A facile synthesis of new 1,2‐dihydro‐2λ5‐[1,3]oxazolo[5,4‐d][1,3,2]diazaphosphinine derivatives starting from 2‐benzoylamino‐3, 3‐dichloroacrylonitrile

Easily accessible 2‐benzoylamino‐3,3‐dichloroacrylonitrile, when treated successively with primary amines, phosphorus pentachloride, sulfur dioxide, and various N‐ or S‐nucleophiles, furnishes the corresponding derivatives of 1,2‐dihydro‐2λ⁵‐[1,3]oxazolo[5,4‐d][1,3,2]diazaphosphinine, a novel fused heterocycle. The structure of the compounds obtained is unequivocally confirmed by spectroscopic methods and X‐ray diffraction analysis. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Heterocondensed 1,2,3‐diazaphosphorines

The reaction of phosphorus tribromide with phenylhydrazones of heterocyclic aldehydes leads to formation of a new phosphorus‐containing heterocyclic system—heterocondensed 1,2,3‐diazaphosphorines. Flame-resistant polynaphthoylenbenzimidazoles

Polynaphthoylenebenzimidazoles, copolynaphthoylenebenzimidazolophenylquinoxalines and copolynaphthoylenebenzimidazolonaphthylimides were obtained by high-temperature catalytic polycyclocondensation in phenolic solvents. All polymers obtained demonstrate high oxygen index values depending on polymers structure and naphthoylenebenzimidazole rings content in copolymers.     

New monomers and polymers via Diels-Alder cycloaddition

The series of new bis(naphthalic anhydrides) was prepared through Diels-Alder cycloaddition. The Diels-Alder cycloaddition was used as a synthetic route to new phenylated monomers as well as to polymers. All polymers synthesized revealed to be soluble in a wide range of organic solvents such as toluene, THF, chloroform, and displayed high thermostability. Therefore, they can be processed easily and are promising candidates for advanced coating systems as well as for electrooptical applications.
