Hydroxymaleimide was irradiated in N2-saturated 2-propanol solutions by high-energy heavy ions over a wide range of LET values. The differential G-values of the degradation of hydroxymaleimide by irradiation with the heavier ions were lower than those of the lighter ions for the same LET value. An opposite result obtained in the air-saturated system. The degradation efficiency was 1.5 times higher, when the dose rate was 1/10 times lower. When irradiated at an LET value lower than 8 eV/nm, the G-values converged to a value less than that obtained by γ-irradiation. 相似文献

We report on the fabrication and characterization of nanoscale solid immersion lenses (nano-SILs) with sizes down to a subwavelength range. Submicrometer-scale cylinders fabricated by electron-beam lithography are thermally reflowed to form a spherical shape. Subsequent soft lithography leads to nano-SILs on transparent substrates for optical characterization. The optical characterization is performed using a high-resolution interference microscope with illumination at 642 nm wavelength. The focal spots produced by the nano-SILs show both spot-size reduction and enhanced optical intensity, which are consistent with the immersion effect. 相似文献

This paper proposes a method of structuring public policy by incorporating reciprocal expectation analysis. The proposed method is characterized by three components: identification of the problem structure perceived by stakeholders using cognitive maps, policy structuring analysis with a value–driver matrix and a reciprocal expectation matrix, and feasibility analysis of agreements among the stakeholders. The three types of relationship among stakeholders are derived from the feasibility analysis, which are “Dosho-imu”, “Isho-imu”, and “Domu”. Three tests of feasibility to reach the agreement are then proposed: “information-sharing test”, “bargaining test”, and “reframing test”. A case study is presented, applying the method to strategic transportation planning in the Kanto region of Japan. Oxygen-containing germanium (Ge) single crystals with low density of grown-in dislocations were grown by the Czochralski (CZ) technique from a Ge melt, both with and without a covering by boron oxide (B2O3) liquid. Interstitially dissolved oxygen concentrations in the crystals were determined by the absorption peak at 855 cm−1 in the infrared absorption spectra at room temperature. It was found that oxygen concentration in a Ge crystal grown from melt partially or fully covered with B2O3 liquid was about 1016 cm−3 and was almost the same as that in a Ge crystal grown without B2O3. Oxygen concentration in a Ge crystal was enhanced to be greater than 1017 cm−3 by growing a crystal from a melt fully covered with B2O3; with the addition of germanium oxide powder, the maximum oxygen concentration achieved was 5.5×1017 cm−3. The effective segregation coefficients of oxygen in the present Ge crystal growth were roughly estimated to be between 1.0 and 1.4. 相似文献

In this paper, a self-starting, diode-pumped self-mode-locked Cr:LiSGAF laser, which produced a stable pulse train of 45 fs duration with about 20 mW-average power at the repeated rate of 90 MHz, was presented. Self-mode-locked operation can be obtained whether there is the semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) in the Cr:LiSGAF laser cavity or not, and with the SESAM in the cavity, the self-mode-locked operation could self-start. The Suzuki coupling polymerization between bis(carbazole) monomer ( CzDB ) and 9,9‐dihexylfluorene‐2,7‐diboronic acid was carried out to obtain PFCz‐PEDA0 having the number‐averaged molecular weight of 7000. The absorption and emission maximum wavelengths were observed at 344 and 408 nm, respectively. The quantum yield (QY) was relatively low (0.12) because of the photo‐induced electron transfer. Subsequently, CzPEDA ‐bearing 2,5‐bis(phenylethenyl)‐4‐decyloxyanisole (PEDA) segment sandwiched with 3‐bromocarbazole units was copolymerized to give PFCz‐PEDAn (n = 05, 10, 20, 35, and 50). The content of PEDA segment in polymer could be controlled by the monomer feed ratio. In CHCl3 solution, the absorbance at around 400 nm became larger with one isosbestic point at 370 nm, and the emission peak at 448 nm became prominent with increasing the PEDA content. The QY of polymer was increased as the PEDA content, which was a consequence of the fluorescence resonance energy transfer from carbazole‐containing chromophore (energy donor) to PEDA fluorophore (energy acceptor). In spin‐coated film, the maximum QY was obtained in PFCz‐PEDA05 having the most appropriate molar balance of energy donor and acceptor units. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Helical [5]thiaheterohelicene 5HM, which rapidly interconverts between P and M enantiomers in solution, was connected to helical l-phenylalanine oligomers with an ester linkage to give peptidehelicenes (5Fn, where n: number of bonded phenylalanines). The characteristics of 5F4 and 5F5 with two types of helixes in a molecule were investigated, particularly in comparison with those of 5F1–5F3 with an incomplete coil of a peptide moiety. l-Phenylalanine peptide chains induced a shift in the equilibrium between the P and M helixes of 5HM toward the P side for all the 5Fns examined. The enantiomeric excess (ee) of the P form increased with a decrease in temperature, together with an elongation of the peptide chains. 5F4 and 5F5 in hot solutions of some solvents formed a gel at room temperature, whereas 5F1–5F3 showed no such behavior. In this gel, the stable helical form of the 5HM moiety in 5F4 and 5F5 was observed to be the M form in contrast to that in their solutions. 相似文献

The synthesis of sialylated glycosides using saccharide primers and cells was investigated. α · and β · Saccharide primers were chemically synthesized and introduced into B16 melanoma cells to prime oligosaccharide synthesis. Incorporation of α‐ and β‐dodecyl lactosides into B16 cells resulted in the sialylation of the galactose residue to give GM3‐type oligosaccharides. The β‐dodecyl galactoside primer was sialylated but the α‐dodecyl galactoside primer was not. Both the α‐ and β‐dodecyl glucoside primers were not elongated. In the glycosylation of primers by cells, this research confirmed that sialyl transferases tolerate acceptor modifications and are permissive to primer elongation regardless of the α‐ or β‐linkage to the aglycon unit. However, the presence of the terminal galactose residue that is β‐linked to the adjacent saccharide or aglycon unit is essential for sialylation by cellular enzymes to occur. 相似文献
