Homogeneous hydrogenations of unsaturated substrates with parahydrogen yield strong NMR signal enhancements of the transferred 1H nuclei if the symmetry of H2 is broken in the resulting hydrogenated products. This chemically induced hyperpolarization known as Parahydrogen-induced polarization (PHIP) is also transferred to other protons and heteronuclei (2H, 13C, 29Si, 31P) when the hydrogenation is initiated at low magnetic fields. Hydrogenating various fluorinated styrenes and phenylacetylenes, we show that PHIP-derived hyperpolarization is transferred to 19F not only in the Earth's magnetic field (ALTADENA condition) but also in a strong magnetic field, e.g., when carrying out the reaction in the NMR spectrometer (PASADENA condition). Upon conducting a systematic analysis of the observed PHIP transfer to 1H, 13C, and 19F in the hydrogenation products to elucidate the mechanisms that govern this parahydrogen-aided resonance transfer (PART), we conclude that high- and low-field PHIP transfer mechanisms differ in detail depending on either through-bond or through-space interactions. Substrates with high hydrogenation rates and long spin-lattice relaxation times (T1) yield the highest degree of heteronuclear hyperpolarization. Possible medical applications for hyperpolarized 19F-containing molecules as "active" contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are outlined. 相似文献

Electrocatalytic water splitting into H2 and O2 is a key technology for carbon‐neutral energy. Here, we report a modular materials design leading to noble metal‐free composite electrocatalysts, which combine high electrical conductivity, high OER and HER reactivity and high durability. The scalable bottom‐up fabrication allows the stable deposition of mixed metal oxide nanostructures with different functionalities on copper foam electrodes. The composite catalyst shows sustained OER and HER activity in 0.1 m aqueous KOH over prolonged periods (t>10 h) at low overpotentials (OER: ≈300 mV; HER: ≈100 mV) and high faradaic efficiencies (OER: ≈100 %, HER: ≈98 %). The new synthetic concept will enable the development of multifunctional, mixed metal oxide composites as high‐performance electrocatalysts for challenging energy conversion and storage reactions. 相似文献

A new synthesis of tetraazaperopyrenes (TAPPs) starting from a halogenated perylene derivative 3,4,9,10- tetrabromo-1,6,7,12-tetrachloroperylene ( 1 ) gave access to bay-substituted TAPPs for the first time. Selective lithiation of the bromine-positions and subsequent addition of tosyl azide led to the formation of the tetraazidotetrachloroperylene ( 2 ), which was subsequently reduced by addition of sodium borohydride to the corresponding tetraaminotetrachloroperylene ( 3 ). Oxidation to its semiquinoidal form 4 and subsequent cyclization with acid chlorides gave rise to a series of bay-chlorinated TAPPs. Whereas the aromatic core of the previously studied ortho-substituted TAPPs was found to be planar, the steric pressure of the two chlorine substituents on each side leads to the twist of the peropyrene core of approximately 30 degrees, a structural feature also observed in other bay-substituted perylene derivatives. An experimental and computational analysis reveals that introducing chloride substituents at these positions leads to slightly increased electron affinities (EA) enabling the selective generation and characterization of the reduced mono-anionic radicals and closed shell di-anionic species. These anions were isolated and characterized by UV/Vis spectroscopy and EPR or NMR, respectively. Processing of the bay-chlorinated TAPPs in n-channel organic TFTs revealed electron mobilities of 0.001 to 0.003 cm2 V−1 s−1. These reduced electron mobilities compared to the ortho-halogenated TAPPs are thought to be rooted in the less densely packed solid-state structures. 相似文献
