Polymer dispersed liquid crystals (PDLCs) using nematic liquid crystal and photo-curable polymer (NOA 65) were prepared by polymerisation-induced phase separation technique, in equal ratio (1:1) of polymer and liquid crystal (LC). We demonstrate that doping of small amount (0.125%, wt./wt.) of multiwall carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and orange azo dichroic dye in PDLC generously controlled the molecular orientation, dynamics of LC in droplet and size of droplets. The effects of multiwall CNTs and dye on PDLCs were studied in terms of transition temperature, droplet morphology, transmittance characteristic, contrast ratio and response time. The results exhibited that the values of the threshold electric fields were reduced from 8 V/µm (pure PDLC) to 1.18 and 1.72 V/µm, doped with multiwall CNTs and dye, respectively. The CNTs-doped PDLC shows faster switching response as compared with pure PDLC and dye-doped PDLC. However, dye-doped PDLC shows much higher contrast among all PDLC samples. Further, the results also illustrate that the birefringence value of LC in PDLCs was changed with doping of CNTs and dye. 相似文献

Poisson mixed models are used to analyze a wide variety of cluster count data. These models are commonly developed based on the assumption that the random effects have either the log-normal or the gamma distribution. Obtaining consistent as well as efficient estimates for the parameters involved in such Poisson mixed models has, however, proven to be difficult. Further problem gets mounted when the data are collected repeatedly from the individuals of the same cluster or family. In this paper, we introduce a generalized quasilikelihood approach to analyze the repeated familial data based on the familial structure caused by gamma random effects. This approach provides estimates of the regression parameters and the variance component of the random effects after taking the longitudinal correlations of the data into account. The estimators are consistent as well as highly efficient. 相似文献

We extend the \(\lambda \)-theory of operator spaces given in Defant and Wiesner (J. Funct. Anal. 266(9): 5493–5525, 2014), that generalizes the notion of the projective, Haagerup and Schur tensor norm for operator spaces to matrix ordered spaces and Banach \(*\)-algebras. Given matrix regular operator spaces and operator systems, we introduce cones related to \(\lambda \) for the algebraic operator space tensor product that respect the matricial structure of matrix regular operator spaces and operator systems, respectively. The ideal structure of \(\lambda \)-tensor product of \(C^*\)-algebras has also been discussed. 相似文献

Vibrational spectra of insulator emeraldine base (EB) form of polyaniline and electrical conductive sulfuric acid-and phosphoric
acid-doped emeraldine salts (ES) were studied in the region of 4000-400 cm−1 at ambient temperature by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Infrared transmittance spectra of EB and ES were investigated
to understand the bonding behavior of different organic and inorganic groups present in the polymeric chains and their structural
variations on protonation by sulfate or phosphate ion inclusion in the polymer salt network. These studies revealed the para-coupling
of deformed disubstituted benzenoid (B) and quinoid (Q) rings with ends capped predominantly by (B4Q1) units. The deformation
of B and Q rings was confirmed by the appearance of many weak bands, very weak bands, and satellite structures in strong transmittance
peaks of polymeric chain-constituting groups. Protonation takes place at the nitrogen sites of Q rings and forms semiquinone
radical ions in ES. The vibrational bands pertaining to B rings, Q rings, B4Q1 units, semiquinone segment, sulfate ions, and
phosphate ions were observed and assigned from these measurements. The shift in peak position of some bands with gain or loss
in intensity and appearance of some new bands were observed in sulfuric acid-and phosphoric acid-doped ES spectra. These variations
are attributed to the formation of new structural groups in ES on protonation and a change in crystalline field by sulfate
and phosphate ion doping for crosslinking the polymeric chains. 相似文献

The complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) metal ions has been synthesized through template method by the condensation of succinic acid dihydrazide with 5-chloroisatin in alcoholic medium. Complexes were characterized by C H N analysis, molar conductance, thermal analysis, magnetic susceptibility, mass spectrometry, FTIR, EPR, 1H NMR, UV–Visible spectroscopy. These studies suggest an octahedral geometry for all the complexes. The compounds were found active against B. subtilis and S. aureus and P. aeruginosa and E. coli bacteria. The Zn(II) complex showed significant anticancer activity against Squamous Cell Carcinoma cells tested by the MTT assay method. Molecular docking studies with EGFR tyrosine kinase were also carried out. All these results show that some of the synthesized compounds have remarkable antibacterial and anticancer property. 相似文献
