Catalytic activity of palladium-containing zeolites in the complete oxidation of benzene

The dependence of palladium distribution in zeolites on the temperature of thermal treatment has been established from the data on oxygen chemisorption and the statistical processing of electron micrographs. The influence of palladium distribution in zeolites on their catalytic activity towards the complete oxidation of benzene has been shown.

Application of emanation and surface labelling methods in the study of thermal processes

The emanation method and the method of surface labelling have been applied to study thermal processes. Using these methods, processes which are not connected with thermal effects can be analysed. In certain cases, for example in the study of poorly crystalline, or amorphous phases, these methods are even more sensitive than thermographic and X-ray techniques. The method of surface labelling is advantageous in cases when it is impossible to activate the samples by the parent isotope of the gas during the process of their preparation. This work was performed during the author's study leave to Moscow State University, Department of Radiochemistry.     

IR spectra of selenophenopyrylium salts

On the basis of the IR spectra of 16 alkyl-substituted selenopheno[2,3-c]- and selenopheno-[3,2-c]pyrylium salts and a model calculation of the frequencies and the forms of their normal vibrations, an assignment of the frequencies of the skeletal vibrations of the heterocycles is put forward.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 11, pp. 1495–1497, November, 1973.     

Fluorosulfonyl-containing heterocyclic compounds

Hexafluoroisobutenylidene sulfate is a sulfotrioxidizing agent with respect to various olefins; methylenemethionic acid is formed in the case of ethylene, while the corresponding-sulfones are formed in the case of tetrafluoroethylene and vinylidene fluoride. 2,2-Difluoro-2-hydroxy-ethanesulfonic acid sultone is characterized by a capacity for anionotropic transformations; a number of sulfoacetic acid derivatives were obtained on the basis of this sultone.See [1] for communication III.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 2, pp. 178–182, February, 1973.
