The behaviour of the systems formed by VO(2+), 2-hydroxypyridine-N-oxide (Hhpo) and 2-mercaptopyridine-N-oxide (Hmpo) was studied both in solution and in the solid state through the combined application of spectroscopic (EPR and UV-Vis spectroscopy) and DFT methods. The geometry of solid bis-chelated complexes [VOL(2)], with L = hpo and mpo, is square pyramidal, but it can change to cis-[VOL(2)S], where S is a solvent molecule, when these are dissolved in a coordinating solvent. The equilibrium between the square pyramidal and cis-octahedral forms is strongly affected by solvent and temperature. At room temperature, the predominant species is [VOL(2)], which gives a pink colour to the solutions; at lower temperatures, the equilibrium is shifted--partially or completely--toward the formation of cis-[VOL(2)S], which is green. In an acidic environment and in the presence of an excess of ligand, [VOL(2)] can transform into the tris-chelated complex [VL(3)](+), in which vanadium loses the oxido ligand and adopts a hexa-coordinated geometry intermediate between octahedral and trigonal prismatic. 1-Methylimidazole (1-MeIm), which represents a model for His-N coordination, forms mixed complexes with stoichiometry cis-[VOL(2)(1-MeIm)], occupying an equatorial position. In the ternary systems VO(2+)-Hhpo-hTf and VO(2+)-Hmpo-hTf at room temperature and pH 7.4, besides (VO)hTf and (VO)(2)hTf, the mixed species cis-VO(hpo)(2)(hTf) and VO(mpo)(hTf) are observed, with the equatorial binding of an accessible histidine residue. Finally, the contribution of the N-oxide group to (51)V A(z) and A(iso) hyperfine coupling constants, which can be important in the characterisation of similar species, is discussed.  相似文献

The β-turn unit is one of the most important secondary structure elements in proteins. The access to new conformationally controlled foldable modules can afford compounds with interesting bioactivities. Here, we describe a new family of peptido-squaramide foldable modules based on the considerable potential of the squaramide unit as a hydrogen bond donor and acceptor as well as the low rotational barrier of the C-N bond. The conformational analysis by NMR of these modules in chloroform and acetonitrile solution shows that a disecondary squaramide with the 4-aminobutyric acid in one of its substituents can mimic the β-turn structure driven by the formation of an intramolecular hydrogen bonded ten-membered ring. This structure, although flexible, has been successfully combined with dipeptide chains to induce the formation of a hairpin-like structure driven by the formation of several cross-strand intramolecular hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

We explore the Hawking evaporation of two-dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS2), dilatonic black hole coupled with conformal matter, and derive the Page curve for the entanglement entropy of radiation. We first work in a semiclassical approximation with backreaction. We show that the end-point of the evaporation process is AdS2 with a vanishing dilaton, i.e., a regular, singularity-free, zero-entropy state. We explicitly compute the entanglement entropies of the black hole and the radiation as functions of the horizon radius, using the conformal field theory (CFT) dual to AdS2 gravity. We use a simplified toy model, in which evaporation is described by the forming and growing of a negative mass configuration in the positive-mass black hole interior. This is similar to the “islands” proposal, recently put forward to explain the Page curve for evaporating black holes. The resulting Page curve for AdS2 black holes is in agreement with unitary evolution. The entanglement entropy of the radiation initially grows, closely following a thermal behavior, reaches a maximum at half-way of the evaporation process, and then goes down to zero, following the Bekenstein–Hawking entropy of the black hole. Consistency of our simplified model requires a non-trivial identification of the central charge of the CFT describing AdS2 gravity with the number of species of fields describing Hawking radiation.  相似文献

In this paper we have developed an effective computational procedure for the structural and dynamical investigation of ions in aqueous solutions. Quantum mechanical potential energy surfaces for the interaction of a transition metal ion with a water molecule have been calculated taking into account the effect of bulk solvent by the polarizable continuum model (PCM). The effective ion-water interactions have been fitted by suitable analytical potentials, and have been utilized in molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to obtain structural and dynamical properties of the ionic aqueous solutions. This procedure has been successfully applied to the Co2+-H2O open-shell system and, for the first time, Co-oxygen and Co-hydrogen pair potential functions have been determined and employed in MD simulations. The reliability of the whole procedure has been assessed by applying it also to the Zn2+ and Ni2+ aqueous solutions, and the structural and dynamical properties of the three systems have been calculated by means of MD simulations and have been found to be in very good agreement with experimental results. The structural parameters of the first solvation shells issuing from the MD simulations provide an effective complement to extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) experiments.  相似文献

