturated esters. These ligands can be prepared in a single step from available and inexpensive materials, thus representing an easily accessible alternative to previously reported Co-catalysts. NaBH4 is employed as reducing agent in the presence of EtOH as proton source, leading to the stereoselective formation of chiral esters, amides, and nitriles in up to 99 % yield and 96.5 : 3.5 er. The concentration of the reductant counter cation (Na+) and the solvent polarity have been shown to correlate with reactivity and enantioselectivity, suggesting that a relatively complex mechanistic manifold is in place. 相似文献

Benzothiophenes, activated by oxidation to the corresponding S-oxides, undergo C−H/C−H-type coupling with phenols to give C4 arylation products. While an electron-withdrawing group at C3 of the benzothiophene is important, the process operates without a directing group and a metal catalyst, thus rendering it compatible with sensitive functionalities—e.g. halides and formyl groups. Quantum chemical calculations suggest a formal stepwise mechanism involving heterolytic cleavage of an aryloxysulfur species to give a π-complex of the corresponding benzothiophene and a phenoxonium cation. Subsequent addition of the phenoxonium cation to the C4 position of the benzothiophene is favored over the addition to C3; Fukui functions predict that the major regioisomer is formed at the more electron-rich position between C3 and C4. Varied selective manipulation of the benzothiophene products showcase the synthetic utility of the metal-free arylation process. 相似文献

A micrometric silica modified with perylene derivative (SiO2–TES) has been prepared by hydrolysis–condensation reactions between silica and N,N’-bis-(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)-perylene-tetracarboxyldiimide (P-TES) and utilized as filler in LLDPE films together with a compatibilizer. Spectroscopic analyses on SiO2–TES confirmed the grafting of P-TES on silica, while its amount was determined by thermogravimetric analysis. Solid state NMR provided information about the structure of silicon atoms involved in the condensation of SiO2 and P-TES that resulted mainly in silicon atoms grafted with bi-dentate anchorages.UV–Vis and fluorescence analyses carried out on P-TES showed the ability of the dye to generate J-type aggregates in apolar solvents. The same analyses on SiO2–TES revealed the presence of both isolated and aggregated dye molecules grafted on silica surface, while on polymeric dispersions of SiO2–TES, they have shown only the presence of P-TES aggregates grafted to silica.Thanks to the direct correlation between optical properties (obtained both by UV–Vis and by fluorescence analyses) and the chemical environment of composites, the luminescent silica SiO2–TES could be used to estimate the filler dispersion extent in different microcomposite polymer materials. 相似文献
