In this paper, we consider various ways of crystal growth of the polymer [Cu(µ ‐C2O4)(4‐aminopyridine)2(H2O)]n. Single crystals of the size of 1.5×1.5×0.2 mm3 have been grown by a slow diffusion technique from solutions of the monoammine copper complex and of the mixture of potassium oxalate and aminopyridine with the stoichiometric ratio. Magnetic susceptibility and ESR measurements have been performed on single crystals large enough for investigating anisotropic properties. The susceptibility can be well described within the model of a Heisenberg antiferromagnetic spin chain. Tilted field magnetotransport study was performed in a two-valley strained Si quantum well and hysteretic diagonal resistance spikes were observed near the coincidence angles. The spike around filling factor ν=3 develops into a giant feature when it moves to the high-field edge of the quantum Hall (QH) state and quenches for higher tilt angles. When the spike is most prominent, its peak resistance is temperature independent from T20 mK up to 0.3 K, which is different from the critical behavior previously reported near the Curie temperature of the QH ferromagnet in AlAs quantum wells. Our data suggest a strong interplay between spins and valleys near the coincidence.  相似文献

We report here a systematic study of the energy gaps at the odd-integer quantum Hall states nu = 3 and 5 under tilted magnetic (B) fields in a high quality Si two-dimensional electron system. Out of the coincidence region, the valley splitting is independent of the in-plane fields. However, the nu = 3 valley gap differs by about a factor of 3 (Deltav approximately 0.4 vs 1.2 K) on different sides of the coincidence. More surprisingly, instead of reducing to zero, the energy gaps at nu = 3 and 5 rise rapidly when approaching the coincidence angles. We believe that such an anomaly is related to strong couplings of the nearly degenerate Landau levels.  相似文献

Exploring a two-dimensional hole system in the large r(s) regime we found a surprisingly rich phase diagram. At the highest densities, beside the nu =1/3, 2/3, and 2/5 fractional quantum Hall states, we observe both of the previously reported high field insulating and reentrant insulating phases. As the density is lowered, the reentrant insulating phase initially strengthens, then it unexpectedly starts weakening until it completely disappears. The intricate behavior of the insulating phases can be explained by a nonmonotonic melting line in the nu-r(s) phase space.  相似文献

This paper proposes a novel technique for automatic ultrasound non-destructive foreign body (FB) detection and classification. A signal registration process is introduced to eliminate shift variations commonly encountered in ultrasound signals. Information theory based methods are then developed for wavelet basis selection and feature extraction to facilitate robust FB classification. Probabilistic neural networks are used for FB classification. Experimental results confirm that the wavelet basis selected by the proposed method improves the FB classification accuracy. It is concluded that low order wavelet bases have better ability to distinguish classes with great similarities than their higher order counterparts, while the reverse is true for more divergent classes.  相似文献

Lifetimes of high spin states up to { }=22+ in the yrast positive parity bands have been measured to investigate the shape evolution with increasing spin in 72, 74Se. The Q t values derived from these measurements indicate that prolate shape stabilizes for 72Se, while a triaxial shape develops for 74Se at higher spins. Comparison of the observed trend in Q t with spin for 72, 74Se with that of the corresponding kryptones isotones emphasizes the stability provided by N=38 prolate shell gap even at high rotational frequency.  相似文献

An abrupt change in energy transport has been observed in femtosecond laser heated gold when the absorbed laser flux exceeds ~7×10(12) W/cm(2). Below this value, the absorbed flux is carried by ballistic motion of nonthermal electrons produced in interband excitation. Above this value energy transport appears to include ballistic transport by nonthermal electrons and heat diffusion by thermalized hot electrons. The ballistic component is limited to a flux of ~7×10(12) W/cm(2). This offers a unique benchmark for comparison with theory on nonequilibrium electron transport.  相似文献
