Lead hydride was generated from acid solution, containing potassium ferricyanide as an oxidizing agent, by the reaction with alkaline borohydride solution. The effects of reaction conditions (hydrochloric acid, ferricyanide and borohydride concentrations), and the lengths of reaction and stripping coils were studied. The effects of trapping temperature and argon flow rate were also investigated. Under the conditions giving the best peak area sensitivity, the detection limit (concentration giving a signal equal to three S.D. of the blank signal) was 0.12 mug l(-1) for a 1000 mul injection volume. The detection limit was improved to 0.03 mug l(-1) when the ferricyanide was purified by passage through a cation-exchange resin. Two calcium supplement materials were analyzed by the flow injection (FI)-hydride generation (HG)-electrothermal atomization atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) method, giving values of 0.55 and 0.66 mug g(-1), in agreement with results obtained by previously validated methods. For a 500-mg sample the limits of detection and quantification were 0.006 and 0.02 mug g(-1), respectively.  相似文献

Increasing speciation demands in clinical chemistry, toxicology and nutrition have made the determination of the total elements in a sample inadequate; the amount of an element and the chemical forms in which it is present need to be known. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was used after high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) separation, as was electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). The effect of variation of the number of carbon atoms in perfluorinated carboxylic acids used as ion-pairing agents for the separation of selenium compounds was examined. Trifluoroacetic acid (0.1%), pentafluoropropanoic acid (0.1%) or heptafluorobutanoic acid (0.1%; HFBA) were alternatively used as additives to methanol-water (1:99, v/v) solutions as mobile phases. Reversed-phase HPLC-ICP-MS with 0.1% HFBA in the mobile phase allowed more than 20 selenium compounds to be separated in 70 min in an isocratic elution mode; the separation of natural selenium-enriched sample extracts was examined and explained. The pH of the 0.1% HFBA solution was modified with hydrochloric acid or ammonia and the pH of the sample extracts before injection was modified in order to overcome unwanted double peak formation in the chromatograms of sample extracts. Oxidations of standard gamma-glutamyl-Se-methylselenocysteine and Se-methylselenocysteine were carried out using 30% H2O2 solution and identifications of selenium-containing oxidation products were made using HPLC-ICP-MS and HPLC-ESI-MS. The principal organic oxidation product in both cases was methaneseleninic acid (MeSeO2H).  相似文献

Abstract

The low resolution mass spectra of alkyl and aryl sulfinamides containing alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl and cyclic amine functions were recorded and the major fragmentation modes were elucidated with the aid of metastable peaks. New mixed‐valence cobalt complexes with ligands derived from pyridoxal were synthesized and characterized, and their application as mimetics of the peroxidase enzyme was investigated. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction was used to analyze all complex structures in the solid state and their electrochemical behavior was investigated. A reactivity pattern was observed in the complex synthesis regarding the cobalt compounds from which analogous zwitterionic derivatives were obtained. The importance of these compounds lies in understanding their behavior in an oxidizing environment and evaluating whether they can activate hydrogen peroxide to oxidize phenolic compounds. In nature, enzymes called peroxidases, which efficiently oxidize phenolic compounds, trigger many reactions involving the activation of hydrogen peroxide to oxidize organic substrates. However, these enzymes present several disadvantages, including denaturation and elevated costs. Therefore, these limitations can be overcome by expanding research into the study of synthetic catalysts for the oxidation of phenolic compounds using hydrogen peroxide, which is a highly relevant field of bioinorganic chemistry.  相似文献

A poly[benzodithiophene‐alt‐di‐2‐thienyl‐quinoxaline] series (PBDTDPQ‐EH, PBDTDPQ‐OD, and PBDTDPQ‐HDT) was synthesized via Stille coupling. Deep highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) levels were achieved by the introduction of 2‐decyl‐4‐hexyl‐thiophen‐yl (HDT) side chains. The introduction of the various side chains increased the molecular weight of the polymers, and the polymers dissolved well in common organic solvents at room temperature. The HOMO energy level (?5.20 to ?5.49 eV) decreased because of the 2D conjugated structure. X‐ray diffraction analysis showed that PBDTDPQ‐OD had a slightly edge‐on structure. In the case of PBDTDPQ‐HDT, however, the structure was amorphous due to the thiophene side chain, and the extent of π stacking increased. After fabricating bulk‐heterojunction‐type polymer solar cells, the OPV characteristics were evaluated. The values of open‐circuit voltage (Voc), short‐circuit current (Jsc), fill factor, and power conversion efficiency (PCE) were 0.88 V, 7.9 mA cm?2, 45.4%, and 3.2%, respectively. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We solve Gromov's dimension comparison problem for Hausdorff and box counting dimension on Carnot groups equipped with a Carnot-Carathéodory metric and an adapted Euclidean metric. The proofs use sharp covering theorems relating optimal mutual coverings of Euclidean and Carnot-Carathéodory balls, and elements of sub-Riemannian fractal geometry associated to horizontal self-similar iterated function systems on Carnot groups. Inspired by Falconer's work on almost sure dimensions of Euclidean self-affine fractals we show that Carnot-Carathéodory self-similar fractals are almost surely horizontal. As a consequence we obtain explicit dimension formulae for invariant sets of Euclidean iterated function systems of polynomial type. Jet space Carnot groups provide a rich source of examples.  相似文献
