Cardiac elastography is a useful diagnostic technique for detection of heart function abnormalities, based on analysis of echocardiograms. The analysis of the regional heart motion allows assessing the extent of myocardial ischemia and infarction. In this paper, a new two-stage algorithm for cardiac motion estimation is proposed, where the data is taken from a sequence of 2D echocardiograms. The method combines the advantages of block-matching and optical flow techniques. The first stage employs a standard block-matching algorithm (sum of absolute differences) to provide a displacement estimate with accuracy of up to one pixel. At the second stage, this estimate is corrected by estimating the parameters of a local image transform within a test window. The parameters of the image transform are estimated in the least-square sense. In order to account for typical heart motions, like contraction/expansion, translation and rotation, a local affine model is assumed within the test window. The accuracy of the new algorithm is evaluated using a sequence of 500 grayscale B-mode images, which are generated as distorted, but known copies of an original ROI, taken from a real echocardiogram. The accuracy of the motion estimation is expressed in terms of errors: maximum absolute error, root-mean-square error, average error and standard deviation. The errors of the proposed algorithm are compared with these of the known block-matching technique with cross-correlation and interpolation in the sub-pixel space. Statistical analysis of the errors shows that the proposed algorithm provides more accurate estimates of the heart motion than the cross-correlation technique with interpolation in the sub-pixel space. 相似文献

Line-integral approximations to the acoustic path integral have been used to estimate the magnitude of the fluctuations in an acoustic signal traveling through an ocean filled with internal waves. These approximations for the root-mean-square (rms) fluctuation and the bias of travel time, rms fluctuation in a vertical arrival angle, and the spreading of the acoustic pulse are compared here to estimates from simulations that use the parabolic equation (PE). PE propagations at 250 Hz with a maximum range of 1000 km were performed. The model environment consisted of one of two sound-speed profiles perturbed by internal waves conforming to the Garrett-Munk (GM) spectral model with strengths of 0.5, 1, and 2 times the GM reference energy level. Integral-approximation (IA) estimates of rms travel-time fluctuations were within statistical uncertainty at 1000 km for the SLICE89 profile, and in disagreement by between 20% and 60% for the Canonical profile. Bias estimates were accurate for the first few hundred kilometers of propagation, but became a strong function of time front ID beyond, with some agreeing with the PE results and others very much larger. The IA structure functions of travel time with depth are predicted to be quadratic with the form theta(2)vc0(-2)deltaz(2), where deltaz is vertical separation, c0 is a reference sound speed, and thetav is the rms fluctuation in an arrival angle. At 1000 km, the PE results were close to quadratic at small deltaz, with values of thetav in disagreement with those of the integral approximation by factors of order 2. Pulse spreads in the PE results were much smaller than predicted by the IA estimates. Results imply that acoustic tomography of internal waves at ranges up to 1000 km can use the IA estimate of travel-time variance with reasonable reliability. 相似文献

The vector partition problem concerns the partitioning of a set A of n vectors in d-space into p parts so as to maximize an objective function c which is convex on the sum of vectors in each part. Here all parameters d, p, n are considered variables. In this paper, we study the adjacency of vertices in the associated partition polytopes. Using our adjacency characterization for these polytopes, we are able to develop an adaptive algorithm for the vector partition problem that runs in time O(q(L)v) and in space O(L), where q is a polynomial function, L is the input size and v is the number of vertices of the associated partition polytope. It is based on an output-sensitive algorithm for enumerating all vertices of the partition polytope. Our adjacency characterization also implies a polynomial upper bound on the combinatorial diameter of partition polytopes. We also establish a partition polytope analogue of the lower bound theorem, indicating that the output-sensitive enumeration algorithm can be far superior to previously known algorithms that run in time polynomial in the size of the worst-case output. 相似文献

The radiative decayJ/ψ → γ π+ π? has been studied using the 8.6 millionJ/ψ produced in the DM2 experiment at the DCIe +e? storage rings at Orsay. The π+ π? mass spectrum shows a cleanf 2 (1270) signal, and the possible presence of two other states at thef 2 (1720) andf 4 (2030) masses. For thef 2 (1270), the branching ratio BR(J/ψ →γf)xBR(f→π+ π?) is measured to be (7.50±0.30±1.12)×10?4, and the spin analysis prefers theJ=2 assignment, with helicity parametersx=0.83±0.06 andy=0.01±0.06. Many mathematical programming models arising in practice present a block structure in their constraint systems. Consequently, the feasibility of these problems depends on whether the intersection of the solution sets of each of those blocks is empty or not. The existence theorems allow to decide when the intersection of non-empty sets in the Euclidean space, which are the solution sets of systems of (possibly infinite) inequalities, is empty or not. In those situations where the data (i.e., the constraints) can be affected by some kind of perturbations, the problem consists of determining whether the relative position of the sets is preserved by sufficiently small perturbations or not. This paper focuses on the stability of the non-empty (empty) intersection of the solutions of some given systems, which can be seen as the images of set-valued mappings. We give sufficient conditions for the stability, and necessary ones as well; in particular we consider (semi-infinite) convex systems and also linear systems.
