Electrical conductivity and magnetic susceptibility of titanium monoxide

Conductivity and magnetic susceptibility of disordered cubic titanium monoxide TiO_y(0.920≤y≤1.262) are studied. Temperature dependences of the conductivity of TiO_y monoxides with y≤1.069 are described by the Bloch-Grüneisen function with Debye temperature 400–480 K, and temperature dependences of the susceptibility include Pauli paramagnetism of conduction electrons. The behavior of conductivity and susceptibility of TiO_y with y≥1.087 is typical of semiconductors with nondegenerate charge carriers obeying Boltzmann statistics. The band gap ΔE between the valence and conduction bands of TiO_y(y≥1.087) is 0.06–0.17 eV, and effective mass of charge carriers is equal to 7–14 electron masses.

Darzens synthesis of 2,2-dichloro-3-(2-furyl)-3-hydroxypropionic acid derivatives

Esters and amides of 2,2-dichloro-3-(2-furyl)-3-hydroxypropionic acid were prepared by the reaction of furfural with dichloroacetic acid derivatives under the conditions of the Darzens condensation. Kinetics of the transesterification of para-nitrophenyl esters of phosphorus acids in water and aqueous hexamethylphosphorotriamide

The rate constants for the substitution of the para-nitrophenoxide ion by the phenoxide and hydroxide ions in phosphates and phosphonates are enhanced upon the addition of hexamethylphosphorotriamide (HMPTA) to water. The lack of alkaline hydrolysis of the esters in 90% aqueous HMPTA containing PhONa is a consequence of the formation of the PhOH... OH complex, which is nonreactive.A. E. Hybrid Systems Based on Surfactant-Stabilized Carbon Nano- and Microparticles

The influence of the nature of stabilizing amphiphilic additives on the dispersion and precipitation of carbon nanoparticles was evaluated. The stabilized systems were tested for adsorption properties with respect to spectral probes and drugs for which purpose the degree of removal and the amount adsorbed were determined spectrophotometrically for dye Orange OT and anti-inflammatory drug indomethacin.

The kinetics of alkaline hydrolysis of ethylp-nitrophenyl ethylphosphonate in the reverse micellar system sodium dodecyl sulfate—hexanol—water was studied.
