A fungal culture (Penicillium sp., HT-28), isolated from soil has been evaluated for its bioactivity, which showed broad spectrum antimicrobial activity and was effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) also. Statistical optimization of the medium by response surface methodology (RSM) enhanced the antimicrobial activity up to 1.8-fold. Column chromatography was used to isolate the active compound (A), which was characterized to be 6-[1,2-dimethyl-6-(2-methyl-allyloxy)-hexyl]-3-(2-methoxy-phenyl)-chromen-4-one by various spectroscopic techniques such as infrared (IR), 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra, and mass spectroscopy. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the active compound (A) ranged from 0.5 to 15 μg/mL. Viable cell count studies of the active compound (A) showed S. aureus, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Salmonella typhimurium 1 to be the most sensitive. The compound retained its bioactivity after treating it at 100 °C for 1 h. Furthermore, the compound (A) when tested for its biosafety was found neither to be cytotoxic nor mutagenic. The study demonstrated that an apparently novel compound isolated from Penicillium sp. (HT-28) seems to be a stable and potent antimicrobial.  相似文献

The segmented gamma ray scanning system developed for the assay of plutonium present in 200?L waste drums was modified for the estimation of gram amounts of plutonium in the presence of high beta gamma activity. A multi gamma ray source of 152Eu having?~1?mCi activity was used for the determination of attenuation correction factors for high count rate drums. Dead time corrections were applied to arrive at the corrected count rates for all the gamma rays. Present study has shown that the estimation of?~1?g of 239Pu in a waste drum can be carried out in the presence of 137Cs up to an activity level of 20?mCi.  相似文献

In the method of tapering the cross section of the interaction structure for broadbanding a gyro-TWT, the different portions of the interaction length of the tapered-cross-section waveguide become effective for different frequency ranges if the magnetic field and beam parameters are profiled to maintain the condition of electron cyclotron resonance throughout the interaction length. In the present paper, the study of profiling the magnetic field and beam parameters in steps of the stepped analytical model of a double-tapered disc-loaded circular waveguide was made throughout the steps of the model. In the observed profile, the magnetic flux density in a typical step relative to its value in first-step decreases from first-step (gun-end) to end-step (collector-end) of the model considering the up-tapering schemes, in which structure parameters increase from gun-end to collector-end. Also, the transverse beam velocity in a typical step relative to its value in first-step decreases from gun-end to collector-end. However, the Larmor radius in a typical step relative to its value in first-step as well as the hollow-beam radius in a typical step relative to its value in first-step, both increase from gun-end to collector-end in the model considering the up-tapering schemes.  相似文献

We describe a complete implementation of all‐atom protein molecular dynamics running entirely on a graphics processing unit (GPU), including all standard force field terms, integration, constraints, and implicit solvent. We discuss the design of our algorithms and important optimizations needed to fully take advantage of a GPU. We evaluate its performance, and show that it can be more than 700 times faster than a conventional implementation running on a single CPU core. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Since the introduction of erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) in optical fiber communication systems at 1550 nm, the fiber loss is no longer considered as the limiting factor but the fiber dispersion and chirp parameters play an important role in degrading the performance of optical communication systems. Further, the invention of external modulators of Mach-Zehnder (MS) type minimizes the transmission power penalty due to fiber chromatic dispersion as these modulators are consider almost chirp-free modulators. Also, better suppression of nonlinear distortions consists of harmonic distortions (HDs) and intermodulation distortions (IMDs) were achieved by using Mach-Zehnder external modulator [8]. In this work, a simulation comparison of external- and direct-modulation schemes using different optical amplifiers; SOA and EDFA in single-tone RoF system is reported. A single-tone channel of 20 GHz is transmitted over single-mode fiber (SMF) either externally modulated by using single-electrode (SEMZM) - and dual-electrode (DEMZM) - Mach-Zehnder modulator or by direct-modulation scheme. Better improvements in the measurement of received RF power of a 20 km linked single-tone RoF system are achieved by using SEMZM with EDFA, which means maximum optical link is achieved between Central Office (CO) and Base Station (BS). Further, this scheme provides better BER as compare to other schemes discussed in this paper.  相似文献

Two silver salts, silver tetrafluoroborate and silver trifluoromethanesulfonate were dissolved in two different room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs), 1-Butyl-3 methyl imidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([Bmim][BF4]) and 1-Butyl-1 methyl pyrrolidinium trifluoromethanesulfonate ([Bmpy][Tfms]). Triton x-100 (TX-100) surfactant and cyclohexane as nonpolar medium are used to dissolve these RTILs to create reverse micellar system. Pure reverse micellar system is characterized by dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurement. These pure RTIL reverse micellar systems are used to prepare stable silver nanoparticle solution without using any other auxiliary solvent in the whole process.  相似文献

In this article the local stability of the Rabinovich–Fabrikant (R–F) chaotic system with fractional order time derivative is analyzed using fractional Routh–Hurwitz stability criterion. Feedback control method is used to control chaos in the considered fractional order system and after controlling the chaos the authors have introduced the synchronization between fractional order non-chaotic R–F system and the chaotic R–F system at various equilibrium points. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. Numerical simulation results which are carried out using Adams–Boshforth–Moulton method show that the method is effective and reliable for synchronizing the systems.  相似文献
