In an experiment at the CERN-SPS charged hyperon beam, we have investigated the inclusive \(\Lambda \bar K^0 \) and \(\Sigma ^0 \bar K^0 \) final states formed in Ξ? Be interactions. In the \(\Lambda \bar K^0 \) channel, we observe a signal at 1826 MeV/c2 which can be identified with the known Ξ(1820) resonance. We determine its mass and width to be:M=1826±4 MeV/c2, Г=12±14 MeV/c2. A moment analysis is consistent with a spin of 3/2 and indicates a negative parity for this spin assignment. Also in the \(\Lambda \bar K^0 \) channel, we observe a 3.6σ signal with the following parameters:M=1963±5 MeV/c2, Г=25±15 MeV/c2. This state, which we call Ξ(1960), is not observed in the \(\Sigma ^0 \bar K^0 \) channel, leading to an upper limit on the ratio of partial widths \(\Sigma \bar K/\Lambda \bar K\) of 2.3 (90% confidence level). A moment analysis of the \(\Lambda \bar K^0 \) final state indicates a spin of 5/2 or greater in the natural spin-parity series 5/2+, 7/2?, etc.  相似文献

Summary.  Reactions of cyanomethanesulfonamides with aromatic aldehydes in the presence of AcOH and piperidine produced the addition products, the 1-cyano-2-arylethenesulfonamides, whereas reactions with benzonitrile yielded the 2-amino-1-cyano-2-phenylethenesulfonamides only when done in THF with BuLi. No addition products were isolated from the analogue reactions with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde (salicylaldehyde). Instead, we obtained 2-imino-2H-chromene-3-sulfonamides with good to excellent yields. These 2H-chromene derivatives allowed a number of transformations, from which the reactions with orthoformates opened an approach to the hitherto unknown benzopyrano[3,2-e] [1,2,4]thiadiazine ring system.  相似文献

The interconvertible photoreactions of recombinant phytochrome from Synechocystis reconstituted with phycocyanobilin were investigated by light-induced optical and Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) difference spectroscopy at low temperatures for the first time. The photochemistry was found to be deferred below -100 degrees C for the transformation of red-absorbing form of phytochrome (Pr)-->far-red-absorbing form of phytochrome (Pfr), and no formation of an intermediate similar to the photoproduct of phytochrome A obtained at -140 degrees C (lumi-R) was observed. Two intermediates could be stabilized below -40 degrees C and between -40 and -20 degrees C, and were denoted as meta-Ra and meta-Rc, respectively. Above -20 degrees C Pfr was obtained. In the reverse reaction two intermediates could be stabilized below -60 degrees C (lumi-F) and between -60 and -40 degrees C (meta-F). The FT-IR difference spectra of the late Pr-->Pfr photoreaction show great similarities to the spectra obtained from oat phytochrome A suggesting similar conformation of the chromophore and interactions with its protein environment, whereas deviations in the spectra of meta-Ra were observed. A large band around 1700 cm-1 in the difference spectra between the intermediates and Pr which is tentatively assigned to the C19=O group of the prosthetic group indicates the Z,E isomerization around the C15=C16-methine bridge of the chromophore during the formation of meta-Ra. In the difference spectra of the parent states only small differences are observed in this region suggesting that the frequency of the carbonyl group is similar in Pr and Pfr. Since the FT-IR difference spectra between lumi-F and Pfr show great similarities to the spectra of the parent states, it is assumed that during the formation of lumi-F the chromophore largely returns into the primary Pr conformation. The FT-IR spectra recorded in a medium of 2H2O generally show a downshift of the significant bands due to the isotope effect. The appearance of a characteristic band around 935 cm-1 in all 2H2O spectra suggests an assignment to an N-2H bending vibration of the chromophore.  相似文献

Two different methods for the quantification of human tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2 (TIMP-2) were developed using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and gold nanoparticles for signal enhancement. The first method, a competitive assay, used TIMP-2 immobilized to the sensor surface and the inactive form of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (proMMP-2) (EC 3.4.24.24) adsorbed to gold nanoparticles. The sensor signals resulting from the interaction of MMP-2-gold nanoparticles with immobilized TIMP-2 were inversely proportional to the amounts of TIMP-2 of the sample. The measuring range for TIMP-2 was about 15–180 pM. The second method, a one-step sandwich assay, used proMMP-2 immobilized to the sensor surface and an anti-TIMP-2 monoclonal antibody coupled to gold nanoparticles. The lower detection limit of this assay format was 0.5 pM of TIMP-2. The binding signals were highly reproducible up to 100 pM of the inhibitor. The improvements obtained in TIMP-2 quantification over already existing tests could contribute to a better understanding and diagnosis of diseases like cancer.  相似文献

Bis(2-N,N-dimethylamino-indenyl) zirconium dichloride, (2-(CH3)2N-C9H6)2ZrCl2, and dimethylsilyl-bridged bis(2-N,N-dimethylamino-indenyl) zirconium dichloride, (CH3)2Si(2-(CH3)2N-C9H5)2ZrCl2, were prepared by reaction of the corresponding ligand lithium salts with ZrCl4 in toluene. Diffractometric structure determinations reveal C2-symmetric complex geometries for both complexes. An increased electron density at the Zr center of the dimethylamino-substituted complexes is indicated by reduction potentials which are 0.3–0.4 V more negative than those of their unsubstituted analogs. When activated with methyl aluminoxane in toluene solution, (CH3)2Si(2-(CH3)2N-C9H5)2ZrCl2 catalyzes the polymerization of propene to polymers with a microstructure comparable with that of polymers produced with other Me2Si-bridged bis(indenyl)ZrCl2 complexes, but with a substantially increased fraction of i-propyl end groups derived from alkyl exchange between Zr-polymer and Al---Me species.  相似文献

