This paper presents the complete analytical solution of several fundamental problems in orbital correction. The initial orbit is represented by a given point in the phase space, while the final orbit is constrained to stay in a given curve which can be bounded, unbounded, or composed of a finite number of segments of different curves. The inclusion of atmospheric maneuver as part of the optimum process is discussed; its analytical treatment can be carried out by modifying the final state to include the set of orbits having their perigee at the boundary of the atmosphere.The selection of the apogee and perigee distances as state variables gives a symmetric form to the problem and results in a linear differential equation of the first order for the ratio of the adjoint variables. The introduction of a curve of comparison, called the separatrix, facilitates the discussion of the existence of a corner on an optimal trajectory.This work was supported by NASA Contract No. NASr 54(06).  相似文献

Compliance and enforcement in fisheries are important issues from an economic point of view since management measures are useless without a certain level of enforcement. These conclusions come from the well‐established theoretical literature on compliance and enforcement problems within fisheries and a common result is that, it is efficient to set fines as high as possible and monitoring as low as possible, when fines are costless and offenders are risk neutral. However, this result is sensitive to the assumption that fishermen cannot engage in avoidance activities, e.g., activities to reduce the likelihood of being detected when noncomplying. The paper presents a model of fisheries that allows the fishermen to engage in avoidance activities. The conclusions from the model are that, under certain circumstances, fines are costly transfers to society since they not only have a direct positive effect on the level of deterrence, but also an indirect negative effect in the form of increased avoidance activities to reduce the probability of detection. The paper contributes to the literature on avoidance activities by introducing the externality from the illegal behavior as an endogenous effect on other offenders. For an externality, that has an exogenous effect on other actors, Malik shows that fines are only costly transfers for conditional deterrence (when one actor is deterred while another actor is not). For fisheries, we show that fines are also costly transfers under no deterrence (when no agents are deterred).  相似文献

We developed nanosized, reduced graphene oxide (nano-rGO) sheets with high near-infrared (NIR) light absorbance and biocompatibility for potential photothermal therapy. The single-layered nano-rGO sheets were ~20 nm in average lateral dimension, functionalized noncovalently by amphiphilic PEGylated polymer chains to render stability in biological solutions and exhibited 6-fold higher NIR absorption than nonreduced, covalently PEGylated nano-GO. Attaching a targeting peptide bearing the Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) motif to nano-rGO afforded selective cellular uptake in U87MG cancer cells and highly effective photoablation of cells in vitro. In the absence of any NIR irradiation, nano-rGO exhibited little toxicity in vitro at concentrations well above the doses needed for photothermal heating. This work established nano-rGO as a novel photothermal agent due to its small size, high photothermal efficiency, and low cost as compared to other NIR photothermal agents including gold nanomaterials and carbon nanotubes.  相似文献

Processing of polystyrene at 160°C for different periods in the closed chamber of a Brabender Plastograph results in no appreciable oxidation. Therefore, the photo-oxidative stability of the polymer, as measured from retention of the ultimate tensile strength, is not affected by such treatment. On the other hand, acetophenone groups, the concentration of which increases with processing time, are produced at 160°C in the open chamber of the Plastograph as a consequence of extensive thermal oxidation. A quantitative correlation is found between the rate of change of the ultimate tensile strength of polystyrene and the extent of thermal oxidation. It is also demonstrated that a phenolic antioxidant, although it efficiently inhibits the thermal oxidation, has no specific effect on the photo-oxidation of polystyrene. A hindered amine light stabiliser, however, exhibits a pronounced photo-protective effect. A mixture of these additives combines the benefits of both.  相似文献

In this work we present the isomeric ratio of fission product 135Xe in the photo-fission of actinide elements 232Th, 233U and 237Np induced by end-point bremsstrahlung energies of 13.5, 23.5 and 25.0 MeV which were determined by the method of inert gaseous flow. The data were analyzed, discussed and compared with the similar data from literature to examine the role of energy separated in fission process, excitation energy and reaction channels effects.  相似文献

The molecular‐beam Fourier transform microwave spectrum of 2‐acetyl‐5‐methylfuran is recorded in the frequency range 2–26.5 GHz. Quantum chemical calculations calculate two conformers with trans or cis configuration of the acetyl group, both of which are assigned in the experimental spectrum. All rotational transitions split into quintets due to the internal rotations of two nonequivalent methyl groups. By using the program XIAM, the experimental spectra can be simulated with standard deviations within the measurement accuracy, and yield well‐determined rotational and internal rotation parameters, inter alia the V3 potentials. Whereas the V3 barrier height of the ring‐methyl rotor does not change for the two conformers, that of the acetyl‐methyl rotor differs by about 100 cm?1. The predicted values from quantum chemistry are only on the correct order of magnitude.  相似文献
