Thermally stimulated current (TSC) has been observed in extended-chain crystals of polyethylene above room temperature. The TSC spectra exhibit two current peaks of opposite polarity. The peaks were separated into separate components by curve fitting. The position of the negative peak, which appears at 123°C, is independent of charging conditions. The positive current increases after γ irradiation or aging of the samples.  相似文献

Detailed particle-image velocimetry (PIV) measurements of flow fields inside semi-open impellers have been performed to understand better the internal flow patterns that are responsible for the unique performance of these centrifugal pumps operated in the range of very low specific speed. Two impellers, one equipped with six radial blades (impeller A) and the other with four conventional backward-swept blades (impeller B), are tested in a centrifugal pump designed to be operated at a non-dimensional specific speed of ns=0.24. Complex flow patterns captured by PIV are discussed in conjunction with the overall pump performance measured separately. It is revealed that impeller A achieves higher effective head than impeller B even though the flow patterns in impeller A are more complex, exhibiting secondary flows and reverse flows in the impeller passage. It is shown that both the localized strong outward flow at the pressure side of each blade outlet and the strong outward through-flow along the suction side of each blade are responsible for the better head performance of impeller A.  相似文献

We describe here a polymer nanosheet assembly that serves as a molecular photoswitching and optical exclusive OR (EXOR) logic gate. Separate polymer nanosheets (monolayers) containing phenanthrene, anthracene, and dinitrobenzene chromophore were prepared by the Langmuir-Blodgett technique (LB films). A bilayer-couple, consisting of phenanthrene (sensitizer) monolayer and dinitrobenzene (acceptor) monolayer, and the other couple, of anthracene monolayer and dinitrobenzene monolayer, were confirmed to function as a photodiode showing current rectification on light irradiation. The two photodiodes are connected as each photocurrent direction becomes opposite. In the polymer photodiode array (LB films), anodic photocurrent was observed when the anthracene was selectively excited. On the other hand, cathodic photocurrent was observed by selective excitation of the phenanthrene. Moreover, the output photocurrent displayed a very small value when the phenanthrene and anthracene were excited simultaneously. The performance is discussed for this gate's application to an optical EXOR logic gate.  相似文献

We demonstrate UV generation in CSB3O5 (CBO) crystals grown by the top-seeded solution growth technique. 355-nm UV light was generated by use of a type II CBO crystal as a sum frequency of the fundamental light and the second harmonic of a nanosecond Nd:YVO4 laser. A 3.0-W output of the third-harmonic was obtained at a repetition rate of 31 kHz. The conversion efficiency from the fundamental light to the third harmonic reached 30%, which was 1.5 times higher than that obtained with a type II LiB3O5 crystal under the same experimental conditions.  相似文献

The photoabsorption spectrum of the O2 Schumann-Runge bands was measured with resolution comparable to the Doppler widths by using the VUV Fourier transform spectrometer from Imperial College, London, combined with synchrotron radiation as a continuum light source at the Photon Factory, KEK, Japan. The analysis of the (12,0)-(17,0) bands of the Schumann-Runge system provides accurate rotational line positions as well as the line intensities from 185 to 175 nm. Molecular constants of the levels of the state have been determined. The (v,0) band oscillator strengths were determined as 2.38, 2.62, 2.70, 2.66, 2.40, and 2.12×10−5 for the bands from v=12 to 17, respectively.  相似文献

The initial oxygen adsorption on the Si(111)7 x 7 surface was investigated by high-resolution x-ray absorption spectroscopy. Below 220 K, a molecular adsorption species is identified by distinctive absorption resonances due to the 1 pi(g) molecular orbitals. The molecular species is metastabilized to have a lifetime of 15-35 min at 135 K only with the presence of atomic adsorbates of more than 0. 1 ML (monolayer). It is thus clearly evidenced that the very initial adsorption is dissociative even at 100 K and the molecular species is not a precursor state. The molecular adsorption structures with the coadsorbed oxygen atoms are suggested.  相似文献

We consider goodness-of-fit tests of the Cauchy distribution based on weighted integrals of the squared distance between the empirical characteristic function of the standardized data and the characteristic function of the standard Cauchy distribution. For standardization of data Gürtler and Henze (2000,Annals of the Institute of Statistical Mathematics,52, 267–286) used the median and the interquartile range. In this paper we use the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) and an equivariant integrated squared error estimator (EISE), which minimizes the weighted integral. We derive an explicit form of the asymptotic covariance function of the characteristic function process with parameters estimated by the MLE or the EISE. The eigenvalues of the covariance function are numerically evaluated and the asymptotic distributions of the test statistics are obtained by the residue theorem. A simulation study shows that the proposed tests compare well to tests proposed by Gürtler and Henze and more traditional tests based on the empirical distribution function.  相似文献
