Multidrug resistant bacteria create a challenging situation for society to treat infections. Multidrug resistance (MDR) is the reason for biofilm bacteria to cause chronic infection. Plant-based nanoparticles could be an alternative solution as potential drug candidates against these MDR bacteria, as many plants are well known for their antimicrobial activity against pathogenic microorganisms. Spondias mombin is a traditional plant which has already been used for medicinal purposes as every part of this plant has been proven to have its own medicinal values. In this research, the S. mombin extract was used to synthesise AgNPs. The synthesized AgNPs were characterized and further tested for their antibacterial, reactive oxygen species and cytotoxicity properties. The characterization results showed the synthesized AgNPs to be between 8 to 50 nm with -11.52 of zeta potential value. The existence of the silver element in the AgNPs was confirmed with the peaks obtained in the EDX spectrometry. Significant antibacterial activity was observed against selected biofilm-forming pathogenic bacteria. The cytotoxicity study with A. salina revealed the LC50 of synthesized AgNPs was at 0.81 mg/mL. Based on the ROS quantification, it was suggested that the ROS production, due to the interaction of AgNP with different bacterial cells, causes structural changes of the cell. This proves that the synthesized AgNPs could be an effective drug against multidrug resistant bacteria. 相似文献

Hybrid organic‐inorganic light‐emitting diodes were developed with pristine ZnO (2.0 wt%) and Cu‐doped ZnO (2.0 wt%) as electron injection layer and iridium(III)‐bis‐2‐(4‐fluorophenyl)‐1‐(naphthalen‐1‐yl)‐1H‐phenanthro[9,10‐d]imidazole (acetylacetonate) [Ir(fpnpi)2 (acac)] as green emissive layer (521 nm). The pristine ZnO and Cu‐doped ZnO are deposited at indium tin oxide cathode and emissive layer interface. The electroluminescent performances increased by electron injection layer–Cu‐doped ZnO compared with ZnO‐based device because Cu‐doped ZnO injects electron efficiently result in balanced h+ ? e? recombination in emissive layer than ZnO‐based device. The Cu‐doped ZnO (2.0 %) device shows luminance (L) of 10 982 cd/m2 at 23.0 V (ZnO, 1450 cd/m2 at 23.0 V). 相似文献

Two new free‐base β‐octa and hexaalkyl naphthobipyrrole‐derived sapphyrins are reported along with various salts thereof. One of them has substituents at all of its β positions, whereas the pyrrole unit opposite to the bipyrrolic moiety is unsubstituted in the other. The effect of bipyrrole fusion on the structure of sapphyrins was explored. Interestingly, an unprecedented sandwiched supramolecular aqua‐bridged free‐base sapphyrin dimer was also characterized in the solid state. Further, the effect of anions on the third‐order nonlinear optical properties of these sapphyrins were explored in the salt form, along with their detailed excited‐state dynamics by both degenerate and nondegenerate pump–probe studies. 相似文献

Novel 2,10‐dichloro‐6‐substituted‐4,8‐dinitro‐12H‐dibenzo[d,g][1,3,2]dioxaphosphocin 6‐oxides ( 4a–h ) were synthesized by reacting 5,5′‐dichloro‐3,3′‐dinitro‐2,2′‐dihydroxydiphenylmethane ( 2 ) with different aryl phosphorodichloridates ( 3a–g ) or bis(2‐chloroethyl)phosphoramidic dichloride ( 3h ) in the presence of triethylamine at 55–60°C, and the compounds 4i–l were prepared by reacting the 2,6,10‐trichloro‐4,8‐dinitro‐12H‐dibenzo[d,g][1,3,2]dioxaphosphocin 6‐sulfide ( 5 ) in situ with substituted phenols and thiophenol 5 was prepared by condensing 2 with thiophosphoryl chloride. IR, 1H, 13C, 31P NMR, and mass spectra supported all the proposed structures. Cadmium iodide has been studied from the point of view of nonlinear processes by experiments of optical amplification under two photon excitation. The two photon absorption (2PA) coefficient is determined by nonlinear transmittance technique. By means of two and three photon comparative luminescence measurements carried out using a ruby and neodymium laser, the three photon absorption (3PA) coefficient is determined.
