From urea to nucleobases : Freeze–thaw cycles in urea ( 1 ) solutions under methane/nitrogen atmospheres lead, with application of an energy source, to the synthesis of pyrimidines (mainly cytosine ( 2 ) and uracil ( 3 )), triazines (such as cyanuric acid ( 4 )), and adenine. This synthesis appears to be dependent on the atmosphere and the freezing conditions. At room temperature, hydantoin ( 5 ) is obtained. However, a freezing urea/water system subjected to an energy source under an inert atmosphere generates s‐triazines.

Following a bottom-up approach to nanomaterials, we present a rational synthetic route to high-spin and anisotropic molecules based on hexacyanometalate [M(CN)(6)](3-) cores. Part 1 of this series was devoted to isotropic heptanuclear clusters; herein, we discuss the nuclearity and the structural anisotropy of nickel(II) derivatives. By changing either the stoichiometry, the nature of the terminal ligand, or the counterion, it is possible to tune the nuclearity of the polynuclear compounds and therefore to control the structural anisotropy. We present the synthesis and the characterisation by mass spectrometry, X-ray crystallography and magnetic susceptibility of bi-, tri-, tetra-, hexa- and heptanuclear species [M(CN)(n)(CN-M'L)(6-n)](m+) (with n=0-5; M=Cr(III), Co(III), M'=Ni(II); L=pentadentate ligand). Thus, with M=Cr(III), d(3), S=3/2, a dinuclear complex [Cr(III)(CN)(5)(CN-NiL(n))](9+), (L(n)=polydentate ligand) was built and characterised, showing a spin ground state, S(G)=5/2, with a ferromagnetic interaction J(Cr,Cu)=+18.5 cm(-1). With M=Co(III) (d(6), S=0) were built di-, tri-, tetra-, hexa and hepanuclear CoNi species: CoNi, CoNi(2), CoNi(3), CoNi(5) and CoNi(6). By a first approximation, they behave as one, two, three, five and six isolated nickel(II) complexes, respectively, but more accurate studies allow us to evaluate the weak antiferromagnetic coupling constant between two next-nearest neighbours M'-Co-M'. 相似文献

A convenient preparation of (1R,2S,3R,4S)-3-(neopentyloxy)isoborneol (= (1R,2S,3R,4S)-3-(2,2-dimethyl-propoxy)-1,7,7-trimethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptan-2-ol; 1a ), a valuable chiral auxiliary, is described. The synthesis involves six steps starting from the readily available camphorquinone ( 5 ) and gives 1a in 48% overall yield. A complex-as-ligand strategy to get a multifunctional molecular material led to a metal-organic framework with the formula (NH(4))(4)[MnCr(2)(ox)(6)]·4H(2)O. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction revealed that the anionic bimetallic coordination network adopts a chiral three-dimensional quartz-like architecture. It hosts ammonium cations and water molecules in functionalized channels. In addition to ferromagnetic ordering below T(C) = 3.0 K related to the host network, the material exhibits a very high proton conductivity of 1.1 × 10(-3) S cm(-1) at room temperature due to the guest molecules. 相似文献

Water molecules strongly interact with freshly cleaved (011) surfaces of L-alanine single crystals at low relative humidity (below 10%) promoting diffusion of L-alanine molecules. Species mobility is enhanced above ~40% leading to the formation of two-dimensional islands with long-range order through Ostwald ripening. Scanning force microscopy experiments reveal that both, islands and terraces, are identical in nature (composition and crystallographic structure) but a relevant friction asymmetry appearing upon water-surface interaction evidences that orientation dependent properties exist between them at the molecular level. We interpret this observation as due to water incorporation in the topmost surface crystal structure. Eventually, for high humidity values, surface dissolution and roughening occur. 相似文献