Summary The selectivity of a new magnesium ionophore (ETH 7025) induced in membranes of different compositions is experimentally studied in view of the ion activities in human serum. The required selectivity coefficient against calcium for the application of an ion-selective magnesium electrode to human serum is calculated for the worst case. Other critical parameters for the application of a liquid PVC-based ion-selective membrane to undiluted human serum discussed are: the sensor lifetime which is related to the lipophilicity of the carrier as well as the ruggedness of the membrane against interactions with components of the relatively lipophilic sample.  相似文献

Two methods have been developed for the determination of trace levels of acetonitrile and propionitrile in light naphthas. One involves clean-up and preconcentration by medium pressure liquid chromatography (MPLC) in which nitriles are concentrated ten-fold while the complex hydrocarbon matris is removed. The concentrated solution is then analyzed by high resolution GC with flame ionization detection. The second method involves direct injection of samples into a capillary GC equipped with chemiluminescence nitrogen detection. The results and repeatability obtained from both methods are comparable. Preconcentration enables identification by GC-MS and simultaneous analysis of other polar species, with no need for selective detectors. Direct analysis is, on the other hand, much less time-consuming and requires less sample.  相似文献

The branched pentasaccharide chain of ganglioside GM1 is a prominent cell surface ligand, for example, for cholera toxin or tumor growth-regulatory homodimeric galectins. This activity profile via protein recognition prompted us to examine the binding properties of peptides with this specificity. Our study provides insights into the mechanism of molecular interaction of this thus far unexplored size limit of the protein part. We used three pentadecapeptides in a combined approach of mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy and molecular modelling to analyze the ligand binding in solution. Availability of charged and hydrophobic functionalities affected the intramolecular flexibility of the peptides differently. Backfolding led to restrictions in two cases; the flexibility was not reduced significantly by association of the ligand in its energetically privileged conformations. Major contributions to the interaction energy arise from the sialic acid moiety contacting Arg/Lys residues and the N-terminal charge. Considerable involvement of stacking between the monovalent ligand and aromatic rings could not be detected. This carbohydrate binding strategy is similar to how an adenoviral fiber knob targets sialylated glycans. Rational manipulation for an affinity enhancement can now be directed to reduce the flexibility, exploit the potential for stacking and acquire the cross-linking capacity of the natural lectins by peptide attachment to a suitable scaffold.  相似文献

One of the limiting factors restricting the effective and efficient bioconversion of softwood-derived lignocellulosic residues is the recalcitrance of the substrate following pretreatment. Consequently, the ensuing enzymatic process requires relatively high enzyme loadings to produce monomeric carbohydrates that are readily fermentable by ethanologenic microorganisms. In an attempt to circumvent the need for larger enzyme loadings, a simultaneous physical and enzymatic hydrolysis treatment was evaluated. A ball-mill reactor was used as the digestion vessel, and the extent and rate of hydrolysis were monitored. Concurrently, enzyme adsorption profiles and the rate of conversion during the course of hydrolysis were monitored. α-Cellulose, employed as a model substrate, and SO2-impregnated steam-exploded Douglas-fir wood chips were assessed as the cellulosic substrates. The softwood-derived substrate was further posttreated with water and hot alkaline hydrogen peroxide to remove >90% of the original lignin. Experiments at different reaction conditions were evaluated, including substrate concentration, enzyme loading, reaction volumes, and number of ball beads employed during mechanical milling. It was apparent that the best conditions for the enzymatic hydrolysis of α-cellulose were attained using a higher number of beads, while the presence of air-liquid interface did not seem to affect the rate of saccharification. Similarly, when employing the lignocellulosic substrate, up to 100% hydrolysis could be achieved with a minimum enzyme loading (10 filter paper units/g of cellulose), at lower substrate concentrations and with a greater number of reaction beads during milling. It was apparent that the combined strategy of simultaneous ball milling and enzymatic hydrolysis could improve the rate of saccharification and/or reduce the enzyme loading required to attain total hydrolysis of the carbohydrate moieties.  相似文献

4-(N,N-dioctylamino)-4-trifluoroacetyl-azobenzene (ETHT 4001), together with the catalyst tridodecylmethylammonium chloride, is dissolved in the hydrophilic polymer polyurethane Tecoflex. The resulting membrane layers show high sensitivity toward water vapour and allow the application of the membranes for humidity measurements. Upon exposure to humid air, the membrane exhibits a decrease in absorbance at a wavelength around 490 nm and an increase at around 430 nm. This signal change is caused by the conversion of the trifluoroacetyl group of the reactand into a diol, thus changing the electron delocalisation of the reactand. The sensor layer exhibits a dynamic range from 1% to 100% RH with highest sensitivity in the 5%–40% RH range. The limit of detection is 0.5% RH. The amount of added catalyst enables the sensitive range to be tailored. The selectivity over ethanol and carbonate is sufficient for the membrane to be used for long-term measurements of air. The change in colour of the humidity-sensitive membrane from red to yellow also means it can be used as an optical test strip.  相似文献
