Study of propagation of a spherically converging shock wave has been carried out by Whitham’s method. The variation of shock
velocity and pressure along the radius of curvature has been calculated numerically for a number of metals. Attempt has also
been made to compare the experimental results of velocity of detonation wave with those reported elsewhere by the application

We investigate the effect of cetyl-trimethyl-ammonium-bromides (CTAB) concentration on the fluorescence of Rhodamine-6G in water. This spectroscopic study of Rhodamine-6G in presence of CTAB was performed using two-photon-induced-fluorescence at 780 nm wavelength using high repetition rate femtosecond laser pulses. We report an increment of ~10 % in the fluorescence in accordance with ~12 % enhancement in the absorption intensity of the dye molecule around the critical micellar concentration. We discuss the possible mechanism for the enhancement in the two-photon fluorescence intensity and the importance of critical micellar concentration. 相似文献

Bianchi type V perfect fluid cosmological models are investigated with cosmological term varying with time. Using a generation technique (Camci et al., 2001), it is shown that Einsteins field equations are solvable for any arbitrary cosmic scale function. Solutions for particular forms of cosmic scale functions are also obtained. The cosmological constant is found to be a decreasing function of time, which is supported by results from recent type Ia supernovae observations. PANI/PMMA composite was synthesized by emulsion polymerization pathway and the composite thin film was obtained by vacuum evaporation. The effect of vapour chopping and varying PMMA concentration was also studied. The FTIR spectra showed that the PANI/PMMA composite thin film deposited as a short chain oligomers. Increase in transmittance and decrease in refractive index was obtained with increasing concentration of PMMA, which further increased the adhesion and decreased intrinsic stress. The vapour chopping improved its optical as well as mechanical properties and produced smoother surface morphology. Increase of PMMA made the film more amorphous and does not change its band gap. 相似文献

Lead-free polycrystalline ceramic 0.55Ba(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3–0.45(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 (0.55BZT–0.45BCT) was synthesized by sol–gel method and the dielectric, impedance and optical properties of this ceramic were studied. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the formation of pure perovskite phase with the coexistence of tetragonal and rhombohedral structures. The high value of dielectric constant (~6,985) with low dielectric loss (~0.013) was obtained at room temperature. Bulk and grain boundary resistances were measured by impedance analysis, which revealed negative temperature coefficient of resistance behaviour in this ceramic. The estimated value of optical band gap was found to be ~3.16 eV, which is related to the presence of intermediate energy levels. Two emission bands one at ~365 nm (UV region) and another at ~465 nm (blue region) were observed in photoluminescence spectrum at room temperature. 相似文献

In this paper we have explained some efficient methods to correct artefacts in confocal laser beam scanning microscope (CLSM) images. The main aim is to enhance object features such that they become clearly visible for interactive evaluation and to reduce the overall noise so that the automatic segmentation and feature measurement can be done easily. A simple automatic-thresholding technique, and a straightforward method to restore the light intensity along the depth of the image stack are proposed. Another problem associated with the CLSM is the non-isotropic resolution. We have presented an interpolation technique based on XOR contouring and morphing to virtually insert the image slices in the image stack for improving the axial resolution. This interpolation technique has the merits of both contour- and intensity-based interpolations. Results of application of these methods on CLSM data are shown. 相似文献

Plane symmetric viscous fluid cosmological models of the universe with a variable cosmological term are investigated. The
viscosity coefficient of bulk viscous fluid is assumed to be a power function of mass density whereas the coefficient of shear
viscosity is to be proportional to rate of expansion in the model. We have also obtained a special model in which the shear
viscosity is assumed to be zero. The cosmological constant Λ is found to be a decreasing function of time and a positive which is supported by results from recent supernovae Ia observations.

We present molecular dynamics simulations of a realistic model of an ultrathin film of BaTiO3 sandwiched between short-circuited electrodes to determine and understand effects of film thickness, epitaxial strain, and the nature of electrodes on its ferroelectric phase transitions as a function of temperature. We determine a full epitaxial strain-temperature phase diagram in the presence of perfect electrodes. Even with the vanishing depolarization field, we find that ferroelectric phase transitions to states with in-plane and out-of-plane components of polarization exhibit dependence on thickness; it arises from the interactions of local dipoles with their electrostatic images in the presence of electrodes. Secondly, in the presence of relatively bad metal electrodes which only partly compensate the surface charges and depolarization field, a qualitatively different phase with stripelike domains is stabilized at low temperature. 相似文献

Dielectric measurements have been carried out for the determination of real and imaginary parts of the permittivity of a newly synthesized, unusually shaped liquid crystal. The sample has been investigated in the frequency range from 100 Hz to 10 MHz within a temperature range 80-130 °C. The dielectric measurements in the smectic A phase indicate a Cole-Cole type of dispersion, and the activation energy was found to be 5.5 meV by using the Arrhenius plot of relaxation time. In addition to this, thermal and optical transmittance studies have also been conducted in the above mentioned temperature range, and the temperature dependence of these parameters has been discussed in detail. The phase transition temperature obtained from a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) study matches within 2 °C that was obtained from an optical transmittance study. The dielectric and optical behavior of the unusually shaped liquid crystal has been explained on the basis of a proposed theoretical model in which a sample possesses two different conformers having induced polarizations in opposite directions. 相似文献
