In the present work, we report a polarized Raman study versus temperature of the complex O–H stretching vibrational band (3800–3000 cm−1) performed in a glass forming liquid, namely propylene-glycol (PG), with chemical formula given by H[OCH(CH3)CH2]OH. The spectra were collected in bulk and confined state within a sol–gel controlled porous glass having highly interconnected 25 Å diameter pores and characterized by a huge number of silanol groups (Si–OH), able to interact with PG molecules via hydrogen bond. The goal was to investigate how the hydrophilic nature of the surface influenced the molecular mobility of this hydrogen-bonded system, by monitoring intra- and inter-molecular host–host and host–guest interactions. The analysed O–H spectral region was decomposed into Gaussian symmetrical profiles, each of them associated to a well-defined aggregate, triggered by the presence of H-bond. Passing from the bulk state to the confined one, a clear change of the dynamical properties has been revealed and related to the interactions with the surface. The observed results were discussed on the basis of current models for associated liquids. 相似文献

The laccase family of Pleurotus ostreatus has been widely characterized, and studies of the genes coding for laccase isoenzymes in P. ostreatus have so far led to the identification of four different genes and the corresponding cDNAs, poxc, pox1, poxa1b and poxa3. Analyses of P. ostreatus laccase promoters poxc, pox1, poxa1b and poxa3 have allowed identification of several putative response elements, and sequences of metal-responsive elements involved in the formation of complexes with fungal proteins have been identified in poxc and poxa1b promoters. In this work, development of a system for in vivo analysis of P. ostreatus laccase promoter poxc by enhanced green fluorescent protein expression is performed, based on a poly ethylene glycol-mediated procedure for fungal transformation. A quantitative measurement of fluorescence expressed in P. ostreatus transformants is hereby reported for the first time for this fungus. 相似文献

Focus of this work was the development and characterization of a new immobilized enzyme reactor (IMER) containing human recombinant butyrylcholinesterase (rBChE) for the on-line kinetic characterization of specific, pseudo-irreversible and brain-targeted BChE inhibitors as potential drug candidates for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Specifically, a rBChE-IMER containing 0.99 U of covalently bound target enzyme was purposely developed and inserted into a HPLC system connected to a UV-vis detector. Selected reversible cholinesterase inhibitors, (-)-phenserine and (-)-cymserine analogues, were then kinetically characterized by rBChE-IMER, and by classical in solution assays and their carbamoylation and decarbamoylation constants were determined. The results support the elucidation of the potency, inhibition duration, mode of action and specific structure/activity relations of these agents and allow cross-validation of the two assay techniques. 相似文献

We utilise 3D design and 3D printing techniques to fabricate a number of miniaturised fluidic 'reactionware' devices for chemical syntheses in just a few hours, using inexpensive materials producing reliable and robust reactors. Both two and three inlet reactors could be assembled, as well as one-inlet devices with reactant 'silos' allowing the introduction of reactants during the fabrication process of the device. To demonstrate the utility and versatility of these devices organic (reductive amination and alkylation reactions), inorganic (large polyoxometalate synthesis) and materials (gold nanoparticle synthesis) processes were efficiently carried out in the printed devices. 相似文献

In the present work, we report on a detailed characterization of Late Roman and Byzantine (from 2nd to 8th century A.D.) glass specimen found in Catania (Sicily, Southern Italy) by the employment of two complementary techniques, namely scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive spectrometry (SEM–EDS) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) absorbance spectroscopy. The glass fragments come from archaeological excavations in the courtyard of St. Agata la Vetere's church in Catania. In particular, compositional data were obtained by scanning SEM–EDS measurements and the investigation of the degradation on the surface of the glass specimen was made combining the SEM–EDS observations with those performed through FT-IR absorbance. The whole set of results contributed to define the provenance of the specimens. Furthermore, the data furnished new evidences of the technical development of glass production in Late Roman and Byzantine period in Catania. 相似文献

Negroamaro is an autochthonous wine grape variety of Southern Italy, which is becoming very important for the Italian wine market. The wine aroma is primary affected by the chemical composition of grapes, which can be influenced also by agronomic practices such as soil management. In this study, the free and bound aroma characterization was performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analyses, and the influence of two soil managements (cover cropping and soil tillage) was evaluated. A total of 40 volatile compounds were observed in the wine samples. Alcohols (55.7?mg/L), fatty acids (7.0?mg/L) and esters (6.6?mg/L) were found as the main classes in Negroamaro wine. The results showed that the aroma composition of Negroamaro wine was positively affected by soil tillage probably because of the higher water stress (ψ(s) ) recorded in the vines from this treatment. Indeed, among the free volatile compounds, higher contents of esters, carboxylic acids, alcohols, phenolics and acetamides together with lower contents of sulfurs compounds were found in soil tillage wine. The present work reports a detailed investigation on the speciation of iron in the pigments of decorated pottery fragments of cultural heritage relevance. The fragments come from the Gioiosa Guardia archaeological site in the area of the `Strait of Messina' (Sicily, Southern Italy), and date back to VI–V century BC. The purpose of this study is to characterize the main pigmenting agents responsible for the dark‐red coloration of the specimens using non‐destructive analytical techniques such as synchrotron radiation X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (SR‐XAS), a well established technique for cultural heritage and environmental subjects. Absorption spectra were collected at the Fe K‐edge on the Italian beamline for absorption and diffraction (BM8‐GILDA) at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble (France). In order to determine the speciation of Fe in the samples, principal component analysis and least‐squares fitting procedures were applied to the near‐edge part of the absorption spectra (XANES). Details on the local structure around the Fe sites were obtained by analyzing the extended part of the spectra (EXAFS). Furthermore, an accurate determination of the average Fe oxidation state was carried out through analysis of the pre‐edge peaks of the absorption spectra. Samples resulted composed of an admixture of Fe2O3 (hematite or maghemite) and magnetite (Fe3O4), occurring in different relative abundance in the dark‐ and light‐colored areas of the specimens. In a previous note Gröchenig et al. prove that if g is a continuous function with compact support such that the translates of g form a partition of unity, then g cannot generate a Gabor frame for integer values of the frequency shift parameter b greater than 1 (Gröchenig et al. in IEEE Trans Inform Theory 49:3318–3320, 2003). We give a simpler proof of this result which applies also to windows g which are neither continuous nor with compact support. In this article, we obtain families of frames for the space B ω of functions with band in [?ω, ω] by using the theory of shift-invariant spaces. Our results are based on the Gramian analysis of Ron and Shen and a variant, due to Bownik, of their characterization of families of functions whose shifts form frames or Riesz bases. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the translates of a finite number of functions (generators) to be a frame or a Riesz basis for B ω . We also give explicit formulas for the dual generators, and we apply them to Hilbert transform sampling and derivative sampling. Finally we provide numerical experiments that support the theory. 相似文献
