The world is faced with intrinsic environmental issues. Among these issues, the minimization of greenhouse gas emission to acceptable levels presents a high priority. This study seeks to help to reduce the greenhouse effect in sustainable manner. A resorcinol–formaldehyde xerogel was synthesized at specific conditions and used to prepare an activated carbon xerogel (RF-ACX). RF-ACX exhibited micropores in range of 1.2–1.4 nm, a surface area of 496 m2/g and a cumulative pore volume of 0.81 cm3/g. Scanning electron microscopy showed that it is made of microspherical particles with an almost uniform particle size of 1.3 ± 0.2 μm. Equilibrium and kinetic studies for the adsorption of CO2, CH4 and N2 on RF-ACX were conducted at five temperatures (293, 303, 313, 323, and 333 K) and pressures of up to 1 MPa. The adsorption capacity on RF-ACX was highest for CO2, followed by CH4 and then N2. Isosteric heats of adsorption and adsorption rates were investigated. The measured adsorption equilibria were fitted with the extended multisite Langmuir adsorption model and further used to predict adsorption equilibria of their corresponding binary systems. 相似文献

In this work, a comprehensive analytical study is presented on two-layer one- dimensional photonic crystal in which the first layer is considered to be an analyte layer and the second layer is assumed be left-handed material (LHM), dielectric or metal. The dispersion relation is derived for p- polarized wave (TM). The sensitivity of the effective index to any change in the analyte index is derived, plotted and analyzed. Our optimization shows that it is possible for photonic crystal sensor to achieve a sensitivity improvement of 714% compared to conventional waveguide sensor. 相似文献

Objective: In this study, small molecules possessing tetrahydropyrimidine derivatives have been synthesized having halogenated benzyl derivatives and carboxylate linkage. As previously reported, FDA approved halogenated pyrimidine derivatives prompted us to synthesize novel compounds in order to evaluate their biological potential. Methodology: Eight pyrimidine derivatives have been synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate, secondary amine, aromatic benzaldehyde by adding catalytic amount of CuCl2·2H2O via solvent less Grindstone multicomponent reagent method. Molecular structure reactivity and virtual screening were performed to check their biological efficacy as an anti-oxidant, anti-cancer and anti-diabetic agent. These studies were supported by in vitro analysis and QSAR studies. Fermentation of (+)-androst-4-ene-3,17-dione (1) with Curvularia lunata for 10 days yielded five oxidative and reductive metabolites, androsta-1,4-diene-3,17-dione (2), 17beta-hydroxyandrosta-1,4-dien-3-one (3), 11alpha-hydroxyandrost-4-ene-3,17-dione (4), 11alpha,17beta-dihydroxyandrost-4-en-3-one (5) and 15alpha-hydroxyandrosta-1,4-dien-17-one (6).
