Determination of alpha-tocopherol in the Traditional Chinese Medicinal preparation Sea buckthorn oil capsule by non-aqueous reversed phase-HPLC

A non-aqueous reversed phase HPLC was developed for determining alpha-tocopherol in Sea buckthorn oil capsule without the need for saponification. A reversed phase column (Alltima C(18), 4.6 x 250 mm, 5 microm) was used with a mobile phase of methanol-acetonitrile (95 : 5, v/v) and flow rate of 1 ml/min. The contents in capsule were extracted with n-hexane. Detection wavelength was set at 292 nm. Each analysis requires no longer than 20 min. The linearity range for alpha-tocopherol was 9.4-47.0 microg/ml. The detection limit was 0.94 microg/ml. The mean recovery was 95.82 (RSD 2.3%). This method is suitable for quantitative analysis of alpha-tocopherol in Sea buckthorn oil or its Traditional Chinese Medicinal preparation.

Structural basis for discriminative regulation of gene expression by adenine- and guanine-sensing mRNAs

Metabolite-sensing mRNAs, or "riboswitches," specifically interact with small ligands and direct expression of the genes involved in their metabolism. Riboswitches contain sensing "aptamer" modules, capable of ligand-induced structural changes, and downstream regions, harboring expression-controlling elements. We report the crystal structures of the add A-riboswitch and xpt G-riboswitch aptamer modules that distinguish between bound adenine and guanine with exquisite specificity and modulate expression of two different sets of genes. The riboswitches form tuning fork-like architectures, in which the prongs are held in parallel through hairpin loop interactions, and the internal bubble zippers up to form the purine binding pocket. The bound purines are held by hydrogen bonding interactions involving conserved nucleotides along their entire periphery. Recognition specificity is associated with Watson-Crick pairing of the encapsulated adenine and guanine ligands with uridine and cytosine, respectively.     

Spectrophotometric determination of molybdenum based on charge transfer complex in PVA medium

A very simple, selective and sensitive method was developed for the spectrophotometric determination of Mo in the presence of W. The method was based on the formation of color charge transfer complex, molybdotungstophosphate-3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbezidine anion, which was solubilized and stabilized in PVA medium. Following the recommended procedure, molybdenum could be determined in the linear range of 0.04-2.5 mug ml(-1) and the molar absorptivity was 1.47x10(4) l mol(-1) cm(-1) at 660 nm. The proposed method had been applied to the determination of trace molybdenum in tungsten ore with satisfactory results.     

肝素化壳聚糖季铵盐／壳聚糖复合膜抗凝血性能的研究

以壳聚糖季铵盐，壳聚糖为基本原材料，选用戊二醛为交剂剂及固定剂，制备一种物理机械性能较优的抗凝血材料。探讨了戊二醛及肝素钠两者用量对肝素化程度及血液生的影响。     

Microwave‐assisted synthesis of phenylenedi(4′,4“‐tetrahydroquinoline) and di(4′,4”‐tetrahydropyridine) derivatives

The synthesis of bifunctional pyridine and quinolione derivatives were investigated using terephthalic and isophthalic aldehydes as a precursor. The reaction proceeds under microwave irradiation with good yield (70–92%) and short reaction time (7–9 min.). We provide a rapid and efficient method of synthesizing a range of bifunctional monocyclic and bicyclic products related to 1,4‐dihydropyridines (1,4‐DHPs).

Laser Raman spectrometry with a fibre-optic system is used to monitor the concentrations of ethanol, glucose and fructose at various stages of an alcoholic fermentation process. For evaluation of the data, cross-correlation and multivariate least-squares procedures are compared; the latter gives the best results. Ethanol, glucose and fructose can be determined remotely with a precision of ca. 10 g l^?1 (10–15%).     

BaB2O4—CdO和BaB2O4—ZnO二元系相图的研究

本文用差热分析和X射线衍射方法测定了BaB_2O_4-CdO和BaB_2O_4-ZnO二元系相图。在BaB_2O_4-CdO体系中存在着一新化合物BaCdB_2O_5,在785±3℃同成份熔化。在BaB_2O_4-ZnO体系中,由包晶反应形成一新化合物BaZn_3B_2O_7,反应温度为903±3℃。在富BaB_2O_4区形成一个宽的低温相BaB_2O_4固溶区。研究结果表明,用Zn~(2 )替代BaB_2O_4中Ba~(2 )形成固溶体,不能将高温相BaB_2O_4稳定到室温,证实了“经验函数关系式”的预测结果。

Phosphoric acid at levels above 10^-3 M depresses the S₂ emission from sulphate, but concentrations up to 0.1 M may be necessary to eliminate cationic interferences.     

过敏性哮喘患者血清中10种必需微量元素水平的研究

３４例过敏性哮喘患者血清中铁，锌、铜，锰硒铬，钴镍，钡，钼的含量水平与对照组比较，揭示：（１）铁，铜，铬的含量升高；（２）硒，镍，钴、钒的钼的含量降低；（３）锌和锰的含量差异无显著性，Ｐ〉０．０５。