The equilibria between the different forms of the topotecan anticancer drug have been studied at moderately acidic and physiological pH by an integrated computational tool rooted in the density functional theory and its time-dependent extension together with the polarizable continuum model. The results allow an unbiased selection between the different possible tautomeric forms and provide invaluable complements to experimental data. The ultraviolet-visible topotecan spectrum, recorded at moderately acidic pH, is accurately reproduced only by TD-DFT computations including solvent effects. Comparison of the experimental and calculated bands of the UV-vis spectrum at physiological pH indicates the presence of an equilibrium among different forms that is tuned by the microenvironment embedding the drug. The quantitative agreement between TD-DFT/PCM computations and experiments allows the identification of unequivocal spectroscopic signatures for different forms of topotecan.  相似文献

The enrichment factor of carbon-13 in the products of multiphoton dissociation of C2F5Cl has been investigated as a function of CO2-laser wavelength and fluence. Pressure effects have been studied both on the pure sample and in the presence of several additives (He, Xe, O2, H2, NO, I2). Dissociation of 12C2F5Cl and enrichment in carbon-13 are strongly affected by O2, which reacts with the fluoroalkyl radicals formed in the dissociation process.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a state-of-the-art 100 ns molecular dynamics simulation of a cadmium(II) aqueous solution that highlights a very flexible ion first coordination shell which transits between hexa- and heptahydrated complexes. From this investigation, a dynamical picture of the water exchange process emerges that takes place through an associative mechanism for the solvent substitution reaction. Our procedure starts from the generation of an effective two-body potential from quantum mechanical ab initio calculations in which the many-body ion-water terms are accounted for by the polarizable continuum method (PCM). This approach is computationally very efficient and has allowed us to carry out extremely long molecular dynamics simulations, indispensable to reproduce the dynamic properties of the cadmium(II) aqueous solution. Quantum mechanical ab initio calculations of the hexa- and heptahydrated complexes extracted from MD configurations have revealed stable minima for both clusters with the water molecules arranged in T(h)() and C(2) symmetries in the hexa- and heptahydrated complexes, respectively, with a slight energetic preference for the heptahydrated one. Finally, a comparison of the calculated hexa- and heptahydrated cluster IR and Raman spectra with the experimental data in the literature, has demonstrated that the IR spectroscopy is not able to distinguish between the two species, whereas the Raman spectrum of the Cd(2+)-(H(2)O)(7) cluster provides a better agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

In this study we report the results of cytogenetic tests, namely a search for chromosome aberrations (CA) and sister chromatid exchanges (SCEs), performed on human amniotic fluid cells cultured and treated with Cadmium chloride. The cells from primary cultures were exposed to CdCl2 at 1 microM and 10 microM for 24 h. At the higher dose, no metaphases were scored and at the lower dose (1 microM) no effects were evident on cell proliferation, and no chromosome aberrations were found. In the subsequent experiments we used cells from subcultures exposed to 1 microM and 5 microM CdCl2. At the 5 microM dose was evident the induction of chromatid breaks, while the frequency of sister chromatid exchanges shows a small increase, not statistically significant at the dose of 1 microM. In this study we positively demonstrated that amniotic fluid cells grown in vitro are reliable for testing various mutagenic or teratogenic substances. With regard to cadmium treatment results, it is evident a clastogenic effect of cadmium chloride but not a significant induction of SCEs.  相似文献

The concept of secondary building units (SBUs) is central to all science on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and they are widely used to design new MOF materials. However, the presence of SBUs during MOF formation remains controversial, and the formation mechanism of MOFs remains unclear, due to limited information about the evolution of prenucleation cluster structures. Here in situ pair distribution function (PDF) analysis was used to probe UiO-66 formation under solvothermal conditions. The expected SBU—a hexanuclear zirconium cluster—is present in the metal salt precursor solution. Addition of organic ligands results in a disordered structure with correlations up to 23 Å, resembling crystalline UiO-66. Heating leads to fast cluster aggregation, and further growth and ordering results in the crystalline product. Thus, SBUs are present already at room temperature and act as building blocks for MOF formation. The proposed formation steps provide insight for further development of MOF synthesis.  相似文献
