A precise, accurate, and sensitive UV spectrophotometric method was developed and validated for routine quantification of total bioflavonoids, expressed as rutin, from a topical oil-in-water pharmaceutical emulsion containing the extract of Trichilia catigua Adr. Juss and Ptychopetalum olacoides Bentham. The method was validated experimentally, and the data were treated rigorously by statistical analysis. The following analytical parameters were assessed: linearity, specificity, intra- and interrun precision measured as relative standard deviation (RSD, %), intra- and interrun accuracy (E, %), recovery (Rec., %), limit of detection (LOD, microg/mL), and limit of quantification (LOQ, microg/mL). The UV spectrophotometric method was linear (r = 0.9995) for standard rutin over the concentration range of 5.0-15.0 microg/mL with specificity for total bioflavonoids (expressed as rutin) at 361.0 nm with an absence of interferents from the complex matrix; RSD of < or = 1.79%, intrarun (E = 97.88 +/- 1.75 to 99.0 +/- 0.33%) and interrun (E = 98.38 +/- 1.12 to 100.79 +/- 1.30%) accuracy; Rec. = 98.64 +/- 0.42 to 100.74 +/- 0.41%; LOD = 0.20 microg/mL; and LOQ = 0.30 microg/mL. 相似文献

The synthesis of structurally new types of ferrocene-based ureas, in which the ferrocene moiety is simultaneously attached to two urea groups, have been prepared directly from 1,1'-bis(isocyanato)ferrocene 1. Homoditopic receptors 2a-e show spectral and electrochemical anion-sensing action: they display a selective downfield shift of the urea protons and a cathodic shift of the ferrocene/ferrocinium redox couple with hydrogen phosphate and fluoride anions. Two density functional theories, the fundamental measures theory of Rosenfeld [Phys. Rev. Lett. 63, 980 (1989)] and a subsequent approximation by Tarazona [Phys. Rev. The comparative study between the theoretical molecular properties of the starting materials and the yields in the transformation of melampolides to cis,cis-germacranolides using SeO2/t-BuOOH (TBHP) as oxidant allows to establish a feasible relationship with their values of dipolar moment. Conditions for this transformation are optimized and some mechanistic considerations are made based in this finding. Cluster analysis of the phytotoxic activity of the melampolides and cis,cis-germacranolides obtained shows that the activity is greatly influenced by the spatial shape of the backbone, prevailing upon other factors such as the presence of reactive functional groups. 相似文献

Boron was chosen as fuel in view of its excellent thermodynamic values for combustion, as compared to traditional fuels. The problem of the boron in combustion is the formation of a surface layer of oxide, which delays the ignition process, reducing the performance of the rocket engine. This paper presents a high-energy fuel for rocket engines. It is composed of sintered boron (borides and carbides and vitreous compounds) with a reducing chemical agent. Borides and boron carbide were prepared since the combustion heat of the latter is similar to that of the amorphous boron (in: K.K. Kuo (Ed.), Boron-Based Solid Propellant and Solid Fuel, Vol. 427, CRC Press, Boca Raton, FL, 1993). Several chemical reducing elements were used, such as aluminum, magnesium, and coke. Mutational analysis of large multiexon genes without prevalent mutations is a laborious undertaking that requires the use of a high-throughput scanning technique. The Human Genome Project has enabled the development of powerful techniques for mutation detection in large multiexon genes. We have transferred heteroduplex analysis (HA) by conformation-sensitive gel electrophoresis of the two major breast cancer (BC) predisposing genes, BRCA1 and BRCA2, to a multicapillary DNA sequencer in order to increase the throughput of this technique. This new method that we have called heteroduplex analysis by capillary array electrophoresis (HA-CAE) is based on the use of multiplex-polymerase chain reaction (PCR), different fluorescent labels and HA in a 16-capillary DNA sequencer. To date, a total of 114 different DNA sequence variants (19 insertions/deletions and 95 single-nucleotide substitutions - SNS) of BRCA1 and BRCA2 from 431 unrelated BC families have been successfully detected by HA-CAE. In addition, we have optimized the multiplex-PCR conditions for the colorectal cancer genes MLH1 and MSH2 in order to analyze them by HA-CAE. Both genes have been amplified in 13 multiplex groups, which contain the 35 exons, and their corresponding flanking intronic sequences. MLH1 and MSH2 have been analyzed in nine hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer patients, and we have found six different DNA changes: one complex deletion/insertion mutation in MLH1 exon 19 and another five SNS. Only the complex mutation and one SNS may be classified as cancer-prone mutations. A mass spectrometric study of several tricarbonyl (eta(6)-phenyl methanols) of chromium(0) was performed. Reused tyres powder was used as reinforcement in HDPE-reused tyre composites. In order to improve the compatibility between both components, several pre-treatments performed over the rubber tyres were applied: sulphuric acid etching, use of a silane coupling agent and chlorination with trichloroisocyanuric acid (TCI). Mechanical properties of the resulting materials (e.g. tensile strength, Young’s Modulus, toughness and elongation at break) were studied and compared. Chemical modifications on the surface of reused tyres were monitored by FTIR and physical modifications and behaviour to fracture were followed by means of SEM. The influence of rubber pre-treatment was assessed by comparing the results of treated and untreated composites with those for neat HDPE. Reused tyre rubber, added to the HDPE in small quantities, acts as a filler, improving the stiffness and providing a more brittle behaviour. Pre-treatment with TCI gave poor results in terms of mechanical properties obtaining lower values than neat HDPE in some cases and always worst properties than sulphuric or silane coupling agent. Treatments with H2SO4 and silane coupling agent improve the ability of rubber to interact with the HDPE, increasing the material’s stiffness and its tensile strength. Sulphuric acid modificates chemical and physically the particles’ surface improving mainly mechanical adhesion, whereas silane acts as a compatibilizer developing chemical matrix-reinforcement interactions. 相似文献
