This article reports on the synthesis, characterization, and properties of various anthracene‐containing poly (p‐phenylene‐ethynylene)‐alt‐poly(p‐phenylene‐vinylene) (PPE‐PPV) polymers (AnE‐PVs) bearing statistical distributions of various side chains. Primarily, the ratio of linear octyloxy and branched 2‐ethylhexyloxy side chains at the poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) (PPV) parts was varied, leading to the polymers stat, stat1, and stat2. Furthermore, polymers also containing asymmetric substituted PPV and poly(p‐phenylene ethynylene) units (bearing methoxy and 2‐ethylhexyloxy side chains) were prepared yielding stat3, stat4, and stat5. These materials exhibit a broad variation in their photovoltaic properties. It is once more shown that side chains and their distribution can crucially affect the photovoltaic device performance. The introduction of units with asymmetric substitution into these systems seems to be harmful for their utilization in photovoltaic applications. Organic field‐effect transistors were fabricated to investigate hole mobilities in these new materials. Large variance was observed, falling in the range of almost two orders of magnitude, indicating rather different π–π stacking behavior of the polymer backbones owing to side‐chain modifications. Moreover, a selection of the new polymeric systems was investigated regarding their potential for light‐emitting diode (LED) applications. Polymer LEDs using the polymers AnE‐PVstat, ‐stat3, ‐stat4, and ‐stat5, as the active layer showed turn‐on voltage of ~2 V and exhibited red light emission. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Potentiostatic (galvanostatic) electrolysis of NH4SCN in an undivided cell under mild conditions (25 °C, Pt anode, MeCN) was employed to perform the anodic thiocyanation of nitrogen-containing heterocycles with yields up to 95%. Two d-erythrose 1,3-butadienes were reacted with electrophilic achiral t-butyl 2H-azirine 3-carboxylate giving cycloadducts with good yields and moderate selectivity. The isomers could be separated to give the major (R)-isomers at C-2 in approximately 50% yield in both cases. Three Pt4L2L′2 heteroleptic rectangles ( 1 – 3 ), containing ditopic redox-active bis-pyridine functionalized perylene bisimide (PBI) ligands PBI-pyr2 ( L ) are reported. Co-ligand L′ is a dicarboxylate spacer of varying length, leading to modified overall size of the assemblies. 1H NMR spectroscopy reveals a trend in the splitting and upfield chemical shift of the PBI-hydrogens in the rectangles with respect to free PBI, most pronounced with the largest strut length ( 3 ) and least with the smallest strut length ( 1 ). This is attributed to increased rotational freedom of the PBI-pyr 2 ligand over its longitudinal axis (Npy-Npy), due to increased distance between the PBI-surfaces, which is corroborated by VT-NMR measurements and DFT calculations. The intramolecular motion entails desymmetrization of the two PBI-ligands, in line with cyclic voltammetry (CV) data. The first (overall two-electron) reduction event and re-oxidation for 1 display a subtle peak-to-peak splitting of 60 mV, whilst increased splitting of this event is observed for 2 and 3 . The binding of pyrene in 1 is probed to establish proof of concept of host-guest chemistry enabled by the two PBI-motifs. Fitting the binding curve obtained by 1H NMR titration with a 1:1 complex formation model led to a binding constant of 964±55 m −1. Pyrene binding is shown to directly influence the redox-chemistry of 1 , resulting in a cathodic and anodic shift of approximately 46 mV on the first and second reduction event, respectively. 相似文献

Direct coupling of enolizable aldehydes with C‐alkynyl imines is realized affording the corresponding propargylic Mannich adducts of syn configuration, thus complementing previous methods that gave access to the anti‐isomers. The combination of proline and a urea Brønsted base cocatalyst is key for the reactions to proceed under very mild conditions (3–10 mol % catalyst loading, dichloromethane as solvent, ?20 °C, 1.2 molar equivalents of aldehyde) and with virtually total stereocontrol (syn/anti ratio up to 99:1; ee up to 99 %).
