Aeolian Tones of a Honeycomb Lattice Cell

Aeroacoustic resonant oscillations (aeolian tones) are studied for flow past two plates forming a cross in a square cross section channel. Possible oscillation modes are classified on the basis of admissible symmetry groups and the existence of the modes is proved. The infinite linear system of equations for these modes obtained by the sewing method was simplified and studied numerically. Curves of eigenfrequency versus plate length are constructed. The form of the eigenfunctions is studied.     

Synthesis and fungicidal activity of S-amino derivatives of O-alkyldithiocarbonic acids

S-Amino derivatives of O-alkyldithiocarbonic acid were prepared by oxidative condensation of certain alkaloids with sodium xanthates. Some of the compounds synthesized exhibit fungicidal activity.     

Integral Newton-Type Polynomials with Continual Nodes

We construct an integral Newton-type interpolation polynomial with a continual set of nodes. This interpolant is unique and preserves an operator polynomial of the corresponding degree.     

A study of the mechanism and kinetics of interaction between nepheline powder and ammonium hydrofluoride

Behavior of a skeleton silicate, nepheline, in the reaction of fluorination with ammonium hydrofluoride was studied by means of differential-thermal, X-ray phase, and chemical analyses, IR spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy.     

The Poisson boundary of covering Markov operators

Covering Markov operators are a measure theoretical generalization of both random walks on groups and the Brownian motion on covering manifolds. In this general setup we obtain several results on ergodic properties of their Poisson boundaries, in particular, that the Poisson boundary is always infinite if the deck group is non-amenable, and that the deck group action on the Poisson boundary is amenable. For corecurrent operators we show that the Radon-Nikodym cocycles of two quotients of the Poisson boundary are cohomologous iff these quotients coincide. It implies that the Poisson boundary is either purely non-atomic or trivial, and that the action of any normal subgroup of the deck group on the Poisson boundary is conservative. We show that the Poisson boundary is trivial for any corecurrent covering operator with a nilpotent (or, more generally, hypercentral) deck group. Other applications and examples are discussed. Equivariant quantization on quotients of simple Lie groups by reductive subgroups of maximal rank

We consider a class of homogeneous manifolds including all semisimple coadjoint orbits. We describe manifolds of that class admitting deformation quantizations equivariant under the action ofG and the corresponding quantum group. We also classify Poisson brackets relating to such quantizations. Presented at the 11th Colloquium “Quantum Groups and Integrable Systems”, Prague, 20–22 June 2002.     

Fuel Oil Pyrolysis Initiated by Propane-Butane-Oxygen Flame

The parameters of fuel oil pyrolysis initiated by propane-butane-oxygen flame were studied as influenced by the temperature in the pyrolysis zone, time of the fuel oil contact with the initiating flame, and fuel oil feed rate. The experimental data on thermal and flame-initiated fuel oil pyrolysis were compared.
