A fast and accurate analytical method was established for the simultaneous direct determination of aluminum, calcium and iron in silicon carbide and silicon nitride powders by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry using a slurry sampling technique and a Hitachi Model Z-9000 atomic absorption spectrometer. The slurry samples were prepared by the ultrasonication of silicon carbide or silicon nitride powders with 0.1 M nitric acid. Calibration curves were prepared by using a mixed standard solution containing aluminum, calcium, iron and 0.1 M nitric acid. The analytical results of the proposed method for aluminum, calcium and iron in silicon carbide and silicon nitride reference materials were in good agreement with the reference values. The detection limits for aluminum, calcium and iron were 0.6 microg/g, 0.15 microg/g and 2.5 microg/g, respectively, in solid samples, when 200 mg of powdered samples were suspended in 20 ml of 0.1 M nitric acid and a 10 microl portion of the slurry sample was then measured. The performance test of a shell-and-plate type evaporator (total surface area 21.95 m2, length 1450 mm, width 235 mm, 100 plates) for ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) plants is reported. Freon 22 (R22) and ammonia (NH3) were used as the working fluid. Empirical correlations are proposed for predicting the boiling heat transfer and the heat transfer coefficients on the water side. The water-side pressure drop is about 2.9 × 104 N/m2 when the warm water velocity is 0.7 m/s. The water-side friction factor is obtained. 相似文献

Images of the rat head reflecting glucose utilization were obtained using 2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-FDG) and 19F nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging. Spatial heterogeneity of glucose utilization in the rat head was clearly demonstrated showing significantly higher glucose utilization in the brain as compared to the surrounding tissues. Although the potential adverse effects of the high doses of 2-FDG (400 mg/kg) needed to perform the study preclude immediate application of this technique to clinical quantitative glucose utilization studies, the present study shows potential for future development of glucose utilization imaging by NMR. 相似文献

The present paper examines the sequential location—allocation problems of public facilities in one- and two-dimensional space under several policies. It is shown that the efficiency loss due to the adoption of a myopic policy is not so large, contrary to common belief, provided that the efficiency can be measured by the total transportation cost of users and by the total capacity of facilities. If the total serving area is sufficiently narrow, then the spatial allocations of optimal solutions in two-dimensional problems can be closely approximated by those in one-dimensional problems. 相似文献

Two homologous gene clusters for the biosynthesis of sesterterpenes betaestacins were identified from two phytopathogens, Phoma betae and Colletotrichum orbiculare. Heterologous expression of identified oxidation enzymes with previously-characterized PbTS1 (BtcAPb) resulted in the production of seven novel sesterterpenes. Although both strains possessed homologous enzymes, oxidation state of corresponding products were different from each other, suggesting that structural diversification of sesterterpene skeletons might be achieved by these homologous enzymes with different functions. 相似文献

The enantioselective total synthesis of (+)‐gracilamine ( 1 ) is described. The strategy features a diastereoselective phenolic coupling reaction followed by a regioselective intramolecular aza‐Michael reaction to construct the ABCE ring system. The configuration at C3a in 1 was controlled by the stereocenter at C9a, which was selectively generated (91 % ee) by an organocatalytic enantioselective aza‐Friedel–Crafts reaction developed by our research group. Racemic α-monosubstituted cyclopentanones were converted to optically active forms by a thermodynamically controlled deracemization using TADDOL-type host molecule 1 in alkaline aqueous MeOH. The efficiency of this conversion was strongly influenced by the ratio of the solvent components (H2O/MeOH) and the functionality and architecture of the α-side-chain on the cyclopentanones. For example, (R)-2-(2-benzyloxyethyl)cyclopentanone (9) was obtained in 89% yield with 97% ee using a 7:3 mixture of H2O/MeOH as the solvent. X-ray analytical studies were also carried out and disclosed the nature of this chiral molecular recognition process in the solid phase. 相似文献

alpha-Ester-substituted 1,3-dienylphosphonates 7 and 8, prepared by the Knoevenagel condensation, underwent intramolecular [2 + 2] cycloaddition in the presence of Lewis acid to form bicyclo[4.2.0] (26-57% yield) and bicyclo[3.2.0]skeleton (14-38% yield), respectively. Similar treatment of homologous 1,3-dienylphosphonate 11 and 1,3,5-trienylphosphonate 12 resulted in the formation of ionone derivatives (30-94% yield).
