The time course of Mg uptake and release using intact rice plants and 28Mg as a tracer is presented. Since there is no conventional Mg tracer available, 28Mg was produced via 27Al(α, 3p)28Mg reaction using a cyclotron. Using the purified 28Mg tracer, it was found that the uptake amount of 28Mg by the rice plants increased linearly during 30 min of application. After 28Mg treatment for 90 min, the roots were sequentially washed with iced solution for 120 min. Within about 10 min, almost all of the 28Mg, that was thought to be weakly bound to the apoplast, was washed away. 相似文献

Spontaneous ignition of compacted mixture has been examined not only experimentally but also theoretically, relevant to materials synthesis for Ni–Al system. Spontaneous ignition temperature, determined from the inflection-point of the temporal variation of surface temperature, is found to decrease at first, reach the minimum, and then increase gradually, with increasing size ratio, being defined as the ratio of compact and particle diameters and reported to be useful in correlating experimental results. The lowest temperature observed is as low as that, more than 200 K below the melting point 934 K of Al, at the size ratio of c.a. 700. While its decrease is attributed to the increase in the particle surface per unit spatial volume of compacted mixture, as reported in the literature, its increase found in the course of the present study can fairly be correlated to an enhancement of heat loss from each particle in the compacted mixture, by conducting a theoretical consideration. As for the dependence of spontaneous ignition temperature on the mixture ratio, a shifting occurs from a decreasing trend with increasing mixture ratio at small size ratios, less than about 700, to an insensitive trend to the mixture ratio, had not been reported in the literature. In addition, a fair degree of agreement, shown in experimental comparisons with theoretical results, indicates that the present formulation has captured the essential features of the spontaneous ignition of compacted mixture, especially for size ratios with large values. Since this kind of particle size effects, relevant to the spontaneous ignition of the compacted mixtures, has not been captured in the previous studies, its elucidation can be considered not only notable but also useful, in manipulating combustion process in materials synthesis, especially, in choosing a specific condition for the lowest spontaneous ignition temperature by varying the size ratio. 相似文献

A continuous investigation of secondary metabolites produced by the sponge-derived fungus, Gymnascella dankaliensis, has yielded a new polyketide tyrosine derivative, dankastatin C (3) and the known steroid, demethylincisterol A3 (4), which was originally found from a Homaxinella marine sponge. The stereostructure of the new compound has been determined based on the analysis of 1D and 2D NMR data. Methylene sp3 carbon–hydrogen bond activation of N-picolinoylcycloalkylamines provides a useful method for synthesizing cis-3-arylated cycloalkylamine derivatives. Pd(II) species catalyzed the γ-arylation of N-picolinoylcycloalkylamines with aryl iodides in the presence of silver carbonate to afford cis-3-arylated N-picolinoylalkylamines in up to 87% yield. Recent developments regarding charged multiblock copolymers that can form physical networks and exhibit robust mechanical properties herald new and exciting opportunities for contemporary technologies requiring amphiphilic attributes. Due to the presence of strong interactions, however, control over the phase behavior of such materials remains challenging, especially since their morphologies can be solvent‐templated. In this study, transmission electron microscopy and microtomography are employed to examine the morphological characteristics of midblock‐sulfonated pentablock ionomers prepared from solvents differing in polarity. Resultant images confirm that discrete, spherical ion‐rich microdomains form in films cast from a relatively nonpolar solvent, whereas an apparently mixed morphology with a continuous ion‐rich pathway is generated when the casting solvent is more highly polar. Detailed 3D analysis of the morphological characteristics confirms the coexistence of hexagonally‐packed nonpolar cylinders and lamellae, which facilitates the diffusion of ions and/or other polar species through the nanostructured medium.

Six months after the explosion of TEPCO’s Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant, radioactive
silver (110mAg), was detected in concentrations of 3754 Bq/kg in Nephila
clavata (the orb-web spider; Joro-gumo in Japanese) collected at
Nimaibashi, Iitate village in Fukushima Prefecture, whereas 110mAg in the soil was
43.1 Bq/kg. A survey of 35 faunal species in the terrestrial environment during the 3.5 years
after the accident showed that most of Anthropoda had two orders higher 110mAg in
their tissues than soils, although silver is not an essential element for their life. However,
tracing of the activity of 110mAg detected in spider Atypus karschi
collected regularly at a fixed location showed that it declined much faster than the physical
half-life. These results suggest that 110mAg was at once biologically concentrated
by faunal species, especially Arthropoda, through food chain. The factors affecting the
subsequent rapid decline of 110mAg concentration in faunal species are
